Game Standard mode does some weird things to colors, in particular blue levels. Its not something that is fixable. It turns Medium Turquoise into something akin to Tourmaline or Andrea Blue. Which basically eradicates any visible green. If it was a mild shift in colors I wouldnt even bother saying anything but its a night and day thing. This happens with contrast enhancer set to high on the graphics/eco setting, but turning off contrast enhancer in game standard mode keeps the color blue forward still. I wish they documented these settings better, but its always fun to see what other people tend to enjoy using.
Yep, kinda of spot on. I had to calibrate it to have a good color. Out of the box, had some issues. the osd lacks aome festures, but i do not care about most of them. I knew about the finish, i actually wanted it. But considering the price, if you calibrate it, all is fine. Ps: the g8 has other features, i believe that it is also better calibrated, thus better reviews.
My friend snagged this and I snagged the G80SD. We have both been enjoying the picture quality. I calibrated my unit with a SpyderX Elite and everything matches up with the claims. The viewing angles are the best I have experienced and the colors still look vibrant even after color calibration which typically makes a display look dull. My only real complaints are the lack of usb support for single cable solutions for laptops and handheld PCs, the fact that the KVM disconnects every time you press the setting button on the remote, and the Smart TV software bogging down the monitor experience on the G80SD.
