I am currently pursuing my Doctorates in business administration with emphasis on organizational performance and change. A lot of the classes are revolved around quantitative research, qualitative research, statistics for research, etc. We are also covering SPSS. I decided to join a local college to gain certifications in report analyst - classes covered are SQL, data modeling, Intro to IT, Tableau, Microsoft Access, data visualization and reporting. After that, I will be pursuing Python!

Honest question: I'm working on my MBA in Business Intelligence...and in the meantime, I'm pursuing specialties on my own (such as Salesforce, Qualtrics, etc. and other things I know are commonly used). What do you think is a reasonable salary expectation (STARTING salary, keeping in mind I do have about 11-12 years of professional experience, just not in this particular industry)? Thanks Jen! :)

Hello,
I been working in the consumer loan and mortgages for the last 6 years. I want a career change. I like math but I was not that good with graphics. Do you think Business Analytics or data Analyst would be a good career change?
Sure, a lot of your skills from previous experience seem transferable
Brian, I am about to finish up a masters degree in business analytics. Even though there are a lot of visuals involved, most of what you would need to know can be found on RUclips. There are a few basic principals that you would need to understand to make a simple but effective visual. Often the best principal is just that, to keep it simple. If you would like some reference material I would be glad to get you links to some wonderful videos that I have watched to further my education on the side. :)
Hi! How many hours/days/months of work does it take to gain the skils for an entry level business analytics position? I just have my business degree, but no experience in the tech part (starting from 0). Thank you!
How did you end up getting experience?

Can business analyst be CFO ?
Yeah, I don’t think your field matters. I think you just need an MBA to be CFO
I did not learn anything in this vodeo other than learning that this BA job going to increase in future. Would like to see actually you telling us how to become a business analyst as the heading says.
Then you didn't listen - which means BA might not be the best path for you.
She explained quite clearly the different steps to take. First, decide which type of BA role/field of specialization you want to pursue, which means researching BA openings and deciding which you like/which suits you best. Then, review the skills they're looking for (hard/technical, and soft) and start developing them - either through formal education, related work experience, consulting, self-employment, or online courses/certification programs. She even explained that she linked a video in the description about developing those base skills. Then, make sure you've developed all of the core, foundational skills to the profession - which she lists. Then, identify niche skills to give you an advantage against other candidates when looking for a job. She THEN explains that another path is to get your degree or formal education and try to land an internship. If you can't go to school, working with a coach on a self-directed learning program w/ certifications and building a portfolio to demonstrate ability is an option.
I mean.. I'm not sure what other information you want? For any job/profession, it's pretty much the same. Look at what employers require. Develop the skills and/or education requirements if applicable. Try to get experience through internships/entry-level positions, self-employment (if applicable), or demonstrate ability through transferrable skills. Then, try to find ways to stand out as a candidate through specialization, unique training/background, or niche experience. Then apply for the job. What else are you looking for?
