My American Bully is 18 now. We adopted her at 12. She is a 3 time AKC purple ribbon winner. Blue Fawn in coat, 17 inches tall with razors edge. What a beaty! Previous owner said she should last a few more years but never in a million year to guess 18. Still as spunky as the day we got her. Sleeps a lot but At most is the best dog, companion, family dog that I have ever owned. The only thing she barks at is the wind, and the UPS truck. What more can I ask of her is to just live her best life. Cuddy, I will always treasure you, Thank you.
I wasn't there when she received her ribbons so I'm not sure if AKC is correct but to me she is a winner.

I'm 100 percent with you. I'm still heartbroken over loosing my 3 year old to epilepsy. Find someone who's willing to stick around and wants to see how their dogs do long term. Look for a clean facility, mom and dad or at LEAST mom. Find someone that's interested after the transaction.

I got my vet papers that said. Mine is 50% staffie 50% bulldog
You should actually get the papers that carry your dogs bloodline ! From there you can see what you actually got! Until then your guessing

My issue has been the inflated dollar amounts that people put on this breed. Some of these breeders are out to pad their pocket books.
I've dog sat an XL American Bully. He was awesome.
So very true my older bro paid 20,000$ for his bully 13 years ago but I can tell u this it was worth every penny because our Romeo is still very muscular very strong n vicious looking but sweet n loving as can be!

Ikr! American Bullies cost SO much. I guess it's coz they're a trendy breed with lots of rappers and popstars featuring them dogs in their vids. The standard and classic American bullies are at a normal price range though. It's the extraa small and extraa large ones that cost a lot.

You should also mention that most of the grey or blue dogs labeled as “pitbulls” in the shelters are a direct result of the bully community’s breeding practices.

My American bully is grey, and I got him from a kill shelter. He was labeled as an American Bulldog, but initially thought he was a pittbull and thought they just wrote American Bulldog so he would get adopted. (It wouldn’t have mattered to me, It was love at first sight) but he’s 100% an American Bully and the best dog, I’ve. Ever ever had in my life.

I bought an American Bully 4 years ago, after viewing Am Bully videos on youtube "Some of which were Dogumentary TV videos". 4 years later I'm so happy that I made that decision, because even though it has not been easy all the time "these Dogs are extremely loving and caring".
I have three American Bullies in house and two small mix breed dogs in house, it's like having another job but they aid in protection when i'm not home and the methheads are strolling the streets in small town USA as well. Yet no one comes messing around cause they know the yard belongs to my Dogs.
There are excellent breeders all over The USA and other countries just gotta look around and don't be cheap. Pocket and Micro Bulls have improved drastically in the past 5 years, Standard, Classic and XL are excellent as well. Stay UP and Strong
I have 3 bullies also and I couldn't ask for a better family dog they are amazing. and my girlfriend loves them so much.
I got one as a rescue dog. He was in a bad situation. I got him he was 6mo old now he's a happy yr & half old baby. He has a backyard to run in not to mention run of the house. Amazing breed.
I just adopted an American Bully mix and he has a wonderful and gentle personality

Black jack, king spade, black ace... these dogs were the beginning of the end. After that era it got destroyed with greed, poor breeding and deformity... I wish we could rewind to their era... and go right from that amazing stock.

And that the idiots owning em feel like they really have an exotic animal like i feel bad for those dogs, also i looove the pocket bullies but its hard to find a good healthy dog and reputable breeder cuz its about profit and breeding to the extreme 99% of the time :/

I have a pocket myself and I wouldnt get another as shes just too small at 50lbs

Thomas Pinter I don’t disagree at all. I have two standard boys they are mad athletic and driven and pretty clean pocket female she athletic also but gets a little gassed a lot faster than the boys but she’s a great dog. She’s not too small she’s around 13-14 inches. I think that the micros are the ones that began to have severe issues. I hope she loves to see 8 to 10. That would be dope. But I agree with you sir.
Been watching and reading a lots about American Bully because our 1st pet ever is ready to come home on 9-10th September, this week. All families are very excited for our female puppy, we named her "MAYA"🥰

Bullies would be a great breed if more breeders actually healthy tested their dogs and didn't try to get 5k for a puppy out of non tested parents because it will be a certain size or color.

The information was right on and very informative. I'm in agreement. The exotics are to me animal cruelty. If you had a say in how you were bred would you choose a exotic bully look. Problems walking, problems breathing, problems standing, problems seeing is no way to live just for the desire of a owner that really doesn't give a dam. The standard class is the best dog on the planet to me. Keep it coming and thanks for this great channel and info.

Vast majority of Bullies aren't very healthy.
@@truman5838 to say that they shouldn't be breeding them at all would then apply to all dogs. There are people who do it properly just like with any other breed, and people who do it poorly. Finding a reputable breeder isn't too terribly hard, but they charge a premium
On Instagram, I don't ask for an enquiry for puppies with dudes flashing money and being a wannabe thug, they are all in it for the price tag on these dog, I trust a lot of these breeders. I did find a pocket bully for 2500 not bad, P.S if you want to have a smaller dog with less problems and Vets trips, get a pocket, they survive as long as most dogs. But the person I discovered breeds correct structure dog and never goes into exotic and micro because he does this for the love of the breed. Exotic are rip offs, they a very expensive and very horribly bread dogs. Exotic survive for only 4-5 years and possibly less, so they rip off customers who don't do their research about the dog as a pet.
@@ThePeacePlant I have a pocket whom was 2k and another that was 5k, the more expensive one was from a breeder that was recommended and yet had more issues and such. If someone's charging more than 2-3k they're just in it for the money

I have an American bully, A boy 5 years old he the most amazing wonderful dog. Me and my two boys leave our J’s out all the time and he never touched a single one he’s only touched his toys never wrecked anything in the house he’s my best friend these dogs are really so amazing good with kids small dogs cats everybody I socialize him. I took him out all the time to the dog park daily.

