Plot:
On the run in the year of 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie, on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken.

Bumblebee is a 2018 American science fiction action film centered on the Transformers character of the same name. It is the sixth installment of the live-action Transformers film series, and was developed as a spin-off and prequel, later declared a reboot of the franchise. I love how they did Optimus in this, he’s not brutally murdering his enemies left right and centre like in the other movies, he’s simply quick and efficient, which I feel suits him a lot more. Can’t wait to see some more of him in Rise Of The Beasts.

One thing i love about this Cybertron is that, despite the entire planet being one giant piece of tech, there's no light pollution and you can see right into space, unlike Earth where cities are heavily light polluted and only the bright stars are visible. It really shows just HOW advanced the Cybertronians are through such small, unnecessary (but appreciated) details.

First of all, it's light less becoz there is no atmosphere required for them to be alive. Second may be the sun's absence as our earth's atmosphere reflects the sun beams on our planet.

I like that they took the organic, living metal look of the bayformers, mixed with original G1 designs. Perfect blend of cartoon and realism
Bayverse has amazing mechanical detail combine that with g1 and we have the best designs possible especially optimus best design for him ever

Note how when Soundwave, Shockwave and Starscream appear, Optimus immediately orders the autobots to fall back. Just shows that they are truly warriors to be feared as decepticons.

@@nemesisprime4501 They may not be megatron, but each are megatrons right hands for a reason. Seeing all three is a threat and them working to a common goal is just as bad as megatron being there himself.
The thing I love about how they animated Optimus in the G1 design is how even though it’s the bulkiest and blockiest design, they still made him both very flexible, and mobile. He flipped over some poor Decepticon, put him in a headlock, and then threw him over his body, despite being one of the larger Cybertronians that exist. Absolutely killer, and I want more.
Bro honestly I loved 99% of the designs from the bumblebee movie execpt for Optimus . Like I never understood why Travis knight didn’t use the concept art for Optimus where he had a cybertronian alt mode . Instead what he did was just copy and paste the g1 design which isn’t good

I love how detailed this movie is. When Optimus sees Soundwave show up with Shockwave *and* Starscream, he genuinely sounds worried/afraid of them, and the way his eyes widen. He knows that the deceptions brought out the big guns

If you don’t well back then the cartoons had these cuts between voices and background sounds so it was awkward but I found some of them watchable

I have to say...
Michael Bay's *TRANSFORMERS* (1st film) is the 'only' Movie of his that atmosphered like the Original. Sure they didn't fully Blocky but Optimus is still like 'Optimus'.
A few memorable Blocky part of his body. His voice and attitude. And the First Earth Truck he transformed into looks much closer to his original self.

Well in this one he was more of a Melee-Combative meaning his deadly in hand-to-hand combat, for Range engagement his weapon was Light just to suit his Role and Size. Bee manage to kill Blitzwing thanks to his own Munition and Bee's Light Cannon to cause massive damage.
How are we going to expect Bee to kill targets BIGGER and ROBUST that him to taken down easily by him.
And in this universe, his much smaller meaning less powerful(large) Range weapons at his disposals compare to his Bay's universe's Bee.
Conclusion is : Travis Knight's Bumblebee is more capable in Melee combat instead of Range combat so even he was TINY to most Transformers, he's very much dangerous to any other Deception other than by the likes of Megatron, Soundwave, Shockwave, Starscream and some others.

Whoever designed this movie, has done much better work, than Michael Bay: i can see the perfect example of Transformers, even they're sounded like their G1 counterparts: Arcee, Optimus, Brawn, Ratchet, Soundwave, Shockwave - all have same voices, as their cartoon originals. Even transformation sounds close to those from G1 cartoon. My compliments to the crew on the well done job.
God bless Peter Cullen’s voice for bringing such a perfect character such as Optimus Prime to life.

Please, on behalf of all Transformers fans, this opening scene is what we want. It's absolutely fantastic and I'd rather watch it over and over again instead of what we've been subjected to. To any director or producer, please head this call on behalf of all of us, please make more of this.

Kinda wish Starscream had his nullrays on his arms. Unless they can detach and put them of his arms.
They even managed to get Soundwave to sound right. Something that few have managed. And come on. That "Ravage, Eject" was a true treat to the ears.. I truly wish that they'd make a movie about the war to retake Cybertron from the D:s someday. With this style of CG that would be truly epic.

I'm used to Soundwave's WoC voice, which is deeper, but at least they remembered that there's an awful lot of autotune involved.
What I love best about the Cybertron duel is that Optimus, despite being rushed down by like thirty or more Decepticons, he escaped ALL of them and made it off the planet ALIVE.
Shatter and Dropkick were part of the Decepticons who surrounded him
The visuals for both autobots and decepticons were amazing. Cybertron and the sounds were spectacular. Really an amazing throwback to the G1 cartoon.
They need to make a transformers movie where it's just the Autobots facing the decepticons on Cybertron with the classic designs and no humans.

@@TheMADMonkeyLOL when this movie first came out they didn't know whether it would be a reboot or a prequel that's why they couldn't add Megatron to this scene because if this movie was a prequel Megatron is currently frozen in ice.

Hence why Megatron was not present during the opening battle, as he would be frozen in the Hoover dam by sector 7 which make an appearance in the film. Later on it was decided that the film would be a soft reboot for the franchise.

