Hello Ma'am, A simple question I don't have a job right now I want to know how I have no experience and idea in this field and not even it or engineering . What should I start to learn as a beginner like theoretical knowledge and technological knowledge. Please if you have anything this just reply or mail something on shandilya140397@gmail.com. I actually want to know the first step to start as not able to figure it out on my own
I can so relate. I did not have a job at the time and was on vacation. I was on the lookout for DBA job. I was approached by a company and they were in need of a business analyst. I had no prior experience or any knowledge of the domain. But I said yes, and I've been a business analyst for over 5 years now.
As someone who has done work as a BA, this is really good advice. After stepping away from doing BA work for some time, this has really helped me what direction I want to go in updating my resume. Even after leaving the field for some time, this video gives me more confidence in that the skills I've gained over those years are still relevant in today's world.
I love how you are honest - It just happens. It becomes difficult to help those trying to come in. I'm glad you started sharing as you inspiring those at the door.
I've just had the greatest epiphany! I'm currently an Academic Advisor and have been so for the past 2 years. During this time I've taken on the responsibility for creating and reviewing a significant amount of our business processes and detailed working instructions (we use both). I became heavily involved in a major project which continues to this day. I enjoy analysing data, identifying gaps in business processes, creating detailed working instructions... Unfortunately there aren't many job opportunities with my current employer, to move upwards or even sideways. Now I know I've been doing what feels like two jobs for the price of one! I have experience as a Database Support Officer, assisting a DBA, but my qualifications are unrelated (Bachelor of Biomedical Science & Masters of Forensic Science) so I'd hope to be considered based on experience and the willingness to learn new skills.
Hello, I am a student from Vietnam. I am about to study MIS at university and plan to become a business analyst. At the same time, I also need to learn English. Your video is the first one I chose to start with, and it has helped me a lot. Thank you very much, wish you good health, and hope you will release more great videos.
As a veteran BA, this is actually really good advice. I've been saying for years, most BA's start off as SMEs. Once as an SME of something they find themselves contributing to enhancements of existing software or better yet, part of an implementation team if the organization is moving to new software. Once you've started using Business Analyst common practices (Requirements gathering, User Stories, Use Case, Wireframe Mockups, test cases, etc.) it's easy to then translate those skills into other processes. So then it's not dependent on you being an SME but instead, someone working with a SME as a Business Analyst. I personally did this type of transition first helping with enhancements and then part of the implementation and then I was the one writing Use Cases, Requirements, Wireframes etc. I personally find it often very rewarding being a Business Analyst.
Great video! I started at my company earlier this year (a small AI tech start-up) as an intern after my postgrad, doing market research. I made a good impression with my analytical skills and ability to decode lots of different perspectives, and they offered me a job as Associate BA just six weeks in. Fast forward 6 months and I've been promoted early to a full on Business Analyst amidst all the challenges of covid and working remotely. You're right, sometimes these things 'just happen'! I was a bit worried I wasn't a 'real' Business Analyst, because there's no senior BA and I'm just making it up as I go along or learning from colleagues who have some BA experience. However all the skills and activities you mentioned in the video are very much part of my role, so hopefully I'm on the right track! Keep up the great content :)
Thanks so much for sharing your story Robin! And so well done on making the career change to business analyst. If you'd like some support on this new career path, be sure to check out our free Quick Start to Success workshop: www.bridging-the-gap.com/quick/
Hi Laura, thanks for this video! I've been interning at a company for nearly a year and recently got offered a job at another desk as a junior BA. Your channel has been very useful in helping me understand this role :)
I’ve been an administrative assistant for a few years and I feel My job has become pretty stagnant. I realized that I’ve been asking some of these questions already of “How can we make this better? “ and “How can I make this easier for you?”.I think I was meant to be a business analyst. Thank you for laying it out so easily.
New to the BA career path and I am trying to gain all the knowledge I can to assist me in my role at work. I was brought on as a SME and am working on many of the things you describe here, just wanting to get a better handle on this new role.
Laura, I turned towards this channel exactly 3 years ago when I was offered a Job as a BA because I took it as a challenge even though I had no hands on experience. I came a long way and now I am in marketing / business role and I lecture at an institute for a BA topic as well. Thank You!
Thanks so much for your video! My background is in Economics, English is my second language which I started to learn 6 years ago. 10 months ago I got an intern opportunity as Junior BA. It's been so hard and I thought I was doing good until my PM told my that my requirement document is a piece of garbage. Listening to you made me feel that this skills will come with more experience and time. Thanks for your video! It made me feel so much better.
Well, this week I will try to write the requirements for my most visited web site. A year ago I was asked at my current work to make the business process description. So I've learned how to do this and started. It took some time for me to achieve a good result.
Amazing advice Laura, I'm currently working for an animation studio doing technical work and never in a million years would I think to start analyzing the data I already had at hand. I was thinking about doing experimental testing data crunching outside of work but this idea is so much better. Thank you!
This was so helpful, thanks Laura . I was retrenched in march this year ,I was working as an underwriter and subject matter expert in all our department projects and worked closely with IT department ,I want to be a BA I fell in love with the role whilst involved in those projects etc .crossing fingers that I get a break I need ,I have been applying and the stumbling block seem to be the BA qualifications which I don't have but just registered for one now ,so I am taking all the necessary steps to make this possible.
Hi Jane! I'm so glad you found this helpful. Be sure you are speaking to your transferrable experience as well. And be sure to check out Zineb's story that just went out today. She had an underwriting background as well. ruclips.net/video/t85UYJyiKkU/видео.html&t
So I’m a fairly young single parent and 6 months ago I decided I wanted to start pushing for these respectable careers to care for my kids. I do not have any kind of college degree, however, I enjoy seeing how things work and flow! Currently I do order entry and counter sales for a company and I am working on creating a way to better plan our truck drivers day ahead of time to improve efficiency! I believe this would be a good career for me! Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe by creating this program would be a step in becoming a business analyst?
That's great. It sounds like you are already building your business analysis experience, starting by analyzing a business process. So yes, you are already starting and this is a great first step. Keep moving that needle forward!
I don't know if you still respond to comments, but: 1. What degree in your opinion should I pursue to make this a career? 2. If I were to have 2 degrees, which in your opinion would be the best combination to give me the best chances of landing this position? Thank you
i'm just starter at the professional world as business analyst & i've found this amazing channel... i'm definitly your daily follower thanks you so much :D

