Thank you so much for the video and the resources you used, this is very helpful. I'm trying to find wood I can use to build my own dioramas for my fish tank but all the other videos use unsafe materials and then they stuff three bettas in a 2 gallon box ☹️
Found wood dried up wood, boiled it an hour, let it try for 2 days ( probably was redundant to do ), put it inside my aquarium and it leeched amonia so hard that the water got bloomy and some guppies died. I took it out and threw it away. It smelled like the wood was rotting from the inside
OK,,,, If there was a body of water the size of a fish tank that sustained for a lengthy amount of time in the natural world how much organic matter would likely enter that body of water? Consider ratio proportion and dynamic variation...!

I just threw in some sticks into my guppy tank bark moss and all as I thought it may clear nitrates and keep it all Natural
