    Very informative video, thank you. I've been using Google Pay for a couple of years now and I love it. Here in Australia, it's pretty much accepted everywhere. I find it more secure for the reason you said, my phone needs to be open to use it and only I can open my phone. I still carry my wallet with me though, mainly because of my Driver's license (digital licenses are still on trial here and I haven't been invited yet) Also, I like to carry a bit of cash on me, in case I need it. Another good reason to use Phone payments is it saves wear and tear on your card, they last longer.

    App supports adding multiple cards (personal and business). The device like the one you showed will get nothing if the app isn't on and trigger that configuration prompt when the app is on.

    I've never asked if they accept Google Wallet in the shops in the UK. I assumed that if they accepted Chip and Pin it will work and it always has done. The banks and government have increased our tap and pay limit to £100 which I think is too high . I'm not sure if Google have increased this without the need to unlock the device or not. 3:54 You can store your CC info in a locked note in Notes on iPhone or OneNote on Android. You can then only access the note using biometrics / password. Availability is an issue in the US but it will eventually be solved because it **is** the future as the payment monopoly will be broken, like it is internationally. I use GPay whenever I can because I can review my purchases by merchant across all cards. This makes it really easy to find out how much I spent on groceries at the end of the month because GPay consolidates all the info for me. I don't have to look at different CC statements.

    3:00 In Russia, there is a law that obliges banks to set up bank terminals to accept contactless payments (including via a smartphone). Therefore, if the store has a terminal, then in any case you can pay with Apple Pay / Google Pay / Samsung Pay (before sanctions). Thanks to this, the number of places where Apple Pay is accepted (6 months after the launch) in Russia overtook the number of places in the USA (Apple Pay has been there for 2 years already). P.S. After the imposition of sanctions, almost nothing has changed (Google Pay was replaced by MirPay on Android)

    Where I work, we accept Apple Pay, but not Google. However, I recently had two customers who attempted Apple Pay, but the payment wouldn't go through. We then had to resort to payment with their cards. I don't know what caused the failure, since the cards they used were the same ones they had set up for Apple Pay.

    India has become a leader in digital payments using UPI (Unified payment interface). It is an instant real-time payment system developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The interface facilitates inter-bank peer-to-peer (P2P) and person-to-merchant (P2M) transactions.

    Have an Rsl card loaded into Wallet app on my android. If you dont write down the balance when you first start using the card, you cant get the balance of funds available. You can see transactions when u start but cant get a balance. So write down how much you have spent and deduct it so u know what the balance is.
    The help info on wallet tells you to contact you financial institution, but that cant be done if for example an Rsl rewards card is given to you.

    @3:55 not entirely true you cannot view all credit cards in your wallet in iOS. With the Apple Card you can open the wallet and see the full "card number" which is associated with your Apple Card (which in reality is a Goldman Sachs backed Mastercard account). This ability is offered in the event you encounter a point of sale where you can't use contactless Apple Pay and don't have the physical card either.
    But in response to your other question, yes I continue to haul around my physical wallet as well. At 55 old habits are hard to break.

    1) Extremely high fees for the merchant.
    2) Two very well known companies for being very monopolistic once they dominate a market.
    3) Increasingly very involved with the government, which creates total control of the market. And lastly, the deeper we get into digital payments, the more monetary freedom we lose.
    Once the cash is gone, they will control us completely. Those are my reasons for not using Apple Pay or Google Pay.

      Sorry, don’t think this is true. It doesn’t cost the merchants any more, Apple charges the bank 0.15% out of the normal bank cut. That isn’t an “extremely high fee”.

      @evar7504 Год назад

      @briancoogan2784 Here I am talking about two companies, and that is without mentioning all the other banks that charge fees. But above all, the most important thing in my comment is based on the fact that these companies are gradually getting bigger and bigger and have the power to censor some groups they don't like. That is why it is important to have physical money, for which you do not pay fees when making cash transactions and that despite being a piece of paper without any intrinsic value, at least it gives you freedom and privacy, something that these huge companies do not give you.
