- I take a look at the Aoyi Mech / Blackmamba LS13, the oversized Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime. This figure goes by the name Star Knight, Tactical Commander, and Star Commander.
Please note this figure DOES have an ABDOMINAL crunch, mine was just very stiff.

Thanks for actually swapping the heads, I was wondering why no one else(that I've watched anyway) ever switches the heads to show what it looks like on the figure and now I guess I know why...because the standard "less accurate" head looks way better. I wish they had just knocked off the sculpt from the 3a version which I'm under the impression toy world did. Maybe when I get one of these in hand I'll modify the standard head using some of the alternate to make a hybrid of the 2 so I can get what I want out of the sculpts. If one of these companies decided to just sell a ko of the 3a head that was designed to fit these o.s. Kos I would buy a couple of them in a second. The toyworld is more expensive but it's almost a 1:1 recreation of the 3a and it actually transforms. For people complaining about the price of it, it's still fairly low priced compared to official and 3rd party mps so I don't get it.

I didn't really like the truck mode of TW, the back (the lower legs) looks too thick and I prefer this cab version with the visor, plus I actually like the original head better than their new head they're including. Still great to have options.

I prefer the normal head compared to the movie one. Also looks better when you angled the smokestacks back slightly

I wouldn't say that this is a KO, more like a 3rd party. I mean, despite the (unavoidable) similarities in transformation, it looks like a different mold.
it’s mostly just upscaled and modified like black mamba typically does, i’d still call it a KO
Adding more hinges and paint doesn’t make it original.

Loved that review Ben. But I saw some mistransformation on the central smokestack, it should be flipped outside, and the small pieces on the side of the foot wherein, you can flip those small piece down to accomodate the rotation in transformation. Still a good review nonetheless. Thumbs up!
How do you unhook the leg (blue shin) to form the back of the truck that covers the head? Mine is so tight that it can’t be lifted.
I'll wait until WeiJiang's Model Wizard M09 Fire Scorpion gets reviewed to see which KO Upscaled Studio Series Bumblebee Optimus Prime is the best!!!

If toy labs finished model looks everything like their renders and proto, then they will have an awesome Optimus Prime. The bot mode looks great and the truck mode looks amazing, by far one of the closest to a real looking Freightliner for a Prime.

Fire scorpion has lose joints.. I think this aoyi mech version is more stable
I preordered this from showz a long time ago, but I guess I didn’t get the first batch, so I am still waiting.
Wei jiang wins the leg ADDITIONS like chrome and rubber tires, chrome on the rims/gas tanks, but aoyi definitely wins the glossy chrome/metallic finish, NEW FOOT REMODEL! Wow. If aoyi had those, I'd gush sooo much over it, but I'm satisfied with it as-is. I love how they retooled certain parts, truly impressed at them. well they are Black Mamba, who is also Transform Element FYI. Not impressed since they are so talented. I cant wait to buy Toyworld Freedom leader, and 3a DLX Prime tho, just wanna wait till it's in-stock.
Hi Ben / any other owner. My LS13 Star Knight arrived today. The LED lights in the head blinked and then shut down, since replacing the batteries with new, it still wont work. I failed to notice the positioning of the batteries. Is anyone able to confirm the direction they should both face? (I have tried every each possible way but want to return it as it was received)
I’m so glad you discussed the wheels. I’ve seen several reviews and didn’t buy because I hate the cybertron wheels. Now I can buy with confidence that I can remove them and make him look like the Earth model :D
Be aware of the swinging shoulder panels tho, they have a tendency to break if not careful

hi,between this and the mpm upscaled ls03 from black mamba ,which do you think its a better buy?i found them on alliexpres for around 70 dollars each,so thats a tie,im a bit worried about the leg piece on ls13 (the one that connects the feet)because it seems quite wobbly . from your experience with them which would you rebuy if you were to choose?

What type of batteries are required? Mine came without. Do they differ from head, gun and axe or are the same? Cheers

I think this figure looks great but I don't like 6 things about it:
1. The chest sticks too far out from the stomach.
2. Shoulder movement outwards isn't all the way.
3. No ratchets in the knees.
4. Backwards leg movement requires unhinging his torso/abdomen.
5. The chest windows do not get the angling that it needs.
6. What's up with those Batman rims?
I do like this better than the wj in the rear of the truck mode. It looks the wj will have exposed robot legs, granted it still looks nice but I prefer the added tranformation steps to hide the legs.
I am really interested in seeing the toy lab version. Hopefully the quality and price will make it worth the wait.
F toyworld's price and the truck with feet hanging off the back looks like crap. It's not even in the running as far as I'm concerned. If it was $100 it would still have stiff competition but at like $170 to $185 get real tw.

Why are you getting so pissed at toyworld. Have you seen that damn prime. It basically looks like a statue. The paint is top notch and its a massive figure. If it was 100 itd have stiff competition. No it woudnt everyone would buy that damn thing. I dont like the feet hanging off either but i pre ordered it still. Honestly i feel the feet thing is a nit pick cause most collectors dont have there transformers in vehicle mode and the engineering is insane. Stop being a nit picky baby and just dont buy it.
Edit: the figure also has a ridiculous amount of accessories. I say the price is highly justifiable.

Hey Ben. At 5:15. Which Prime figure (out of the 3) is the one to our right? You said it’s from toyworld, but it looks like the Threezero bumblebee movie DLX optimum prime.
This figure honestly is kinda made pointless with Weijang's next prime (yes they are making BB prime again) and Toyworlds almost statue-like upcoming release. Just can't compete with them.
It depends on how much money you want to shell out for one. Toyworld's almost twice the price.

I think Wei Jiang is working on another version of this on their line MO# series. The series that brought us the M01. From the pics, I think that would rival this BMB model.

