    I've seen this fire video on ShapPhoto's channel and it's cool to see it from different angles. Seeing the old school snorkel go to work is pretty amazing. This looked like one HELL of a big fire.

    2:12 I love the hard suction hose used chicago style on a pressurized hydrant, not many examples of this and very few departments use this technique but the large diameter lower pressure hydrant design of Chicago makes them capable of amazing flows with skill. Cool and thank you.

    MultiMonster69 Turret wagon or deluge wagon has 2 large deck guns to throw a heavy stream of water, hose wagon come from engine 26 & engine 81's house the old snorkel is from engine 35's house, turret from engine 108 & engine 104

      Turret wagons are no longer in service the CFD removed them from service when the Chicago civil defense went out of service because the current wagons were used only by the civil defense.

      Chicago just put 2 new turret wagons in service last year at 6-7-3 w/ Engine 108 & 6-7-6 w/ Engine 104, check your info

    • @tevanothebest2757

      ChicagoScanner nope not true as why the dispatcher did not send one when he was requesting one he asked a turrent wagon in a form of a questin thats why one was not there.

    • @tevanothebest2757
      @tevanothebest2757 9 лет назад

      ChicagoScanner there no longer in service after the civil defense went out anyways a turrent wagon is no match for what a snorkel can do today

    • @tevanothebest2757
      @tevanothebest2757 9 лет назад

      ChicagoScanner and by the way there very slow to even drive as the trucks were made in the 40s and by the way nobody makes them anymore and by the way they don't have the green light on it which makes it not up to Chicago code.next time check your info your trying to say that companies are still making turrent wagons when they don't anymore current wagons are no match for today's technology.

    The official term is Mobile Ventilation Unit (MVU), but I love the other name they use for it, "Smoke Ejecter".

    old warehouse, boarded up windows, either a bad electrical works or a transients sausage burning out of control. Looks hot.
    While investigating, how do they assess the flashover risk with enclosed brick housings like this?

  • @xheralt
    @xheralt 11 лет назад

    Hose wagon is a hose carrier, needed if you're running lines in and/or from distant hydrants. I'm guessing that "turret wagon" is an alternative term for deluge unit? Not the usual CFD terminology, maybe invented on spot based on other rigs being called wagons?

      David Dunn this is explained by how one did not show up when the firefighter requested for one also explained by how the dispatcher kinda said a turrent wagon in a form of a question.
