I purchased a starter pack of a combination of salt, rinse aid and detergent for about ₹450 of fortune brand. Two months have gone by with a single wash everyday and the pack is not yet over. I estimate it to last 3 months which is ₹150 per month for the ingredients... Hey Soumya, Good video ... btw what's the Cost sweetspot will you recommend to trade-off & decide whether to invest in buying a dishwasher along with monthly cost vs cost of hiring a maid (now, maids are available for approx 1k/mo for dish washing)? ................. Also, we should account for the manual cost of approx 10-15 minutes every day to load/unload the dishes from dishwasher.
Hi Suchi! I think more than the cost it is the convenience. For a tier 1 city, the monthly cost is almost same as you would pay a maid for dishwashing. Then you have to apportion the cost of your upfront investment. If you automate completely with this and a robot vacuum cleaner - your upfront investment could be around 60k. Hii...saumya..i really liked all your videos and found to be quite informative for dishwasher related information. Recently i also bought voltas df15a . Tds in my area is on harder side i mean more than 800 ppm. So i filled salt for the very first time in salt dispenser around 1.5 kg and it last for only 6days.. Is it normal ?? I am doubting how its possible when I am usi g only one time a day...can you tell whats your opinion on this Is it normal ??
Hi Sweety, the first time it does take almost 1.5-2 kgs. But that should reduce subsequently. However, since you TDS is quite high, you may need to set your salt setting to high - which means salt consumption should be higher than normal. Try for the next few times and if it consumes as much - you should check with Voltas once.
@@TheGrapevineIndia I am also using Voltas Beko (DF 14S2) , Volts use lesser salt band Rinse Aid than other dishwashers (I have returned LG after 15 months). Try to set salt at level 2. If it does cnot help try to raise the salt setting to 3. At level 2, salt in my dishwasher lasts for 25-30 days, with one wash a day.

I have another bosch dishwasher with the same water hardness levels set but it takes 1 kg per month only. This is ridiculous.
Hi Neha - it is difficult to say, if it is consuming too much salt - perhaps the hardness level of your water is quite high. I recommend checking your hardness level and talking with the voltas technician to determine if you need an external water softener

buying a dishwasher may have made your life a bit better. but there are a few things I will mention you here. 1. buying a dishwasher you are eating one man's job.2. secondly the power consumption that you are comes from the highly polluting coal based power.3. you are feeding the wealthy cos. in the process, spending around a 1000/- per month and the depriciating cost of the machine will cost you around 500/- + per month considering the life of machine to five years. on top of it you have to give your at least two hours of time every day, right from rinsing the utensils to putting them in the dishwasher, to thn taking out them and putting them in their respective places.
I agree with all of your points but who cares. Simple thought is everybody thinks it doesn't matter with my 1 more appliance. Advantages are 1.Maid can breaks the utensils, here you are safe. 2 . Maid will take day off for at least 3 days. 3 maid salary is around 5k rrs. 4 maid can steal valuables. 5 Dependency on each other occasionally.
@@sayedmasihullah2375 point taken. Think if the job you are in is replaced by a robot, then will you also say the same. Moreover, those who can afford a dish washer, might be spending at least outside food once a week that cost around 2000/- per week. In my opinion if one earns 1 lac.a month, must employ one person for 10k per month salary. If in India estimated there will be 10 cr.people in this cat. and if even 50% employ 1 each, at least 5 cr. Families can eat 1sq. Meals per day for sure. This will reduce crime as well to a certain level.

Hi @Rusty 2k, not sure about mega xxl and xxxl - it just seems to be the number of tabs in the pack. While the manufacturers say we don’t need rinse aid and salt, I do see deteriorated performance when not used with tablets. So yes, you would need to use both even if you are using tablet - specifically if you have hard water in your area.
Hi Anjali! If you need to use the same vessels after washing again and again during the same cooking cycle - then it may not be useful. Normally a dishwasher is useful to bulk wash a number of dishes.
Hey , Do u use twice a day or once in a day.. I'm using Bosch dishwasher twice in a day.. I am getting 1k-1.2k more bill than exiting..i used to get 600rs per month after using dishwasher I'm getting around 1800-2k bill..which is huge..
Hi world of Kaysha_cherrybliss! That is unusual. It is unlikely because of this as it uses about 1KWH depending on cycle you use. You should consider getting a smart plug where you can measure where that increase is coming from.
Hi Shaswati, mostly likely not - depending on the version you plan to buy. It would be best to check the measurements - a full sized dishwasher is approx 60cm x 60 cm x 60cm. And a tabletop is slightly smaller in width and depth but about 20cm smaller in height. Unless there was a provision made under your kitchen sink for a dishwasher, it may not fit.
Hi useful video 👍- Needed your inputs , we are a family of 5 and have 2 sets of meals cooked in a day home with a lot of vessels , living in mumbai where the Unit consumption fr electricity is Rs 10 per unit , what according to you would be the approx Electricity output I would need to spend and which machine in capacity would you recommend ! Thanks in Advance
Hi Jay - I would think a single load would be enough per day if you go for a 14 or 15 place setting dishwasher. The energy consumption is generally around 1.3kwh for the auto mode of operation - so your monthly electricity cost will come to close to Rs. 390. If you run more loads a day - would go up proportionally.