Thank you for your input, I’m taking an online course for a business analysis. I need to find a job right after completing the class but I was skeptical now thanks to Your video I’m so motivated and confident to find a job.
Thanks for this video. This is a great foundation to take the next steps into A career in BA. I am an Account Executive and sale software to companies and organizations. I was not aware of how much of my current experience and roles requirements aligns with the BA role.
That's so great to hear Brian! be sure to sign-up for our Quick Start to Success workshop for more useful tips on planning out your transition into business analysis. www.bridging-the-gap.com/quick
Thanks this vedio encourage me to move more close to my new dream role of business analyst, I am currently working as a QA lead, and doing gap analysis for business requirements and functional requirements, creating user stories, client intrection, QA team clarification for functional understanding, hope I can learn more on domains, to go deep into the back roles. Thanks for the vedio, appreciate.
Hi, Im business analyst trainee. It has been 1 month since my boss offer the BA position. Honestly, I'm in the stage of confusion 😅. I have no idea what Business analyst role is. Thanks for this video. I really appreciate.

Thank you for the insightful video Laura. Is it okay to get BA certifications without BA experience? I'm presently studying MBA in Dublin, I have over 4 years working experience in Business Development but want to change to a BA career. Which certification would you advise to get first? ECBA, CCBA or CBAP?
I am looking to transition into a business analyst. My previous role involved a whole lot of communication using the right information (Marketing). I believe this will be an easy career change for me considering this. I cant wait for this whole new exciting career experience
This is so helpful! I have an interview for a BA role this afternoon and have no previous official BA experience. I feel much more prepared! I’m currently pursuing a degree in data analytics.
Thank you for this. I'm already a data analyst, analysing financial data and doing some reporting, but I want to graduate into being a full Business Analyst. I'll start doing these steps on Monday morning and see how it goes.
Just came upon this video channel. Well done. Very interesting. Currently pursuing post graduate degree in Institutional Innovation & Effectiveness. BA seems to be an integral part of our programme.
I am trying to take that first step as well. I have software development background followed by formal education in Finance and then currently employed as a QA Lead but I would like to get on the functional side of things leveraging my education to serve as a BA. I hope I have the right mix for it. Only problem being my QA Lead role domain is not on the Financial Services side which makes getting in without experience a little more challenging.
Hi Laura, I appreciate you taking the time to put together this video. There was a lot of good info, however, this advice seems tailored to an individual that already finds themselves in an environment where they can take on BA like tasks or integrate themselves into BA like functions. Not everyone finds themselves in that position or has those opportunities, so I think that an expansion of the subject would benefit a lot of viewers. Thanks!
Hi Nathan, I find that most aspiring BAs that find this video are overlooking opportunities. I'd suggest taking a broader view of how you might apply these principles in your work or through volunteering and continuing to learn more about the BA skill set through our other videos. Business analysis is truly everywhere.
I appreciate this! thanksss! looking forward to interviewing for business analysts jobs. Currently working in retail and seeing if I can get my foot in the door soon.
Thanks for this video. I’ve been in the music and entertainment business for over 10 years but now moving into the analyst direction and this video is encouraging for someone with no ‘formal’ training but has the interest and energy to apply my work experience and personality type and work on business analytical projects 👍👍
You are so welcome. I am wishing you all the best with your transition to business analysis! A good next step is to join my free Quick Start to Success workshop: www.bridging-the-gap.com/quick
This is fantastic, and REAL! Great advice and thank you for the guidance, I already have some ideas on what processes we have that could use some mapping and analysis!
You are so welcome! We're so glad to hear you've got some ideas to start applying business analysis techniques - a process map is always a good place to start! This kind of work really can jump start your career. Be sure to check out our other videos for more how to info and career guidance.
Amazing, just by what you've described in the video, apparantly I've been doing BA work in my role as Risk Management and Compliance as well! This will certainly help my resume when I thought I've had zero BA experience! Thank you!
HI M P, That is a great background for starting a business analyst career. I would suggest you start checking with your local job boards and professional network about specific opportunities.
Hi Laura Thank you so much video. I have no experience about business analyst what so ever. However I decided to go for business analyst course training. what would you recommend?
You are so welcome. We're accepting early registrations now for the next session of The Business Analyst Blueprint certification program. bridging-the-gap.com/business-analyst-blueprint This program covers all the key skills you need to succeed as a BA while helping you build real-world experience as well. Hi, I’ve been a QA tester for the last 5 years and wanting to upgrade to BA. This video is very helpful! I know the job market currently isn’t great but, we’ll get through it. Please provide any additional information that helps me get started on this path. Thank you!

