Okay, young lady, your explanation on Schrader valve is super good news; now I need to check my air compressor or I need to go to gas station to pump air to comfort bike. Road bike is no problem!
I would add that when you have a tubeless set up,you should check the sealant level about every 3 months. It tends to dry up over time. On average you should have 2-3 ounces in a tire depending on tire size. On mountain bikes you can run lower tire pressure and not get pinch flats that happen in under inflated tubes. Lower pressure gives better traction. On road bikes tubes can be more challenging because the rim is very narrow so breaking the bead to get the tube out can be challenging. We change tubes on a wider Mountain Bike rim in about 4 minutes on the trail. I spent 15 minutes and broke tire levers changing narrow road bike wheels. For occasional recreational riders tubes are the way to go for sure. I always carry a spare tube even when I ride tubes. I have had glass put a half inch gash in my tubeless tire. Sealant woks great for small puncture.
Ma'am, with modern metallurgy and manufacturing techniques, the thinner hole a Presta valve can use is less of an advantage. Decades ago, the smaller hole was important on road bike wheel rims; now, with modern metallurgy, this is less important. Two, you can deflate Schrader valve equipped tires. The women out there can use their longer nails. If you don't have long nails, then you can use the little stud that's often found on tire pressure gauges; if the valve cap has a pointy shape, this can be used too. Three, one can use a Schrader valve on a wheel originally designed for a Presta valve. How? Drill it out! Four, I wouldn't recommend installing a Presta valve on a wheel originally designed for a Schrader valve; even with the locknut, the valve can move around the larger hole. Five, both Presta and Schrader valves are sprung; i.e. you have to depress the valve to release air. Finally, there are some long Schrader valves out there; they come on inner tubes or as valve stems for tubeless tires.
Useful point, when you're a out to inflate a Presta valve, unscrew the wee nut, then tap it to release the pressure as they will self seat due to the high air pressure keeping them closed.
I just hate Presta valves . I did consider drilling out my wheel to fit the shrader valve, I watched this video to see why , why , why performance bikes use presta, is it snobbery or is there an advantage ?
Presta valves are too fragile. I've got 2 flats just trying to pump them up. I think I am stuck with my crappy valve now 😞 RIP if I ever get a flat on the roadside
I see no pont to this valve in order to use it you need an extra piece and the piece at times gets stuck in the extension making the filling of air in to a inner tube that much more difficult
Schrader valves are used to signify who is a dweeb. If you use a Presta valve you are a Cool Guy. If you use a Presta Valve you are a dweeb. And that's that
Finally after two days of searching. I've got to see the one video that I needed. Thank you.

Good video nice explanation. I will say this, that if cars had come with Presta valves, I might not have been a car mechanic.
To the point. Not a lot of extra stuff I don't need to know. Excellent. Thanks.
Much better than the last 2 videos I came across on RUclips. Thanks
Thanks for the straightforward explanation. 😊

I find that shrader valves are more user friendly, if it works on car tires well that should speak for it self.
Thank you!

Also I have never seen a fire extinguisher that had a presta Valve they are always the Schrader type .
But why do i rescrew the nut after inflation and the air begins to release ?

The difference?? there is no character named Presta in Breaking Bad !!!

Your not stuck. Change the rims or the cheap way is to have the holes drilled to fit the Schrader valve.
@@davidhoxter thanks for the advice, I'm accustomed to them now I was too rough with them!

I shit on presta valves

@@davidhoxter I think Dweebs are kinda united now.
Dweeb forever 😂
@@symplman14 I don't really mean it. I'm just talking poop
