I never seen Class 317+321 together before. But I already seen ScotRail's 318+320 together (also South Western Trains' 455+455+456) too. That's interested about 317+321!
Nice vid again. The small time when Northampton Cobblers and 317's were being taken over by more new 321's. Last days of the mk.2 Pullmans aswell i think??
BR was planning the Intercity 250 upgrade for the WCML in the early 1990s but it was cancelled due to privatisation. Would have involved various route upgrades and 155mph trains.
This is extremely high quality footage. Thanks for uploading!
Nice to see the pullmans never knew there were mk 2 as well
Thats some acceleration from the 90 at 17:40!!
They did go pretty bloody well running light.
Beautiful Old Euston! Great upload mate cheers!
Just noticed that 321 working in multiple with a 317... never seen that before or since!
I thought the leading unit was a 313 just with all its windows open
There are a few photos of 317/321 workings about.

The DVTs have great horns. A nice chord there 24:10.
You certainly don't see any 08 shunters around Euston these days.
1:32 a 317 and 321 working. rare
DVTs were few and far between in those days.
why did it take until the mid 2000s to finally retire the 86/87 classes and their coaches? just lack of investment?
