It's great that now there are informative strategies available on RUclips, not only for Step 1 but also for various exams. Back in my time, I focused on memorizing First Aid, going through it three times, and creating notes to aim for a high score. If I had access to videos like these, I believe I could have planned my preparation more efficiently. However, in my case as a Japanese student, I struggled a lot with CS, although I think it's no longer a requirement now.
Thank you so much for creating such a helpful and resourceful video. I recently subscribed to your channel as I am a student in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. I wanted to gain a better understanding of medicine and become a knowledgeable provider. However, I felt like my current program did not offer enough resources/advices. After reading various forums and seeking advice, I decided to study USMLE 1 and 2. I believe this will not only help me with my FNP board exam but also make me a better provider for my patients. While searching for tips on how to study for these exams, I came across your video and I cannot express my gratitude enough for the useful suggestions and advice you provided. Thank you so much for offering such valuable resources to aspiring healthcare professionals.
Manik please make a video on how to create Great CV and also about interview skills What are the things that helped you in your match and how to create contacts in US. These things are also important along with step scores but nobody in detail talks about them. Thank you !
Hi Manik! Have been following you for almost 2 years now. I'm planning to finally give USMLE after considering all other pathways, weighing the pros and cons. So yeahh, here I'm about to enter my internship in one of the busiest hospitals in India, Madras Medical College. I'm planning to give my step 1 during internship, so I just hope I study well so that my other steps goes well too. Thank you! You are a really good motivation for me!
Hey, I am very confused right now and i am in the "weighing pros and cons" phase, I really wish to know how you came to this conclusion.. help me please!
@@khushimehta8641 I started studying step 1 in my 2nd yr (im entering intenrship in a month) and it was on and off. step 1 many questions come from concept of medicine as i saw after solving qbanks. i think its better to give after studying ur final yr subjects. so after internship is the ideal time after final yr. but prepare in the internship maximum.
The most important point he highlighted, which is why I also have been emphasizing to not to use uworld in first pass of FA , bcoz those questions are so important and I would never want a resource like uworld to get wasted and would drag myself in depression
Manik! You're an inspiration! Would love a video about step 3 plans, especially as a psych resident. Who won't be actively reviewing step 3 material while just doing residency.
Man U r gem , my exam is on sep-December! Haven got the scheduling permit yet! Boards and beyond’s too have questions on each section! When you finish a section u can do questions which u have just learned! Maybe this is new I don’t know but I still got usmle rx!
This was amazing thank you ❤I’m a little late in the game but I wish I had this video before to watch to really guide me but thank you , doing my best now 🙏🏻
You should make your own book on Summarised equation with first system sequence and uworld added to it and all step 1,2,3 equations in system wise If anyone studies it they would have info on all step exams 😃
Can I start this from day 1 of medical school? I know you said that first aid may be a bit too advanced if you don’t have the basics, but as someone whose main goal is to go to the US would it be a good idea to use the kaplan books as I go along my medical school coursework, and then finally move to first aid? As I said, I’m already set on going to the US and I wanna make sure that my test prep goes as smoothly as possibly so I’m trying to find an effective way of building the basics before moving to dedicated preparation. Starting medical school in a few months.
Thank you, Dr. Manik. Please, I have decided to follow your recommended method in preparation for USMLE step 1--using First Aid, USMLE Rx qbank, and Uworld question bank. Now, to first study First Aid alongside USMLE Rx qbank, how can I get USMLE Rx question bank? Please, kindly tell me how to get USMLE Rx question bank. Thank you, Sir.
Thanks Dr manik ...just two questions, First Should I study pathoma and sketchy along with FA and BnB or after ? Secondly, since USMLE Rx is divided by chapters rather than systemic , is the best way to study it is by finishing a whole chapter in FA and BnB then heading to study the same chapter in USMLE Rx or there's another way ? Thanx again 🙏
What do you think of doing for example a section of first aid with bootcamp or BNB. And then when you finish that section, on usmlerx you can select specific sections of a subject and do board styles questions on that specific topic. Would you recommend to use usmlerx like that, or first finish first aid with BnB, and then do questions on usmlerx
I want to know , we should directly go to the first aid book, Uworld, bnb or first we should study our clg book like guyton, bd chaurasia, kd tripathi ..... ?? I am confused Did you joined any institution for preparation? How much importance of institution for preparation?
Hello! thank you so much for your videos, they are of great help. I went for the digital version of first aid after watching your video and found it quite better. Can you please tell me where did you store the first aid on your iPad? I had kept in iBooks and lost all my work of months, and I feel hopeless now. Please help me out…
Hi ... Dr Madaan, loved your videos ... I agree that Q banks r much BETTER than flash cards for usmle in terms of critical thinking/active recall/and most imp a better active learning tool ...
I was told by many to use uworld as a learning resource by starting it early rather than a testing tool . Would you not agree with that? I could do NBMEs in the last few days right ?
I am currently a term 2 student and a I was wandering when I should start preparing for the step. I have heard many opinions on when it is best to start preparing. I have finished term 1 and did very will but did not utelize any external resources other then the ones provided by my school. Should I be using first aid before I start preparing for step 1? Thank you.
