    Wow, Great Info! Well Done! I agree with handwriting notes. I did it when I was in school which helped better memorize for the long term.

    Hi! I’m a new subscriber and I really like your channel. Naturopathic medicine is not really the route I’m taking but I like hearing what it’s like (I’m a nutrition major!). I also really love your makeup!! Would love to learn how you do it! Do you have an IG? 🙂

    I have a question, and it is so confusing. I know some Alumni's of NUNM, In the State of Nevada we never had to take the NPLEX and many Naturopathic Physicians are members of ANMA, which tests them annually and Cetifiy them before allowing membership.....so my question is, what about them..they aren't breaking a Law, in fact, they very much are complying.

    • @TalkNaturalToMe
      @TalkNaturalToMe  3 года назад

      Great question! Nevada isn't a regulated state according to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (naturopathic.org) so technically they should only be working as a naturopathic wellness consultant, not treating, prescribing, or diagnosing patients. I'm not sure about the law in Nevada, but from what I understand, if an ND is practicing medicine in an unlicensed state then that is illegal. I'm actually surprised that an alumni from an accredited naturopathic medical school would even be part of the ANMA. They don't support what we're doing (here's an example directly from their website - www.anma.org/anma-legislation-alerts). The ANMA is more for traditional naturopaths. They even encourage individuals to NOT attend an accredited naturopathic medical school and only recommend schools like Trinity (here is a full list - www.anmab.org/accredited-programs).

      @@TalkNaturalToMe Thank you for getting back with me on the question and it is a confusing one, to say the least. But I have called the AANMC and the State and everybody is saying the very same thing about Licensure in Nevada. I went as far as calling the State of Oregon (the State in which I finished Medical School) they too said the very same thing why would I repeat what I have done already. But the AANMC did tell me to join the membership so that I would have access to all of the other information etc. This is why I asked about Board Certification with ANMA. Thank you so much once again for getting back to me on this..I sincerely appreciate all that you do.

    Where did you take cellular molecular biology? And how can I best prepare myself for this last prerequisite that I need?
    Thank you!

      @TalkNaturalToMe  5 лет назад

      Hi Marissa! I took it at my local community college. :) How you prepare depends on you and your style of studying! Keep up with the lectures and try not to procrastinate. In regards to your other comment with the youtube video - she's entitled to her opinion, but her experience does not define the entire profession of naturopathic doctors and medicine.

    Never found the right person to ask this, does naturopathy involve massage therapy or is it strictly just medicine ?

    • @TalkNaturalToMe
      @TalkNaturalToMe  6 лет назад

      Hi Chel - we do not learn massage therapy in naturopathic medical school. Examples of modalities that we do learn include homeopathy, hydrotherapy, physical medicine, nutrition, botanical medicine.

    Hey girl, can you talk about Medical Doctor rates of suicide please?
    Is it only applicable to M.D.s thereby non-applicable to D.O.s/N.D.s?
    which brings me to, can you do a video about D. O. versus N. D.? 2
    video ideas here :-) - you seem so happy and so does your bf, you'r
    inspiring a lot of people to be N. D.s, I just wanna make sure are ur
    class generally happy people too, unlike a class full of Med-school
    students?
    thank you

      Hi! Good question. Overall NDs are pretty satisfied with their careers so I'm not sure what the suicide rates are in our field (most likely very low). And yes I guess we're all pretty happy at my school (unless it's exam time then not so much lol). I'll work on a video comparing MD vs DO vs ND! :)

      I understand M. D.s are allopathic doctors :)
      But since D. O. s and N. D.s are both holistic
      doctors which is why I request a comparison
      between them if you’re up for it, tx for ur reply

    It was always my goal to be a naturopathic. Doctor. But when I tried searching for colleges a lot of people were saying the schools were. Bogus and it's not what you think, there was even a women from BASTYR who spoke in public about how bad it was there,, do you ever think about becoming an MD and practice other natural things in your practice?

    • @TalkNaturalToMe
      @TalkNaturalToMe  6 лет назад +7

      Hi! Yeah there are a lot of opinions out there, and I think almost everyone in the naturopathic medical field knows about the former ND who is against naturopathic medicine; it's unfortunate that she feels that way. I've thought about going to osteopathic medical school as well but honestly I would probably hate the training and it would be a struggle to get through. The only reason I would even consider DO school is so that I could have the ability to prescribe more or manage certain medications of patients as needed without supervision from a MD/DO. This varies state-by-state depending on scope of practice but in California for instance NDs can only prescribe Schedule 3-5 drugs under the supervision of a MD. (Scheduled drugs are drugs that have varying psychological or physical dependence; schedule 1 drugs have the highest potential for abuse eg. heroin; schedule 5 drugs have the lowest potential for abuse eg. pregabalin). SO, to answer your question yes I've thought about it but no I would never do it. I'm a firm believer in naturopathic medicine!

      Talk Natural To Me I was told by a NMD not to go to Naturopathic Medical school it’s a big risk and not a lot of money is made he works every day makes really good money but works so much in his 4 clínics here in SD and Orange County
      Latest update he’s pushing me to go DO or RN and from RN to MD or ND or DO that just to make sure my life is secure with good money while I go to Medical school since NMD is super risky

      Talk Natural To Me I went to Bastyr to get my dads case. He had pancreatic cancer but passed away :( Dr. Ryan McNallly, ND was supervising the case I didn’t tell them I’m a 4 year traditional Naturopath they did see my Research on Naturopathic Oncology and considered to continue using my approaches on adjunctive therapies. Would of like for them to prescribe a med for cachexia known to reduce muscle loss.
