    Perhaps the craziest thing about Rodrick’s 152mph serve was that it was only the second serve of the match. There first serve he hit of the match was 142mph.

    Crazy even after all these years with the advancements in racquets guys still haven’t broke Roddick’s fastest serve at the US Open

      Because racquets haven't advanced at all. It's all marketing fluff. Gut strings have been around for 150+ years and they're still the best as well.

    Roddick only 6 foot 1 as well. Insane serve. Most of the other fastest servers are 6 foot 4 to 6 foot 9. Benjamin Becker might even be more impressive as well at 5 foot 10 dropping a 142 bomb!

    You will that Roger is the only who actually returned the serve. In the 2007 SF Roddick hit a 147mph and Roger returned it right at Roddick's feet just after he landed from serving.. I remember McEnroe saying something like, "Has anyone ever done that to Roddick's serve...other than Roger?"

    Isner and Ljubicic' serves are most lethal, their ball placement just near the center line.

    What's insane, is that Federer seems to be reacting to the ball as it shoots from the strings, not guessing. Looks like he has a lot of time.

    I've hit and received a few 130mph serves and they feel impossibly fast, I can't even imagine what another 20mphs would be like

      With today's space age tennis rackets pretty much anyone who plays at a decent competitive level can hit upward of the 130's- the pros just can do it more consistently and accurately... 152, though, that is truly insane!!!

    1:51 into the video Federer dogwalks that return back to the server like it was a 60mph serve, and he is so not expecting it that he yanks it out.

    There are several that are faster than these. Sam Groth has the fastest recorded serve at 163 mph.

      Yes, but this video is supposed to show the fastest serves during men's singles games at the US Open. Sam Groth's 163.4 mph serve was recorded in Busan, South Korea.

    This list is inaccurate Sam Groth holds the record at I believe 163mph and Isner has serve faster than shown here like a million times.

      Lol, these serves are in mph, not kmph. Divide your speed (160 kmph by 1.6 and you'll know the speed in mph)

      That's absolutely not true. Nadal and Djokovic have never had huge serves. The ones who only rely on serves are usually mediocre players.

    Who cares about serve speed when you have deadly precision and accuracy like Novak's serve. He's undoubtedly the greatest server of all time even without one of the "fastest" serves. Shows how pointless that stat is.