Have been stated in Financial sector for so long people has put labour on you, “ the financial guy” but doesn’t really looking into what have you done what experience you’ve had.
These are basically tips on how to get noticed by your current employer. Once noticed, I suppose, the employer has to create a whole new position of BA specifically for that person.
I can't appreciate more to you for sharing your story and advices with us. I got a invitation of interview for BA because they need someone who speaks both English and Japanese. I am quite interested in that offer but have no clue how to start. Your vedio encouraged me a lot. I will do more research and try to apply for that job. Maybe something incredible will happene, who knows! 😁😁
We suggest looking at how you can volunteer to build business analysis experience. Laura provides more advice on finding volunteer positions in this video: ruclips.net/video/S3CWO4FfL-s/видео.html&t
Could I have an honest opinion ? How feasible is it to change from a career in Biology with a BS into business analytics without going back to get another degree? Is it possible to be self taught and land a job?
Yes, many professionals transition without getting a new degree. Laura's undergrad is in philosophy! However, many professionals find professional training to be a critical component of their success in business analysis. Be sure to check out our Quick Star to Success workshop to help define your path: www.bridging-the-gap.com/quick
I will try to do the first step as you mentioned. Evaluate the process and the software used, create a wireframe and discuss with the developer. In this case, I am the developer by the way. Do you think a developer can become a successful business analyst?
Love this way of making headway into the business side. Yes, we've seen lots of developers become BAs. It's a very common career progression. Check out our case studies here: www.bridging-the-gap.com/career-backgrounds-business-analysts/
What if I am working in an industrial instruments industry and service customer instead of in an IT background but I find jobs only in an IT industries
I am into financial markets and working for middle office investment banking as a Team leader and having domain expertise in equities, fixed income and cash management . I need a breakthrough for the Business Analyst profession .
I am from Toronto and I am pursuing a data analyst certification program from my current company, I want to become a business analyst as I have an MBA and 5 years of business experience. My manager suggested me the data analyst program as for both the careers you need to have strong data analytic skills. But, the problem is that now when I have written “A certified data analyst” in my resume, I am not getting any calls for BA roles. Please guide me what to do at this point. Thanks...
I am a telecom engineer been 15 years in telecom and construction field now I studied to be a business analyst and I can't find a job , I am looking for a job 🙃
Do you have any suggestions for business analysis professionals who want to work for themselves? Is there a market for BA skills in the entrepreneurial world?
Yes, many BAs are independent consultants. You can also learn about my entrepreneurial journey as a BA here: www.bridging-the-gap.com/10-lessons-10-years-webinar/
I am a administrative assistant and I want to become a BA. I have done documentation and processes in other positions. Should I pursue a ECBA to help me with get started?
Hi Rhee, Since you have experience doing business analysis and other documentation, you may be qualified for mid-level BA positions. So I'm not sure the ECBA is the right fit, as that is an entry-level certification. We are also offer a training + certification program at Bridging the Gap called The Business Analyst Blueprint, where you can earn the Applied Certification in Business Analysis which is appropriate for those breaking into the profession with transferable business analysis experience. You can find out more about that program here: www.bridging-the-gap.com/business-analyst-blueprint/
Rhee, Also be sure to check out Jami Moore's case study as she shares how she made the transition from Administrative Assistant to Business Analyst. ruclips.net/video/ObBzXOjOP5M/видео.html&t
So is this a job you can apply for or a job that is given because, I’m about to graduate high school and join a colleges business program and I was interested in a BA job.
hello thanks for the video. We recently changed the ERP software in our company and it had a lot of problems. We gave a lot of feedback and most of the problems got fixed. I could start doing some BA actions like you proposed, but the truth is that there is no person or manager in our company to appreciate it as there are such roles in our company.
Hi there - ERP implementations are wonderful opportunities to forge into a BA role. Many BAs get their start in these situations. And here's the thing about your management. The value and appreciation will come when they see your BA work in action, not before. So start exactly where you are - do the BA work in front of you to help make this new ERP system as good as you can. You'll get noticed for new opportunities and solving problems and that will lead to more BA work.