I just wonder, can you make a video about size comparison of every KO tranformers? The BMB and the weijiang of course, cuz there's no video like it in youtube and I've been searching for it forever. I really want my collection to be in scale from one another, and perhaps the video will help collector which consider size and scale. Unfair comparison to 3A, but really nice
I got the Toyworld Freedom Leader and I can say TW did a great job in the Robot mode but the Alt mode everything looks good except the rear of the truck as the feet is over hanging and made the truck wayyyy too long, kinda sucks...

I have both Ayoi and WeiJiang, partly due to a pathological need to own them all but to be honest, this Ayoi Mech is bleeding amazing. It is really very good. I would be willing to put my reputation on the line and say you'll love it, if this is the figure line you're into. These 3p companies really do a stellar job, and this is no difference. I really love mine

Hey Ben, I’m having an impossible time with the right foot rotating when transforming to vehicle mode. Any tips?
Basically the ankle rotation is stiff af and doesn’t move
@@4lat4oot My advice, remove the little screw under the foot and the little blue cap and put some WD40 (or some oil with a Q-tip) inside, it should help to rotate the ankle.
It does look better but I personally don't see the need to replace my WJ Autobot Apex. For those who haven't got one, yeah the Aoyi is the better choice. For me it's a now battle between TW and Fire Scorpion before I consider giving the WJ Autobox Apex a custom Nemesis repaint.
Arion Wong WJ bought the “figure rights”’ from Fire Scorpion, so WJ is gonna have two options instead of one... I do think that the 2nd WJ version will be the best of the three

Not sure if you specified, but the tires look plastic? Not a fan of that by Aoyi. I like the premium feel of rubber tires unless theres a transformation aspect that requires otherwise.

I own this figure and the tires are rubber. It has die-cast in the feet as well for stability.
Such a fun version! Yeah the ankles are tricky to even turn and position for transformation. Unfortunately the pivot point on the shoulder panels are very brittle and I've had to install a longer screw to repair mine after it broke off from the 1st transformation.

I ordered this piece and sadly it came with the right leg broken at the hip :-(
I don't want to blame who I got it from or call them out because it could have been an accident and they are definitely going to send me the part to fix it....but obviously I have to do it myself cuz they're based in China lol, I wonder if it's hard

Thing is, they can do lights, which can be absolutely beautiful, especially if they're in the figures head, or they can do sounds, which are low quality (in my opinion) and can be a bad thing if they get sued for copyright for using the sound

Well, it depends, IMO, the LS series is great, and this is a remold of SS38, and is basically the poor mans Freedom Leader (and thats not a bad thing!). There's also a nemesis prime version coming in either later this month or in September, if you'd prefer that.

@@cantinaoftransformers8661 No problem, you can find the pre-order for the LS13B/Nemesis version, or you can get the current LS13/Optimus, both costing $80, or you can also get it on AliExpress for 70-80 if you find a good sale on it!
Or, If you'd prefer, you get a 1:1 (same size as the original) KO of the Hasbro mold with a bit of diecast metal and at a much cheaper price, called H6001-4, or you can get the other 1:1 KO of the SS38 Hasbro mold, but in Nemesis prime colors (which I bought for about $12 with AliExpress coupons and is being shipped to me), called H6001-4B. They are also by Aoyi Mech, but not in the LS series

They're not that much. Sirtoys are pretty good and most of the time (MOST OF THE TIME) you don't pay import tax. I've probably paid import tax in one out of maybe 50 models. Really it's worth getting from the sellers directly

I've to say that Aoyi Mech bumblebee Optimus Prime is the most accurate one. 🤔
3A is the most screen accurate version. It just depends if you want a highly articulated figure that looks like on par with the likes of sideshow collectables, or if you're more after a transformer that transforms. They're both great choices. Personally I'll be going for the 3A version.

I can confirm that there is ab crunch and it's held in real tight.
If you look at the crotch from the side you'll see the line where it separates, it's scary at first but with a little force it will undo

How are the ankles? Should we be worried about them??
It's easy to miss and it's clicked in very tightly, but it does have a full waists crunch hinge.
I'm so disappointed that none of these 3rd party/KO companies made one version which would scale with the MP line, one that's about 23 cm, slightly shorter than MP-10/MP-44. :'(

Technically the 23 cm one is MPM scale because the Knightverse designs are midgets.
Hey Ben. You mentioned a side remark about the TW Prime coming out being sensitive, or something like that.
They only thing circulating now is that same painted prototype. If that's correct then it may well be worth the price.

In this figure I don't like headscope
It's nice but it's way way too big. If it was half the size at that complexity and sculpt it'd be amazing.
Ben, I think there's one more "KO" version, made by Wei Jiang, coming out. Their version has more "grungy" or "battle damaged" look:

I hope you can do a comparison review between this figure, and all the other versions that are out (including official, 3P and KO).
I'm not sure if the "Wei Jiang" version you featured here (the "original" OSKO version of these figures) is actually made by Wei Jiang. I think it's a different company.

Aoyi did better with the legs than ToyWorld. Yet the backpack is kinda off...
Maybe a teenu tiny drop of loctite can help w those ankles.
Thanks for the review!!! I can't get over his feet. They replaced the weird square feet with clown feet. :/ Why can't we get normal looking Prime feet?!? Toyworld Freedom Leader looks like it might be better.
I made the mistake to order the simple oversized version of the ss-38 as it first showed up on AliExpress. Thought they gave it an upgrade but was pretty much disappointed ☹️
So I ordered this one too and man it is awesome and priced fair. ToyWorld is stupidly expensive with a shitload of stuff that comes with it for quadruple the price of this. Aoyi has been able to add so many details into the mold. Feels kinda masterpiece like. Reminds me of what Wei Jiang did with the evasion mode prime 😉