Before buying Voltas dishwasher, I have used LG for more than a year. Test the water hardness with TDS tester, which you can buy from Amazon for 250/- or 300/-. If it is not possible, call your RO technician to test the water hardness or RO water. for 500 TFDS, LG will soften water at salt setting 2. Page 19 of the LG dishwasher manual has necessary instructions about salt setting. If you have connected LG with your cell phone, you can change the salt setting from cell phone. Salt setting at 2 handles most of the water hardness problems. You can test setting 2 then can reduce or increase the setting. At setting 2, salt in LG lasts for 27-30 days.
Hi Rama! It will use around 1kwh per cycle. So if the price in your area is about Rs. 7 per kwh, then Rs. 7 per cycle or Rs. 14 for 2 cycles. That comes to about Rs. 420 for the month. You will need to identify the power rate in your area from your electricity bill.

Hi!
I think LG has launched their dishwashers as well. I saw it on their website more than 1 year back.
Hi! Yes they did, but many viewers have reported issues with overheating.
Very informative video. I have just now purchased a Faber 8 place dishwasher as per my space availability so can u pls tell me that is it ok to put 2 loads in a day as we have 4 members in our family. Thank you
Totally fine
@@TheGrapevineIndia thank you
Ma'am, could you kindly post an installation & instructions video for LG DISHWASHER please,if already posted then kindly share link
Hi Ajay, I don't have an LG dishwasher - but, the initial prerequisites for all dishwashers is the same. You can find that in this video. ruclips.net/video/bvs1-WTz6zc/видео.html (sorry about bad audio quality, was my first video :))
Why do you need rinse+salt if you are using tablets which already have salt+rinse aid
We have been using the Seimens Dishwasher since July 2015 and found it to be better than a Maid Cleaning the Utensils.
The Best Part is the Hygiene factor which is missing in cleaning by hands.
Absolutely!
I am doubting how its possible when I am usi g only one time a day...can you tell whats your opinion on this
Is it normal ??
I am also facing the same issue. within 20 days, 2kg salt was consumed. I have already used around 3kg salt till now in a span of 1 month with the same dishwasher model. Did you get any resolution from voltas service?
@@irfanrafeeq88 they have well learned one and only reply "water tds is very high madam" they can't anything for this..
Now i am using since last 6 months now.. and using almost 4 kg salt per month on an average and using dishwasher once in day.
They keep on insisting to put external water filter for dishwasher.
@@sweetyjain6075 In that case, I guess its just better to use a tablet without using additional salt/rinse aid right? Not sure if voltas service will even offer a refund. I did raise a support issue and the technician over the phone says your water hardness is high because you are using bore water and thats why we cant help you. I have another bosch dishwasher with the same water hardness levels set but it takes 1 kg per month only. This is ridiculous.
I use Fortune.. Half kg detergent and about quarter litre rinse aid....per month.
Hi Abraham, that’s good to know! Many users find Fortune useful too!
What will be requirement of salt in case of very hard water of dishwasher set @ maximum hardness settings? If used twice a day?
Hi Neha - it is difficult to say, if it is consuming too much salt - perhaps the hardness level of your water is quite high. I recommend checking your hardness level and talking with the voltas technician to determine if you need an external water softener
Thank you ❤️
Thanks for the useful video. We recently bought Bosch dishwasher. The technician who came for the installation warned us not to buy Finish products online (Amazon/Flipkart) as they might not be original. Where do you buy them from? Is there any reliable seller online? Can you post the link?
Hi Bithika, always take what technician says with a grain of salt :) I buy it on Amazon, been using this for a while now amzn.to/3Hi2h5W
Thanks a lot!
Can we use fourtune dishwasher kit in IFB dishwasher
Yes for sure
@@TheGrapevineIndia there is no problem with this
N how is the IFB dishwasher Neptune sx1 model it is good or not
If the water is not hard, for example, Cauvery water, do we still need to use salt and/or rinse aid?
Hi Binu, the dishwasher will throw up an indicator if its not added. You can add and set it to the lowest level.
250gm salt per week makes 500gm per month. 2kg lasts for 4 months and hence monthly cost comes to 83 and not 42
Hi. Thank you for all the videos related to Dishwashers. They are very helpful. Hate to point it out but I think the calculation for dishwasher salt is incorrect. 250gm in 2 weeks = 2kg in 4 months = Rs. 83/month...
Oops! Thanks for pointing it out. I agree, somehow miscalculated. Salt is a minor component- so I’m glad minimum impact due to this miscalculation 😌
Hi mam,
I just want to ask while running dishwasher need water continusly??? Or there is any storage space so we can add water before it starts??
Hi Yogesh, yes it needs running water
Hi, just purchased Faber dishwasher… I was told by dealers not to use Dishwasher more than once or twice a day.. can you please confirm if it’s true and also how many times do you use it a day ?
Did you ever try using "Fortune dishwasher detergent". How good it is compared to finish?
Hi Yeshwanth, I have not, but many of the viewers on this channel have tried it and they are happy with it.
For almost 2 years, I have been using only Fortune Detergent, which is very good and most economical.
I am searching for siemens dishwasher. But it was out of stock from the company brand store and online. Please suggest which brand and model is best for 3-4 family persons.
Hi Praveen! Have you seen my comparison of various dishwashers here ruclips.net/video/9EczL1MMVMc/видео.html. Other than LG, you can pick any of the others covered that meet your needs.
@@TheGrapevineIndia Hi, In the stores Bosch and Siemens are out of stock. I am planning to purchase for my mother (56yrs). More programs and functions ,, she does not need ( for 3-4 persons ). Voltas Beko is available near by stores. Can you suggest the model in voltas beko.
Voltas Beko 8 place setting may be too small. So go for IFB or Faber or Voltas - 14/15 place setting
Thank you❤❤❤ sis
Thank you 😊
What if we use normal local detergent
buying a dishwasher may have made your life a bit better. but there are a few things I will mention you here. 1. buying a dishwasher you are eating one man's job.2. secondly the power consumption that you are comes from the highly polluting coal based power.3. you are feeding the wealthy cos. in the process, spending around a 1000/- per month and the depriciating cost of the machine will cost you around 500/- + per month considering the life of machine to five years. on top of it you have to give your at least two hours of time every day, right from rinsing the utensils to putting them in the dishwasher, to thn taking out them and putting them in their respective places.
I agree with all of your points but who cares. Simple thought is everybody thinks it doesn't matter with my 1 more appliance. Advantages are
1.Maid can breaks the utensils, here you are safe.
This will reduce crime as well to a certain level.

