    I was able to set this monitor into an amazing state. This is how I did it. This will make everything pop and look really really good! If you enjoy HDR for that matters. This will enable HDR on EVERYTHING you are looking at, all videos on youtube for an example and all games will show HDR even the games that are not supported.

    Its great to see they brought over the settings they use for their OLED TVs. I prefer using active tone mapping for example as it gives a much higher APL. This works best when using the light sensor so you can set it to max brightness for daytime viewing and lower brightness for the evening. A shame this monitor doesn't have the light sensor though.

      No, I didn't find it obtrusive. I've used many OLED models and this one wasn't overly aggressive with its pixel shifting in my view. Obviously individual sensitivity varies and I'm quite used to such behaviour now, but there have been models I've used and actively noticed the behaviour a bit too much so I've had to disable or change the setting. No, I found it perfectly comfortable as with most OLEDs. But I don't specifically use or require "low brightness". The brightness regulation is the same as other OLEDs - small cyclical brightness dips, nowhere near as dramatic as PWM. Most people find them perfectly comfortable (especially for higher refresh rates), even those sensitive to traditional PWM.

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  3 месяца назад +4

      Doesn't make a difference what you select unless you're a content creator and can actually use 10-bit for SDR. The vast majority of SDR content is 8-bit so it won't matter - if you select 10-bit it won't do you any harm, though. We provide ICC profiles in our review - feel free to use them if you wish and keep them if you prefer how things look. Most people would be happy not using them and they can potentially make some undesirable changes due to inter-unit variation. They're most useful for people who need the most accurate colour output and wish to use the gamut mapping for colour-aware applications. But if colour accuracy is important you'd get much better results profiling your own monitor with your own colorimeter or similar device.

    Hi, I have a problem with this monitor. When I turn off the monitor from the menu using the button on the back, the core lights on the back continue to light up for a long time (about 20 minutes) and when I press the button on the back again to make sure the monitor is off, the menu opens after a short while without the Samsung logo, then I close it again and the same thing happens. Have you experienced this, is this normal? Does standby mode prevent damage to the screen? Because as you know, leaving the screen on for a long time on oled monitors can cause permanent damage to the screen. Do you turn off your oled g6 device from the menu after turning off your computer or do you leave it in standby mode by itself?