I’ve seen some who look like they have more frenchie than English bulldog, they even have the frenchie ears. 🥰 pretty cute, other than the face, they look exactly like these guys.

There's been a lot of push to have AmBullies health tested internally, there's a pocket breeder I've had my eye on for a while, they finally bred the dog I've been watching and I can't wait to see how they mature
I'm picking up a rescue tomorrow.
She seems to have a healthy balanced physique.
I would like to put a harness on her and take her to work.
It would seem a shame to not put all that muscle to use carrying tools.
@@ernielarkin4793 oh! When training for weight carrying/ pulling, please make sure you calculate their loads correctly. Whole AmBullies are hella muscular, putting even 1/4 weigh on without any regard for loading correctly and training can wear down the dog. There's a lot of references online to help you on your weight training regimen, though!

I am so fascinated with uncovering what breeds went into creating these beautiful animals. Zeke would you say the Rott is a big part too? Given all the new tri-color bullies.
It’s up to the buyers and people buying this breed to be informed and responsible. I have 6month pocket bully whom is healthy and has his paper work 2 generations back my breeder and j keep in touch and I know he cares. I love the breed and want to see the breed do well but there are a lot of exotic breeders that are watering the breed and putting the lifeline of this promising breed in danger. Inform yourself , and do your research like my man on this video is speaking on. My bully hasthe sweetest temperament, intelligent, charismatic, kind, strong. I recommend it for people looking for a companion that wants nothing more than spend there days at your side, laying down and licking you to death.

My pocket 7 month American bully is healthy as an ox. 50lbs and 15” at withers right now. Plays fetch every other day full sprints. He is a great dog. Only flaw is he pulled a lot of bulldog and has a bob/Krinkle tail and a 1/8inch overbite
My boy is a grandson off of PR Poe’s Blu Boo-Boo and PR Reyes Azul and I really feel he is a great representation of what the breed used to be,looks like his grandma head to toe!

I feel like a lot of people seem to forget that I’ve also heard in some of the more Athletic XL. American bullies breeders will use some Apbt. I’m personally not sure how true it is but again that’s what I hear.

The American bully was founded on the cross between amstaff and apbt to create a more bulkier, muscular dog all around

Such a stubby and sad representation of a once agile and great dogs.
I'm not a dog breeding expert. But it looks horrible when I see these super wide low-riders with the bowed-out front legs. Seems that some breeders have fucked with them so much that they've created an animal that doesn't have a long healthy life.
@@PiggieSmall Yep, the animals are not built to hold up. Even a slimmer heavy dogs like Irish wolfdogs have very much of a health problems the size that needs to be held by the legs. These dogs should have much larger legs or lose some weight. There is also no actual use for a dog with this kind of body. Can't chase as well as others, can't protect as well as others as it's chunkier and has breathing problems.
The dogs you are referring to still exist. You guys are dumb as hell.
those extremely weirdly looking muscle doings with cowhooks and all other kinds of DISQUALIFYING FAULTS are dogs not recognized by the ABKC which is the founding kennel for the American Bully. You gotta compare a show ring standard dog to those instagram and social media dogs and you’ll see the differences 🤷🏿♂️

Am Staff, American Pit Bull Terrier,American Bulldog, French Mastiff, and Italian Mastiffs in my opinion is what makes the American Bully breed.

With any breed ur gonna pay more for more quality with that being said if ur looking for a bully find one where the breeder has a set breeding schedule or basically a breeder that isn’t just churning out puppies and selling them off. I live in Illinois and my wife shopped and shopped and found a solid breeder in Cali that only had a couple breedings a year if that. Also I recommend not pulling one straight out of the litter at less than 8 weeks or more. My pocket was with his mom and other dogs til he was 11 weeks and he was very docile and disciplined and socialized and listens very well, unless he’s playing with my female pit, but I’d say about 99% of time I don’t need a leash for him. Be selective and be prepared to pay for what u want. Oh one more thing they are wonderful with kids my Bishop sleeps with my lil man every night

My family breeds XL bullies. They’re such beautiful dogs, they’re incredible around small children, and unfortunately one of the most neglected and abused dogs on earth. It’s disgusting the way people treat pitbull style dogs, they’re beaten and tortured to hostility in fight rings and because of that people have decided they aren’t as worthy of love. Pitbulls are euthanized in shelters more than any other breed or style of breed and see. People view them as heartless killers when in reality it’s the people who treat these dogs like dirt over misinformation that are the true heartless killers. Y’all go out and get some good quality pitbulls. They need some love. Like I said we breed American Bullies specifically but all pitbull style breeds are neglected

Its not bad, if you get a standard they will get to around 50-70lbs. My girl is 55lbs and calm as a peach. She plays outside and knows when to calm down. Good dogs if you can get a healthy one