Where I work, I'm just a secretary and I've been passed up for a promotion to an analyst for years. I'm almost done with my bachelor's degree so I have all the basic MQs. I've also been pushing management to let me do more analytical things for them until now, I'm doing more analysis than any of the analysts working there. I took extra classes at Udemy to learn business analysis, Microsoft Viso, SharePoint, and lots and lots of Excel. Now, they think I'm a programmer because I can make formulas in Excel and do things in SharePoint that they think only a programmer should do. So, again, I'm feeling that after all my hard work, I will still be denied an opportunity for promotion. And believe it or not, I work in a public sector job for the State of California where this kind of thing is not supposed to happen. I realize now I have to work in the private sector. How do I break the image that I'm a programmer and get them to realize that I want to be an analyst?
Hi Bryan, You are so on the right track here, by expanding your skills and responsibilities and taking on more analyst-type of tasks. I wonder if in your current role going with the energy of helping them as a programmer would actually open up more opportunities to do business analysis? And if you'd like to seek out work in the private sector, then definitely look at roles in Sharepoint, data manipulation, etc. that capitalize on the skills you've built and help you move into more of a BA role.
From my personal opinion this job really requires financial analitical background as well economics like majors such as International Finance or International Business and some programing coding knowledge without these studies you cannot understand how to improve where companies are failing apart and find root canal of problems ... It really involves someone with negotiation, leader skills, persuasion skills and open minded to adapt to change and find reasonable solution to problems.
Hi Ojos, I agree on the negotiation, leadership skills and adaptability - but I've seen many BAs (myself included) excel in BA roles without an international finance or business degree or programming knowledge. I've also seen many aspiring BAs with these degrees come to us frustrated that their job prospects aren't what they had hoped. As far as programming language, you need to be able to describe clearly WHAT the software needs to do, to have productive conversations with technical stakeholders, but you don't need to know HOW it's built. That's not to say these degrees aren't valuable and can't be leveraged as part of your BA career path, but I wouldn't want to hold a talented potential BA up from pursuing a rewarding career while they got side tracked on degrees like this that may not actually help them excel in the role or succeed in their job search.
Hello Laura, I am a double major graduate in business management and financial management. I am currently working as an EA. I am on my early 20's and currently lost on what career path I will take. I am planning to pursue freelancing and business analyst, but I am kind of scared because of the software tools that requires this position, where I have zero knowledge of. Do you have any recommendation where I can learn these tools without sacrificing my full-time job and investing too much $$$? Thank you so much! :)
Hi there! Your BA career goals sound fantastic! You may want to check out this video with an alternate view of what technical skills are required as a business analyst: ruclips.net/video/DsfmhK4DzRo/видео.html&t
Thank you so. UCB for your advice. Are there many Business Analysts that work within the fashion industry. I am a graduate of fashion, but have worked in the financial service industry as an accounting assistant. I want to go back to the fashion industry, but working more towards the business area. Can you give me a tip on this please?
Hi Wasana, It's rare to find specific degrees as requirements for a BA position. But there are many qualifications, most of them based on experience. You can learn more about that here: ruclips.net/video/LAI3P7rrSCQ/видео.html&t
I am just graduating as a computer science student with math as a second major and I applied to multiple master programs of data science and one was business analyst. Do you encourage me to just jump to a degree of BA or keep learning technical skills with data science and transfer to BA in the future? Cause I had no working experience but I found your videos that interest me a lot to be a business analyst where I could use tech tools, analyze and discuss it with people. I do not want to sit on my desk 24/7 to just write codes. And Could you share with me some tools that you use to analyze data? thank you! love your videos!
Hi Justin, I would encourage you to look for a job in a professional setting so you can start building the interpersonal skills required to be successful as a BA, and see if you can organize things so you pursue your masters on the side.
I have just started working as a business analyst in a new organization. Would you please suggest how can I excel this role as I have no prior experience of requirment elicitation.
