If this is the standard then a lot of breeders got it wrong. I prefer the pit bull/ Staffordshire terrier looking bully. Not the exotics english / french bulldog type.
Now if only people would follow these standards.... I wouldn't have a problem with bullies if people would stop breeding these "exotic" lines with severely bowed legs pointed out shoulders, bulldog type short muzzles, etc.. At least these ones look healthy, although I disagree that their gait is effortless. I think there is too much mass atop such short legs, which leads to joint problems too, but the dogs in this video don't look bad compared to what i've seen!

Although I feel like this breed has inspired many owners of pit bulls to breed his or her own version of an "American Bully"... This video outlines what the breed should be like. The dogs look healthy, well proportioned and even tempered. There needs to be an understanding that these aren't Pit Bulls they are American Bullies, and there is a big difference between the two breeds. Keep spreading the knowledge and clarify things for these idiots.

Plenty of standards and pockets in the philippines, problem is the trend now in the philippines is a lot of beeeders focus on extreme, exotic bullies with shoulder joints about to pop out and extremely short muzzles and sell them way way higher than the ones that fall within the breeds standards. They sell them at a higher price believing exotics are the real am bullies. (Not all though but you will see a lot of them).

BIGGEST THING WITH BULLIES. They overheat beyond easy. If its over 80 they have trouble. Notice all the ones in the video panting. The better the liniage the less of this problem. But it is very previlemt in bullies. I was debating bout getting one but i dont got AC and it get 100+ where i live . So i bought a purebred american lab. Not no short legged fat english lab a ripped as american lab who has the best lineage i could find. And thats another problem with bullies they are a new breed so lineage is hard to trace. If you do get one get a pirple ribbon certified bully. Even tho the purple ribbon standards have been diluted down it is the best standard you have with bullies.

Merle pattern comes with serious genetic defects including missing/undeveloped eyes, blindness and deafness, and what is termed "lethal white" or double dapple/merle. There's a similar affliction in paint horses that carry the LWO gene aka Lethal White. Breeding two LWO paints can often result in a lethal white foal that will always die within 72 hours of hours of birth due to the intestines not being developed to allow proper functioning which cause the foal to poison itself with it's own waste internally. I LOATHE backyard breeders that don't think further than the fast cash they make off these Merle patterned dogs. The merle comes from Catahoula dogs and Great Danes. I've got a shelter dog that we had DNA tested. He's 75% Amstaff and 25% English Bulldog and he's almost identical to the nicely built buckskin in the video. He's also text book example of a good Amstaff. The idiot that let him land in my local shelter lost out BIG on an amazing dog. Great temperament, perfect size of 19 inches and 54 lbs and one heck of a smart animal with a wicked sense of humor.
Almost all of the dogs in these videos look different. If you showed multiple labradors, golden retrievers, whippets, e.g., you'd find that all the dogs would look similar in structure. These dogs look very different from each other and yet are still classified as the same 'breed' and are being used in a video demonstrating the perfect standard.

The facts are that unlike the breeds you mentioned, the American Bully is developing, it's less than 30 years old. The stud books are still open and there is no set look for the breed yet. If you know dogs you should know that breeds are developed over hundreds of years. I guess you were trying to be a smart ass, you just left out the smart.
+crywulf44 There is some variation allowed in a lot of breeds. As long as the dog remains within the standard. I never thought labs all look alike, having owned and known many myself. Goldens certainly don't all look identical either. If you are discerning you see a lot of differences.

I adopted a bully and she wasn’t socialized. Very aggressive with other dogs. But loves people. Any tips for socializing her? She’s 2. I started training but the trainer keeps calling her a pittie. So I hardly trust her opinion lol

yes sir no they ate not, not with ABs. But you spend 3k if you want some kind of show quality pup. You can get them for about 1k if u just want a loving companion. I got mine from someone who couldn't have Jax anymore (appartment), at 11 month max got a good home and I got a great son. Look around the community and u may find one looking for a home

Hello i spend hours of time with my purebred choclt lab (beyond friendly) i have him trained to near perfection. He is getting old (10yrs still enerjeric)and i would like to consider getting a bully as my second dog due to their size and mellow attitude , i was wondering and would appreciate if abybody could tell me if a typical fixed FEMALE bully ( brought up right ) woukd generally get along with a MALE lab.

I grew up with danes, dobermans and a pomeranian. So I have experience with large and aggressive dogs (they were gentle giants, but not to strangers). Currently my man has a pug and I don't know if its a good idea to get the ab puppy. Also, we have a large front & backyard for the dogs to play in. Any opinion? Thank you
+Hyperia 19 large and "aggressive" dogs? They aren't aggressive unless owners made them like that. The only dog I've EVER met (I use to work with k-9 and many breeds of dogs) that is "aggressive" is a Shiba Inu, in which they are stubborn and very dominant breed, they also are standoffish and don't like other dogs or people unless its their family. They are considered one of the hardest breeds to train and don't listen well off leash because of their high prey drive. Be careful on what you throw around as "aggressive"

