Honestly it would be great to see both story lines play out in two separate games, a Atreus, Tyr and Thrud spinoff in Norse mythology (possibly with smaller surrounding mythologies being explored) and another GoW game in a new mythology (probably Egyptian next) with Kratos. Imagine a co-op game with Atreus, Tyr and Thrud (with AI fill in if you want to play solo.) Built properly, it could be amazing.

I think they game is portraying everyone except Odin as misunderstood. Baldur was cursed by his mother and had promises made by Odin that he couldn’t fulfill, Magni and Modi just serve the All-Fathers will, and Thor is a father that turned to alcohol after being told to kill so many for Odin.

Balder might’ve still been screwed up because of Freya, but Thor and his sons probably would’ve turned out a lot better without Odin. Thor's family's weapons are just kinda heavy. I think Thrudd is already helping when they lifted Thor to his house so if Atreus lifted him all alone, he wouldn't make it.

I think they game is portraying everyone except Odin as misunderstood. Baldur was cursed by his mother and had promises made by Odin that he couldn’t fulfill, Magni and Modi just serve the All-Fathers will, and Thor is a father that turned to alcohol after being told to kill so many for Odin.
@@sergiopirela5864 I agree. Odin was always a manipulator and move people around for his own uses. Balder might’ve still been screwed up because of Freya, but Thor and his sons probably would’ve turned out a lot better without Odin.
On a sidenote I really like that they’re showing Thor as being this sad alcoholic. It just gives him more depth and that he isn’t the vengeful killing machine that was talked about in the first game.

They were shown in the myths more akin to really strong humans and they tended to interact on an equal standing basis with normal people more often than the Greek Gods who were more like separate divine entities who see humans like their personal toys.
Like while Greek God’s often toyed with and threatened people in comparison in one myth Thor basically got into the Norse equivalent of a roasting match with a random man on a boat who didn’t want to help him get across only to end with the dude telling him to just cope and go around the river.