Congratulations on your new business analyst role! I love your youtube channel, I find it very useful. Can I please ask for some advice? I do not have the hard skills for the Business Analyst role yet, and neither have the experience. I am in my last semester of an International Business bachelor's degree and I want to work in the Business Analysis field afterward as I will also start a specialization course in Business Analysis. I intend to start the courses for Python, SQL, etc very soon as I know the position requires it. However, I followed up on your tip to build experience as a business analyst by finding a volunteer job and I will be starting next week. it is in a travel agency. The question is: Am I doing it right or should I just slow down a little bit? cause I literally have no experience with that, but at the same time I think it will be an 'up' for my cv and I could apply all the techniques that I learned day by day. Just do not want to get frustrated as I am just 22 and thought the point of view of somebody a lot more experienced could be helpful. Thank you so much
Leveraging an internship to build experience is a great idea! Also be sure to leverage our resources here if you need specific support in business analysis.
Hi Laura. The lecture you delivered is fantastic. I am into Quality Analyst role for the last eight years. Am working on a Business-to-Business e-commerce site right now. Would appreciate if you guide me how I enter BA field. My communication skills are good. I have helped our project on-shore BAs to write user stories. I would really be grateful if you answer in as descriptive manner as possible :) :)
Thanks, this video was a lot of help. I am currently an insurance broker with no experience at all. Just listening to you, you have helped me figure out how I can analyze the processes at the company I work at and make it a fulfilling task while I slowly work on my resume.
In future I wanna become Business Analyst, so now I prefer to do MBA.. Which subjects should I study, so that it will help me to be a Business Analyst, please suggest me
Hi Anisha, In my experience and the experience of my participants, an MBA is not required to become a business analyst. Nor does it always lead to a business analyst role. But if you are committed to an MBA, here is a video for you on the required business analysis skills. I would be looking for programs and coursework that support your skill development in these areas: ruclips.net/video/GMM64uU1NIA/видео.html
I have been heavily investing in Agile for about 1 and a half year. I am well-acquainted to the duties and responsibilities of SMs and POs and have now the offer to start as Business Analyst. I am starting to see some connections but still as you mentioned it is difficult to see the full scope of it at first glance.
@@BridgingtheGapBA I so far have found so many connections with the SM and PO roles. Have been reviewing requirements, case studies of companies that went from zero to hero and analyzing the own company's "existence" by our manifestations & repercussion in social media.
Wonderful content Laura, and very encouraging. In your experience, how difficult is it to "fall-into" a Business Process Analysis role from a Technical Process and Procedure Writing role. I've noticed there is a very high emphasis on process mapping flowcharts for BPA jobs.
Technical writing is an extremely common background for BAs as you bring strong writing and communication skills, as well as an understanding of technical solutions. Check out Amelia McHenry's success story as an example: ruclips.net/video/6-6st8HCIYc/видео.html
Hi how much of hands on programming would be required for Business analyst roles..I m starting my MSBA but have no hands on programming experience except for some self learning?
Hi Yoga, Many business analysts, myself included, are successful without hands on programming experience. You do need to be able to understand what technology can functionally do to support the business, but you don't need to be able to code unless you want to be a more technically-focused business analyst.
Hi! How much technical knowledge like coding do you think one needs to become a business analyst? I have a Masters degree in Org Psych and another one in Information Technology and Management , I don't have a technical background but ive worked in HR as a consultant as well as in People Analytics (with a research and development component for local government).
Hi Skyler, We've helped many professionals with business backgrounds start business analyst careers. Check out this video on the technical skill set a BA needs to be successful. ruclips.net/video/DsfmhK4DzRo/видео.html&t
Great help, A quick question. In your opinion, how much value would a certification like CBAP add in either starting a BA career or progressing to a better profile. thnx
The CBAP is not an entry-level certification, as there is a 5 year experience requirement. There are definitely benefits that participants see from a career progression perspective. Here are some resources on the CBAP: www.bridging-the-gap.com/steps-to-becoming-a-cbap/

