As volume of NaCl = 200 ltrs strength of NaCl = 0.2 g/l volume of hard water = ? hardness of water = 350 clarck = 350 / 0.07 = 5000 ppm (first we convert hardness in ppm) now apply formula volume of water = (200 x 0.2 x 1000 x 100) / (5000 x 2 x 58.5) so volume of water = 6.838 ltrs

Convert it into milligrams by multiplying with 1000. Then convert Amount of NaCl into CaCO3 equivalent. This hardness is present in total volume of hard water. By dividing you get hardness of water in ppm
