  • I am so happy to be back! Here is the software and tablet I am using:
    Artrage 6: tinyurl.com/ar...
    Xp pen deco 01 v2: amzn.to/3gg7vBG
I am sorry I was away for so long. I was gone for about a month and a half taking care of some family emergencies. In the midst of that, I also had to move my studio. Now, I'm settled and back home... happy to be making content again! My goal is to be able to produce a video every few days at least! Here's hoping that's possible. This video is about trying to identify a simplified process for new artists. Maybe it will help those of you who are long-time artists as well. I know that finding an easy to identify method for beginning and finishing your artwork is key to being effective in your career or in your hobby. I hope this video helps! I use some tools that are native to Artrage and probably have some analog in every other digital software. So I hope this video is useful and inspiring for your journey! I would love to do my next video on location... I would like to try digital plein air digital art. We'll see if that can happen or not! Until then, I hope all is well with you and happy painting!
    -Daniel

I quite enjoy that style. It has a sort of implied detail.

Thank you! I do too... I am not so interested in detail... It is plein air style studio painting :)

I love this brush, I had no idea it existed until I watched this, and have since painted a few new pieces using it almost exclusively with the knife. Your process is also very illuminating for me, helps me get my head out of tiny details which is so easy to fall into!
    Thanks!

I grew up painting and drawing but I've never really gotten into digital, it never felt anything like painting with oils etc. Tried a few things and even have a nice display tablet I mostly use as a second monitor. Started looking at your videos, you made the transition from traditional to digital and really like it. I've found your tips really help bridge the gap.
The problem with my tablet and just fiddling with Art Rage Vitae, Photoshop and Rebelle 5 is that my pen never feels anything like a brush. The translation of brush pressure to the screen just didn't really emulate my stokes at all. So I was quite excited when I tried this square canvas brush where pressure controls the blending, size and thickness of the color you apply the paint in, in a fairly intuitive way a traditional painter can relate to. Thanks for sharing,

wonderful video ! thank you very much - I enjoyed your skill. I don't find 'fast oils' in presets in my Artrage Vitae. Are these oil paint brushes custom-made by you? In fact, I wish to have a detailed video tutorial on Artrage from you, covering most of the tools and techniques.

Thank You, Daniel! I have to ask about the woman in the middle: I assume this was based on a photograph--? Her legs look _VERY_ long. _LOL_

Hey, I just started digital painting and found your channel. I've been loving all your videos, and they've been teaching me tremendously. I have a question though... Where did you get this reference photo? I know in your other videos you've said you've used Pexels, but this one isn't on there. I've got a few from pexels as well, but it seems like many of the photos on there lack good composition. Do you have any recommendations for more photos like this? You know, interesting colors, light, form, composition, etc...

I am using ArtRage vitae on my IPad and I can’t seem to find any of the custom brush options you are ysing. I’ve looked around and can’t find any presets. Is that because I am using the wrong programme? Should I be using Artrage 6 as it’s a bit better?
