    • @easyengineeringchemistry3057
      @easyengineeringchemistry3057  2 года назад

      NaAlO2 is subtracted in lime requirement as it produces OH- ions not in soda requirement. In soda requirement we subtract HCO3- ions as it produces CO3-- ions.

    • @easyengineeringchemistry3057
      @easyengineeringchemistry3057  2 года назад

      @@sudhanshuwankhede Shayad kuch misprint hoga Aap koi dusari book dekhe. Video me jo formula hai wo sahi hai. NaAlO2 jab water se react karta hai to Al(OH)3 + NaOH banata hai aur OH- ions produce hote hai.Lime Ca(OH)2 bhi OH- ions produce karta hai. To jo OH- ions NaAlO2 se mil jate hai to utna amount lime ka kam dalna padta hai. Isi liye NaAlO2 ka amount lime me se subtract kiya jata hai.
      Hope you understand the logic.

    • @easyengineeringchemistry3057

      Multiplication factor ke liye chemical equivalent ka concept use karte hai molecular weight ka nahi lekin yaha maximum case me charge +2 and - 2 hone se molecular weight aa jata hai lekin jaha charge balance nahi hota waha amount vary hota hai according to charge.
      Multiplication factor ka concept clear karne ke liye aap video" Hardness and its units" dekhiye.

      Formula me jo (CO3)2- and OH - add kiya gaya hai wo tab karte hai jab softening process me humne lime soda excess amount me dala ho. Jab excess amount me lime soda dala jata hai to wo unreacted rah jata hai aur treated water me milta hai. To jab numerical me treated water analysis diya jata hai tab hum inhe add karte hai. Ise video me bhi explain kiya gaya hai.

    • @easyengineeringchemistry3057
      @easyengineeringchemistry3057  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching.
      To convert any impurity into caco3 equivalent we have to use formula
      CaCO3 Eq.= (Mass of hardness producing substance or Impurity ) x Multiplication factor
      and
      Multiplication factor = 100/ 2x chemical equivalent of hardness producing substance or Impurity
      Multiplication factor for OH- = 100/ 2x17 =100/34
      (O= 16 ,H= 1, Total OH =17)
      Similarly
      Multiplication factor for
      HCO3- = 100/ 2x61=100/122
      61 is equivalent weight of HCO3-
      Multiplication factor for NaAlO2=100/2x82=100/164
      82 is is equivalent weight of NaAlO2
      DON'T USE FORMULA
      100/MOLAR MASS
      for Multiplication factor.
      Hope your doubt will be cleared.

      Ca+2 question me nahi diya gaya hai to iska matlab hai wo water me present nahi hai isliye use add nahi karege. Que. me jo salt ya ion diye jate hai unhe hi calculation me consider kiya jata hai. Lime se permanent Ca hardness remove nahi hoti hai to lime ke formula me pemmanent Ca add nahi hota hai. Hope your doubt will be cleared.Keep watching and sharing😊
