    Hello Mark; Thanks I had a good laugh and your skills set on the bike on the Proving Ground was amazing. The Scrambler is about fun, dirt roads, fire tracks but not full single lane bush bashing. Thanks for your hospitality Big hugs to Naomi ... David..Adelaide...Tiger 900GT & Street Scrambler.

    Great review Mark, I really enjoyed your take on the bike! As you both agreed, it's about individual preference and practicality. David's been tinkering with it since he purchased it , to customise it to suit him, which is what it's all about. Well done guy's! 👍

    I bought a new one in 2020 and loved it. So much in fact, when it got stolen and written off I bought another without hesitation. At 6'3" and 240lbs I don't find it too small. A great bike for town work and general tooling around on back roads. I've done a couple of very tame off road tracks on it with ease but I also have a dirt bike for more serious stuff. It carries it's weight well and makes a great bike for novices I reckon👍👍.

    I've got one of the Sandstorm Scramblers. My back's not what it used to be so I had to give up sportsbikes for something more comfortable. Absolutely love this bike. I've swapped the tyres for more road-focused ones, as my off-roading is limited to very light gravel tracks and it falls into bends almost as easily as any sportsbike. Swapping the rear shocks for FOX units further transforms the handling, and a de-cat makes the initial take-off much more responsive. I originally fell in love with the look of this bike, but ownership has confirmed I made the right choice. It's a proper grin-machine.

    I love these Street Scramblers. I was a little harsh on them when they first released because my best mate has the previous 900 air-cooled Scrambler and these felt like they'd lost some of that raw character. While that is still true to a degree, I've really come to love these Streets and I think Triumph has smashed it out of the park in making a street bike which you can take down scratchy lanes or easy off-roading. It's not a hard off-roader, but nor does it pretend to be, and the big 1200 exists for those that want that.
    Speaking of that, I'd love to see you take out the big Scrambler if you can ever get hold of one. I think that could suit your riding really well while keeping the classic looks and character. It'll suit your height and frame too.
    Good video Mark, as always.

    Great review Mark, and well done Dave for trekking across to Bendigo. Triumph Scrambler, is one off THE Coolest Bikes on the Market, You just wanna put it on a flat track and ring it's neck. The Standstorm is next level for sure.

    I have a early 900cc Triumph Scrambler since 2008, now has 85k on the clock. Really it's a road bike with off road styling but I have a WR250R for the dirt.

    Dave was a small enough fella compared to you and the rear preload may of been set on minimum. Your extra weight might of raked it out a bit causing that slow steering. It might of taken the bends a bit easier with an extra bit of rear preload for your weight. I’m guessing of course. Lovely bike.

    Good looking machine, i had one of these as a loan bike for a short while, felt like a BMX compared to the 1200 Explorer.

    Just watched a video of another late model scrambler out moto camping. Instrument cluster toasted due to rain, abs problem, traction control problem as a result and on the trip would not start with the electric start. Not to mention the exposed and very hot exhaust header. Nice looking but no thanks.

    • @BikerBits
      @BikerBits  2 года назад

      Yeah I saw that video and you have to remember that he had customised the instrument cluster which was the downfall for all his problems. He actually mentioned that in the video. Not to mention taking it where it doesn't belong. 👍

      Please note, that rider had relocated the gauge from it's designed position to down low below the tank on the left hand side of the bike. It was receiving direct weather, road spray and water from puddles and creek crossings. He then mounted it back to it's original position above the headlight, but only after the damage was already done.
      I don't know what amount of weather protection is provided in the original position.
