Good video, except you got one thing wrong about sinking an aircraft carrier. Reference the live fire sinking of the CV 66 USS America in 2005. With over 1,000 water tight compartments, there is no one place on an American super carrier that can be struck, causing the ship to sink. For 4 WEEKS, the US Navy hammered the USS America with missiles, bombs, and torpedos, and it still never sank. And that was a ship with no crew performing damage control. Over 100 anti-ship cruise missiles, bombs, and torpedos struck the CV-66, both above and below the waterline, and she never sank. They finally had to send engineers aboard to specially place explosives to scuttle the USS America, and that was a Kitty Hawk class super carrier. She lacked the advanced armor plating and Kevlar found on the Nimitz and Ford class super carriers. Nimitz class and Ford class super carriers are FAR better protected, and more resilient, than the 1960’s designed Kitty Hawk class. Short of a nuclear bomb, I doubt there is any country in the world (including the US) that could sink a current US Navy aircraft carrier in combat. You can hammer away on those ships all you want, and they just won’t go down. I’m not saying they are unsinkable, I’m just saying that after getting struck by over a dozen torpedoes, each with a 1,000 lb warhead, the USS America still did not sink. After being struck with SEVERAL dozen Harpoon anti-ship missiles, each with a 660 lb warhead, the ship still did not sink. The USS America was even struck with several dozen laser guided 2,000 lb bombs, and this was in conjunction with the torpedoes and anti ship missiles, and she never sank. And with how well protected the US Carriers are, in combat there are only maybe 2 or 3 countries in the world that would be able to get even ONE actual strike against a modern carrier. US Super carriers are not built to be held in reserve and used for defense. They are built to be out there on the front lines, hammering the enemy from day 1 of opening combat operations, and they are EXTREMELY effective at doing that job.
