- Hindus, unfortunately, have become defensive about murthi pooja (idol worshipping). India is among the last surviving idol worshipping cultures in the world. In such a nation, a song like pathar ki pooja karke haari gets written, composed and sung by the very same people who worship idols.

Dharmic philosophy accepts many forms of ‘worships’ including none, as long as Dharma is followed. It’s very democratic compared with any.
The Abrahamic faiths forbid idolatry in the form of wealth worship, sexual worship, and self-deification. Yet, these forms of idol worship are widespread across all 3 Abrahamic sects.
You don't need to worship anything unless you think it deserves respect. In India we are into hero worshipping and if hero tells to worship so and so we go and do it. Think for yourself and not because others tell you to
We do not worship idols !! We worship Murthi !! Idol after pranpratishtha is called Murthy and is being worshipped!! Please stop calling Murthy puja as idol worship
Murthi is NOT EQUAL TO IDOL. PRAAN PRATHISTHA ,once done, changes it into a murthi, worshipped by us. PLS do the course SANSKRIT NON TRANSLATABLES by Shri Rajiv Malhotra.
Idol worship is kindergarten of spirituality as said by swami vivekanda. Instead of believing Manav seva is Narayan seva.