It often does just happen...but you can also increase your odds by making some strategic moves and taking the actions I suggest in this video.

Love this insight Nel! It sounds like you've been a business analyst on this project and this experience could open up many career options for you.
Don't worry you will 👍
Hello, I am a student from Vietnam.
Thanks for sharing your transition story!
Congrats!
Thank you, I appreciate it, I will start applying as Project Coordinator in order to begin the role of a business analyst.
You are so welcome! We're rooting for you!
Sounds perfect! All of those experience will help you be very successful as a BA. Thanks for sharing!
Robots will replace it
New to the BA career path and I am trying to gain all the knowledge I can to assist me in my role at work.
Thank You!
What a great success story! Thank you for sharing and I'm so glad Bridging the Gap helped you along your way.
So glad this video helped you Karem! There are many more videos here on this channel that will help you with your requirements documentation.
You are absolutely right. Just take the first step with some dedication and everything starts working automatically. I am experiencing this.
Well, this week I will try to write the requirements for my most visited web site. A year ago I was asked at my current work to make the business process description. So I've learned how to do this and started. It took some time for me to achieve a good result.
Sounds like a great next step!
I was so blessed listening to this. Just wondering if you could sequence the videos to take you from beginning to the end as required..Thx again
Hi Laura. Thank you for the Video. i was working as QA engineer and moved to business analysis role and can relate to you. Its great information.
Thank you for the comment and I am glad the information resonated with you.
Amazing advice Laura, I'm currently working for an animation studio doing technical work and never in a million years would I think to start analyzing the data I already had at hand. I was thinking about doing experimental testing data crunching outside of work but this idea is so much better. Thank you!
PERFECT! This will lead you places. Great insight.

