      Ginga I second everything you said megatron was better during that time by Andre was my guy all day everyday

    • @Ginga
      @Ginga 5 лет назад +16

      @@Stephenwhite013 Calvin was better and more physically gifted but to be fair, he was drafted five years after Andre had already been in the league. Andre had exited his prime by the time Megatron was squarely in his.
      For me, Megatron is the most talented WR in league history. Moss was a freak but Calvin was an inch taller and outweighed him by around 30 pounds, while still being ridiculously fast. Owens, Andre, Julio, Fitzgerald and Green are all in the conversation for who the third most gifted WR is. You could make a case for any one of them.

      Ginga but for those 5 years there was no one better than Andre

    • @Stephenwhite013
      @Stephenwhite013 5 лет назад +5

      Ginga no need to preach to the choir Andre is my guy when everybody was in love with Calvin I was an Andre Stan.
      Calvin ultimately was just a better player I can’t deny it the stats and my eyes prove it BUT Andre will always be my favorite of this era

    • @Ginga
      @Ginga 5 лет назад +4

      @@CJ-oy5gp I'm not sure about that. Andre was great from the moment he stepped into the league. Still, he was only regarded as the best WR in the league between '03 and '07 for one year at the most. In '03, Randy Moss and Torry Holt had ridiculous years. In '04, T.O was amazing in Philly. Chad Johnson and Steve Smith were a level above everyone else in '05. In 2006 you could make a case for Andre being the very best but there were plenty of names still in the debate. He got hurt in '07 and we know what Moss did with Brady in New England.
      The best stretch of Andre's career was from '08 to '13. Three 100+ catch 1500 yard seasons, two more 1200+ yard seasons and the only year he didn't clear 1k yards, he missed 9 games. The only WRs in his league during that time were Larry and Megatron to me. Julio and A.J. Green were already dominating but the vets were a slight notch above them.

    Andre Johnson deserves WAY more respect, his name is never even mentioned when so called experts bring up the best receivers from that era.
    In my opinion he's HOF without a doubt, and it's not just because I've met him or have his autograph.
    Growing up I was lucky enough to have an uncle who was/is a chauffeur and a limo driver so I've had the pleasure of meeting all sorts of athletes and entertainers in my life.
    Of all the athletes/entertainers I've met Andre Johnson was my favorite because he was the most genuine and humble, he doesn't have the arrogance of most entertainers.
    Most entertainers just have this aura that's off putting but when I met Andre we sat and talked for nearly 45 minutes about everything but football, I didn't even ask him for an autograph but before leaving he grabbed 2 footballs and signed them for me, one of his jerseys and took a pic with me and my cousin.
    Dude is the definition of class on and off the field, he doesn't even drive luxurious cars or walk around flaunting his wealth with ridiculously expensive jewelry and clothing.
    His career would've been way better had the Texans gotten him a better QB and coach earlier in his career, I'm not 100% sure about this but I'm almost certain he went through more starting QB's, head coaches and offensive coordinator's than any other top tier receiver from that era but he still found a way to put up respectable numbers with C list QB's.
    He's one of those guys that you genuinely feel bad for because his loyalty to an organization stunted his career, if he had Peyton Manning, Drew Brees or Tom Brady as a QB he'd have a few rings by now and would be regarded as one of the best receivers to EVER play the game.

Not just because he was a dominant player, but he just seemed like a good human being overall that can inspire anyone in any profession to try their hardest to reach their goals. Not only that but you were the heart and soul of the Houston Texans. I truly wish I was more into football when I was younger so I could have watched you play more while you were still in the league. God bless you and your family. Thanks for giving your all every day for the people of Houston for over a decade of your life.