Its a sign of albinoism makes there eyes less sensitive to light it is mostly carried by dogs with merle genes although some dogs that dont have merle genes like Alaskan husky or siberian husky develop blue eye pigment probably cause its cold or lack of the 🌞
so basically they are just a scary looking lab that are gentle and loving unless you raise them wrong and train them to fight. I grew up with pitbulls when I was little, before my parents were divorced, my father was very immature, bad tempered, and really shouldn't have dogs or children so you could probably imagine how the dogs turned out, in fact one of his dogs ended up dying in a vehicle on a summer day because he forgot to take the dog out of the car. I am truly glad that I am out of that situation but it has left an impact on my family where we are terrified of pitbulls or any bully breed. I am starting to believe they can be great dogs if treated right, but my mom has lost all trust in them. I really think people should know who they are before getting a dog. You should know what you are capable of handling. If you are a docile person and kind of just go with the flow I think a lab or a small dog would be good for you, but if you are an alpha person who can control situations and will take the time to train your dog a pitbull or agressive breed would be good for you. Not saying that all pitbulls are agressive just saying that once they do get agressive it's hard to control them.

These medium versions are beautiful, I don't like the xl/xxl ones, they look too much like mastiffs, their lose/floppy skin doesnt look athletic at all.
All the exceptions for imperfections in the XL and extreme variety bullys is hurting the breed. Imperfections shouldn't be accepted in any class, all classes should be held to the same standard.

The Standard is probably the healthiest of the Bully breeds, with a lifespan of between 12 to 14 years if taken care of right

Hello i spend hours of time with my purebred choclt lab (beyond friendly) i have him trained to near perfection. He is getting old (10yrs still enerjeric)and i would like to consider getting a bully as my second dog due to their size and mellow attitude , i was wondering and would appreciate if abybody could tell me if a typical fixed FEMALE bully ( brought up right ) woukd generally get along with a MALE lab.

But what breeds are combined to acheive the breed standard?...apbt and what else?...this is the problem, most people think anything mixed with an apbt is now an am. bully. And the breed standard doesnt help to quell this misconception, by the breed standard, you can cross anything with a pit as long as you end up with the right traits...and now you have an am. bully...THERE IS NO CONSISTANCY WITH THE "BREED".
The UKC says APBT, AmStaff, English Bulldog, American Bulldog, and Olde English Bulldogge (Leavitt Bulldog).
At this point in time, studs are only accepted who are parented by registered Bullies.

Thanks for the amazing video :) My friend's giving away her last ab puppy and I'm debating if I should accept it. I really want it,but I don't know if I can be a good mama to the puppy. I grew up with danes, dobermans and a pomeranian. So I have experience with large and aggressive dogs (they were gentle giants, but not to strangers). Currently my man has a pug and I don't know if its a good idea to get the ab puppy. Also, we have a large front & backyard for the dogs to play in. Any opinion? Thank you

+Hyperia 19 large and "aggressive" dogs? They aren't aggressive unless owners made them like that. The only dog I've EVER met (I use to work with k-9 and many breeds of dogs) that is "aggressive" is a Shiba Inu, in which they are stubborn and very dominant breed, they also are standoffish and don't like other dogs or people unless its their family. They are considered one of the hardest breeds to train and don't listen well off leash because of their high prey drive. Be careful on what you throw around as "aggressive"
***** Please re-read what I said. I mentioned that they were gentle giants. I had three dobermans as guard dogs, that's why they were aggressive towards intruders, but not towards family and friends. Thanks.

Its a sign of albinoism makes there eyes less sensitive to light it is mostly carried by dogs with merle genes although some dogs that dont have merle genes like Alaskan husky or siberian husky develop blue eye pigment probably cause its cold or lack of the 🌞

These dogs typically carry more lean mass than their owners. The very first reason why guys get these dogs is for the intimidation factor

TheHardcoreLife your logic don't make sense, these dogs are built for strength not endurance, it's like comparing a runner to a bodybuilder.
so basically they are just a scary looking lab that are gentle and loving unless you raise them wrong and train them to fight. I grew up with pitbulls when I was little, before my parents were divorced, my father was very immature, bad tempered, and really shouldn't have dogs or children so you could probably imagine how the dogs turned out, in fact one of his dogs ended up dying in a vehicle on a summer day because he forgot to take the dog out of the car. I am truly glad that I am out of that situation but it has left an impact on my family where we are terrified of pitbulls or any bully breed. I am starting to believe they can be great dogs if treated right, but my mom has lost all trust in them. I really think people should know who they are before getting a dog. You should know what you are capable of handling. If you are a docile person and kind of just go with the flow I think a lab or a small dog would be good for you, but if you are an alpha person who can control situations and will take the time to train your dog a pitbull or agressive breed would be good for you. Not saying that all pitbulls are agressive just saying that once they do get agressive it's hard to control them.

I just rescued a dog and decided to keep him with my other rescue from last year . I was wondering what his breed is . He could be a mixed breed . He has short legs and big body . These medium versions are beautiful, I don't like the xl/xxl ones, they look too much like mastiffs, their lose/floppy skin doesnt look athletic at all.
All the exceptions for imperfections in the XL and extreme variety bullys is hurting the breed. Imperfections shouldn't be accepted in any class, all classes should be held to the same standard.