I think my favourite detail with this primes appearances is how he aims. You notice, while fast, he does actually line up the shot and make sure it’ll hit. I feel like it makes him feel more like a general in this case.
something else I just noticed, at 3:55 you can see shatter running towards prime in a more cybertronain mode, which means she left to hunt auto bots after they all escaped.
The fact they got Corey Burton to voice Shockwave for that one line is what does it for TFA fans.
Shockwave and Soundwave were voiced by Jon Bailey, a Transformers fan/voice actor. This was just that good a job.
@@ewashock I'm oldschool. 1985, watching the old G1. I could barely tell a difference on either of them from the old days... and they were voiced by completely different people back then! "That good a job" doesn't come close to cutting it.

Even though we didn't get very many scenes with Optimus Prime what little we do see shows how much of a badass this Optimus is especially at 3:35.

What I love about this Optimus is he's not an outright butcher like the Bay movies, he's much more efficient and quick. I always thought it was _really weird_ that Optimus would go so far as to rip someone's face off or coldly execute anybody, even Megatron or Sentinel Prime.
Yeah, it's extremely out of character.
Optimus is someone who cherishes life above all else. He does not enjoy killing and so if he is forced to kill, he'll do it as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I grew up with Bayverse Prime so I thought Prime was always like a butcher.
I was surprised to see just how gentle he is when he kills his opponents… quick and efficient, no suffering whatsoever.
@@thechaddevil9974 It was always my impression that when Optimus was revived in RotF that he didn't quite come back as the same "person" because he didn't butcher his enemies until he came back. There's no canonical evidence for this theory, it's just something I like to think because it can help explain how different he is before he dies and after in the Bayverse.
Bayformers is just a decepticon in a Optimus Prime skin, completely disrespectful to the original character.

@@radiantz9047 maybe I exaggerated a bit, but I feel like it beats the purpose with making the "live action" version. Everything seems to be computer generated, and yes very impressive, but I still feel disappointed with the animal faces that don't express emotion very well, lack of "be prepared", and the entirety of Rafiki's character.
Other problems I have, are more related to the dub version on my country but I will spare you those details.
They absolutely nailed the design of the transformers in this movie. The looks are very reminiscent of the classic transformers cartoons something that Michael Bay’s transformers were lacking. The problem with Michael Bay’s is that they look too human. In this movie they look just right not too robotic not too humanoid.
Wdym? In this they literally already look like human vehicles, while in bays they originally are gray and have undefined figures

This is the best 5 minutes of transformers on the big screen I think we will ever get. Why the movie makers don't seem to understand that we would rather watch the hell out of this all robot story for 2 hours instead of 90% humans and non canon bot characters I will never understand.

@OXO SAN no its still subjective. Millions of people still prefer the realistic design of the transformers in bayverse films. It makes them more of an advanced alien race with their intricacy and multitude of moving parts than just mere simplistic robots. Sure it can be problematic sometimes when trying to identify the individual transformers especially the decepticons when most of them are dull grey and are being killed several minutes after. The autobots at least are distinsguishable among themselves as they are made up of different colour designs. Optimus prime in bayverse has better design than most of the robots in knightverse. I can see why G1 fans prefer the designs in knightverse but dont act like its a fact ALL people like the knightverse designs more because that is simply not true.
@OXO SAN no thats not true. If majority prefer the G1 designs than the bayverse designs than the former movies wont sell which does not seems to be the case. The trilogy alone gained billions of dollars of profit. The majority of fans are casuals who prefer the realistic transfomers in bayverse films

Ever since rise of dark spark (the latest transformer game that fucking flopped the whole series) came out they sort of fused the two together, they had a cybertron campaign that was the best part and then garabge earth campaign at least imo

Watching this Movie for the first time made me smile so much. My Inner child from the 80s was jumping up and down watching this. They really went all out to give you that G1 Transformers feeling how it should had been from the start. I hope Rise of The Beast is just as good as this movie is or Better. Peter Cullen will always be the Best Prime voice. I grew up watching his Optimus Prime back in the 80s. No one does this voice better.

What, instead of a terrifying 40ft tall helicopter destroying an entire military base, a intimidated all black police car, a roller skating psychopath, a classic acting Starscream and and a megatorn all the autobots were terrified of, we get some random arse seeker, and 2 triple changers, one who doesn't do anything and one whos about on par.And they fight with all the weight and intensity of skids and mudflaps scrapping in ROTF.
The film still has all of the issues bay formers had with none of the positives. Worse transformations, they somehow managed to crate a family more irritating than sams in ROTF, bumblebee acts like a twat in a house for no reason but to progress the plot, the heroes have no goals, the action is boring, and the bare bone plot is the same as TF07 if you think about it for half a second, with none of the action. They threw all the good stuff in the bay films to get one developed human character whos barley better than sam. give me the first 3 any day. This was only better than AOE.

actually i watched the rise of the beasts trailer again and there is a scene with some autobots walking with prime and he looks a lot better
Pretty sure the change was because the animation company responsible for the character designs in Bumblebee was replaced by another company, thus meaning they couldn’t use these models unfortunately. I’m pretty sure the final result will look better however, we’ve still got another 6-7 months until the movie comes out.

Re-watched the trailer, the part where he’s falling down the cliffside appears to have an updated design. If you look closely his legs look fully blue as opposed to the grey seen in the beginning of the trailer.

YipThr33 Productions actually those were Soundwave’s Troops that Megatron just controls because he’s the main leader.
Gezi5 Starscream is one of Megatrons Lieutenants, holding the position as the sky commander. He’s in charge of, well the seekers. Soundwave is in charge of planning and espionage. Shockwave is head of scientific endeavors.
This Optimus is just as badass without the brutality.

Alot of these designs are a mix of G1 and the War for Cybertron games, absolutely perfect.

This is how you make a money printing machine. Give us the nostalgia feels of what we love while making it look badass. The fact I could recognize Wheeljack and Brawn in this scene says a lot when in the last five films I had trouble deciphering what I was supposed to be looking at half the time.
