I was waiting for this review, I want to buy the 55in version of this TV, Back in the Day Pioneer was the high end tv to go. I hope they come up with midrange and high end models in the future.
I have the 50 inch version that I got last Black Friday for only $179 from best buy. Great 4k HDR, solid blacks and vibrate color. As for the xumo part, that's it's weak link. Slow interface, can't add apps, the OTA channel list is not editable...so be prepared to thumb past garbage channels in guide. I paired it w a $20 Walmart onn 4k tv stick/puck - which is very good allows adding apps etc. Only use xumo for OTA and Pluto TV as it doesn't show ads for on demand shows. Not sure why, but sometimes Pluto sees it as an ad blocker and won't play show. But a relaunch of Pluto can fix. Thinking that Pluto doesn't work on updates to xumo so hopefully this feature will live on. I also use it as my Mac mini media display and is very capable. Hard to go wrong with this tv...with a 4k onn puck. Btw the manual is sparse , couple of tips. Use voice button to launch apps, say guide for OTA guide, HDMI 1-2-3 to change inputs etc.
Wow Dolby Vision on a $200.00 dollar super budget tv but Samsung refuses to add DV to their tvs. They really think that HDR10 and 10+ is good enough. 😊
Does this tv have an option for web or internet? Like a fire stick lets you have Amazon “silk” I use the internet to watch movies from time to time…can’t find it here.
Problem with mine. 2 faint almost transparent, but visible bands/lines going horizontal on the screen. So I'm returning it to buy another one and see if it has that same problem
Decent TV. Good for bedroom. Watching and waiting for the release, review and comparison of Sony's X95M (hopefully) with other TVs, including the X95L.
it is going to be this one or the Toshiba C350 . my buying point is that it still has composite input. I still like to view my vcr and laserdisc movies. Im through with Hisense ,which I currently use but it will not play anything through My Yamaha receiver. Any HDMI device has to plug directly to tv HDMI ports. Thank You Sir for this informative video.
Tech Steve..... wanted your opinion on this. I purchased the 65 inch brand new.... the manual says that it does NOT come with mounting screws, but mine came with mounting screws already screwed into the back of tv which gave me the impression I was sent a used tv when purchased brand new, what are thoughts?
Hey how do you think this 65" would compare with the Samsung of similar value? Or even the Hisense which is much closer in price. Half tempted to pull the trigger and just give this pioneer I try. I do have a decent Samsung sound bar which the Q-syphony option might be worth sticking with but I have a pretzel in my head looking at all the great values that are available out here.
Steve, I had an idea. If you have an old 1080p kicking around it would be interesting to do a comparison with a new 4k tv on how far technology as come.

Question, it was mentioned that a person to use this TV would need to create a XUMO account? Are there any modern TVs 65" or larger where you don't need to do this? My only use for the TV will be to watch movies via my DVD or Blu-ray player and once in a while using a separate roku device, thanks for any information.
Nice video! I figured it out actually in the settings. The input options disappear and the tv starts from the last input that was being used and you do not have to use the remote.

Ok guys. I have this tv and this is what I have learned recently that may not be immediately obvious in the short time I have had it. If Dolby Vision is active. You picture settings become EXTREMELY limited. More than mentioned in the video. Two options only. Bright and dark. And dark is not dark enough in a dark room. Secondly, the TV’s CEC control is very limited. Only seems to work for the Power button. Volume and Input is not supported. This was tested through a Chromecast 4K and the only way to get it to work was IR support which is not the end of the world but it does mean the remote must be pointed at the tv.
You can use it to access any TV service. Its quite literally a Google Chromecast minus Dolby vision . It actually scores slightly higher on Benchmark score than the Chromecast as well .@@DavidHernandez-oc1oz