whats rhe difference between mega xxl and xxxl finish dishwashers table
Hi @Rusty 2k, not sure about mega xxl and xxxl - it just seems to be the number of tabs in the pack.
While the manufacturers say we don’t need rinse aid and salt, I do see deteriorated performance when not used with tablets. So yes, you would need to use both even if you are using tablet - specifically if you have hard water in your area.
Very helpful vid. Pls mention how much did u buy yr faber dishwasher. How many thousands, twenty thousand or at what price?
Hi Anna, thanks for writing in. I bought mine right after lockdown opened up, so paid about 41k. Right now the same model is at 45k.
This is assuming you run the dishwasher once every day right?
Hi Rustam - yes.
What is best mode to run dishwasher
Hi Sudhakar, most often auto mode or eco mode is good.
Kindly tell will it useful for nuclear family where I have habit to use a single utensil fir many times after washing it again n again
Hi Anjali! If you need to use the same vessels after washing again and again during the same cooking cycle - then it may not be useful. Normally a dishwasher is useful to bulk wash a number of dishes.
Hii. I m living in mumbai.. Planning to buy voltas beko dishwasher.. Here in Mumbai water is soft. Should I still use salt????
Hi Nusrat, you can add the dishwasher salt and set it to the lowest setting.
Hey ,
Do u use twice a day or once in a day..
Do you think it will fit under the kitchen sink ?
Which is better Voltas beko or midea
Hi, have not evaluated Midea. Voltas beko is good for small spaces. For free standing, can consider better options.

How much water was consumed during single wash?
Hi, depends on the cycle but between 10-15 liters.
Hi My Consumption of Salt is 4 Kg in Month ...I use full load daily ...is their any setting issue ( LG Dishwasher ) ...Water in my area is soft ...Pls guide why so high consumption of salt ?
Hi Niteesh, what is your salt setting? If set to max, it will consume max as well. Even with max setting, 4 kgs is too high.
Hi andi how much power bill for dishwasher if I use twice a day
Hy soumya! I had the same doubt and glad i found it..can u please tell how much could be the electricity cost if i use it twice a day with the intensive mode where water tempreature is the highest? ..thanks

when using finish products, no need to use rinse aid and salt...
Hi Latha, thanks for sharing. Actually that totally depends on the water hardness in your area. If too high, still need salt and rinse aid. Without that wash quality is not good. Thats the situation for me too. Have to use salt and rinse aid inspite of using a tablet

Yes,
The quantum ultimate or quantum max dishwasher tablet from finish works well even for hard water.