I am about to start new career as business analyst. Hope your vids would help me. Subscribed
thank you Madam
I don't know if you still respond to comments, but:

You are so welcome. Good luck with your transition!
Thanks for this video. This is a great foundation to take the next steps into A career in BA. I am an Account Executive and sale software to companies and organizations. I was not aware of how much of my current experience and roles requirements aligns with the BA role.

I love this so much. You make BA path, responsibilities so light and easy. I can't stop from smiling while watching this video. :)
So glad this video resonated with you.
Hi Siddharth, You are welcome and it sounds like you have many business analyst responsibilities already.

Same question
I am looking to transition into a business analyst. My previous role involved a whole lot of communication using the right information (Marketing). I believe this will be an easy career change for me considering this. I cant wait for this whole new exciting career experience
Exciting! And this is a great way to frame your transferable skills.
This is so helpful! I have an interview for a BA role this afternoon and have no previous official BA experience. I feel much more prepared!
I’m currently pursuing a degree in data analytics.
Good luck with your interview Monique!
Thank you for this. I'm already a data analyst, analysing financial data and doing some reporting, but I want to graduate into being a full Business Analyst. I'll start doing these steps on Monday morning and see how it goes.
Wonderful! Please keep us posted.
Super helpful and insightful information for a newbie BA. Thank you so very much.
We are so glad you found this helpful! And welcome to business analysis - so many opportunities in this profession!
Taking Notes, Problem Solving , Asking Questions!!
Just came upon this video channel. Well done. Very interesting. Currently pursuing post graduate degree in Institutional Innovation & Effectiveness. BA seems to be an integral part of our programme.
Welcome. Great to have you here!
QA Lead is a great background. I would focus on expanding into BA from that role. Then you can make the jump to leverage the degree if you want to.
@@BridgingtheGapBA Hey Laura, appreciate you found time to reply to my comment. Your videos have been really encouraging. Thanks. All the best!
i m a BA and I m going to focus on wireframes and paraphrasing

Perfect! What a great validation that you are on the right track.
You can find out more about that program here: www.bridging-the-gap.com/business-analyst-blueprint/

hello thanks for the video.
Thank you I follow these methods for becoming an BA
Wonderful, Satish. Good luck and please keep us posted!

But if you are committed to an MBA, here is a video for you on the required business analysis skills. I would be looking for programs and coursework that support your skill development in these areas:

@@BridgingtheGapBA I so far have found so many connections with the SM and PO roles. Have been reviewing requirements, case studies of companies that went from zero to hero and analyzing the own company's "existence" by our manifestations & repercussion in social media.
Wonderful content Laura, and very encouraging.
In your experience,
how difficult is it to "fall-into" a Business Process Analysis role
from a Technical Process and Procedure Writing role.
I've noticed there is a very high emphasis
on process mapping flowcharts for BPA jobs.
Technical writing is an extremely common background for BAs as you bring strong writing and communication skills, as well as an understanding of technical solutions.
Check out Amelia McHenry's success story as an example: ruclips.net/video/6-6st8HCIYc/видео.html
And it's definitely important to learn process mapping. We teach this key skill in our ACBA certification program.
@@BridgingtheGapBA Thank you for the reply 🙏

Great videos on BA, Laura! I'm currently looking for BA positions in Columbus OH area. So your videos are a great lead, thanks!
Great help,
A quick question.
