I still carry my default card. Sometimes I need to return things, so you need the actual card. Sometimes they don't have Apple Pay at the till, so you need the actual card. Luckily most places take it now, but I don't leave it to chance.

Love this very easy to follow and learn tutorial. Hate those long drawn out tutorials which I still don't know anymore than I did before I clicked on it so thanks this video was VERY VERY HELPFUL. Nice and simple explanation, thank you! I had some issues with Apple Pay at the beginning, it often took two or three tries until the payment worked. The simple reason for me: I didn't look at my phone while paying. When you use Apple Pay, Face ID expects you to look at the phone. My simple solution: 1. Double-click the right button. 2. Look at the phone until the screen says "Hold Near Reader". 3. Hold the top end of the phone near the contactless symbol on the reader. Now Apple Pay works a lot quicker and smoother for me.
sounds dumb but i have the same problem. (coming from android), Every time i try to pay at the cashiers with my phone it doesnt work because the first thing i do is holding my phone near the reader, and then my card pops up on the screen, and even if the face id check is done, nothing happens afterwards. It just keep saying "hold near reader" but nothing happens. So next time i will try your solution :) Thanks

I was trying to double tap the screen rather than the home button 😭😂 But the cashier helped me out. Amazing times we live in. You can forget your wallet but still buy things.

I use Samsung Pay and I just love the ability to not take out my wallet and grab that card.! Best time to be alive.
Instead you now have to take out your phone and hold that to the scanner.
Wow, what a time saver. You can shave off at least a few seconds with every payment you make.

I use Apple Pay for a while now. It's a lot safer than credit cards.
Some credit card readers have to scam thingies that can wipe out your money in a second. It's cool that I can pay items with my phone :)

Life saver. I left my card at home and got a milkshake, and then by the time I realized I couldn’t pay for it, I panicked because I Al had already drank some of it (thinking I had my card) I take my phone everwhere, and set up Apple Pay but didn’t know how it worked.
I love the fact that if I forget or lose my wallet it can still use the cards, setting this up just for that alone

Thx, just bought some stuff on a late night run, and I haven’t ever used it before.
So, I have four cards set up in the wallet and I haven't seen a video yet that explains what I have to do when I "just simply" hold my phone (which I am assuming is just open) to the scanner. Will it open up and ask me which card to use? Do I have to already have chosen which card to use? How would I do that prior to getting inline?

When I tried to pay Apple Pay on goat but it says “hold near reader” but there’s so reader since it’s online what do I do??
go to checkout and find the button that says "apple pay" and tap on it and it should just ask you to use face id or touch id to confirm your purchase. Then it should be payed for. It shouldn't ask to hold near card reader as it should know you are not in a shop because it's online!
now they need to be able to have your drivers license on your phone, then there would be no use for a wallet, it would be amazing.
Apple Pay is awesome. It makes using my IPhone X in stores like Skechers so easy. I recommend trying to use this often!

The one thing I don’t understand is the one thing none of the tutorials including this one explain. How do you get it on your screen when the phone is unlocked? Lock Screen I figured out double tap the home button. Unlocked in this tutorial he said double tap the power button. All that does for me is lock my phone. If your phone is locked or unlocked, either way does it automatically come up if your phone is near a reader?
And if that’s the case by it doesn’t, Any advice?

Mine would not work at the gas station, I tried two gas stations and no luck . I had left my wallet at home and was in need of some gas so has very fast. But ultimately I could not get it to work.

Try to look in setting if you have the correct ‘Country and Region’. The ‘+’ button should appear in the Wallet App. You can now add a card! You need IOS 10 and above, IPhone 6 and above!
Totally helped me make this purchase after my daughter sent me money with Apple Pay knowing I don’t know how to use it, she’s a witch!
This method come handy in pandemic as you can avoid touching vendors’ dirty keypads with your hands.

Everyone should still bring their cards with them. I work at Michael’s and we don’t have tap. I go through about 20 people a day who can’t buy their items because they only have their phones. Everyone please still bring a card with them
Always bring your card, this is sort of just an option if you forget yours (always check the stores your going to in order to see if they have an apple pay method before shopping for items, tends to save you and the the employees a headache).
