Literally no journalist mentioning that AA is blaming delays and cancellations on flight attendants “not showing up” for work. Why is Alaska able to catch up but not AA? Many Delta flights were delayed, but by yesterday they were taking off while AA continued to cancel rebooked flights. Just uncritically accepting that 2 hours of morning storms resulted in two days of cancellations is not journalism. Why is AA waiting until passengers are at the gate for boarding to let passengers know of a cancellation they knew about 8 hours earlier? I heard them blame staff at the gate, so someone needs to ask some deeper questions about what’s going on internally with American.

Chill, people. Sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches.

Currently stuck in Dallas. Would have been stuck in NYC but mananaged a fight, only for us to be stranded at the layover. We were meant to get home Thursday night, but are now set for Saturday afternoon.
I'm never flying American again. Never have I had to deal with their customer service and it was a hard but learned lessson, DO NOT FLY WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES!

It was a storm and people need to calm down. YES you are stuck ... but you will get there.

They are cancelling rebooked flights too. I met people who have been rebooked and cancelled for four days. I only left DFW at all because I booked with another airline. Weather was part of the problem. Something else is going on with American.

EVERY other airline was flying out, not a cloud in the sky.

My cousins going to a wedding in California are stuck for the second night. Not sure why AA didn’t reroute them to another transfer hub knowing Tuesday had horrible weather and continued bad weather was expected.

They should just go to another airline. It’s not even worth dealing with AA rebooking because there’s no guarantee they won’t get stuck at the connection.

Maybe they shouldn’t fly on bad weather days! People need to chill

It wasn’t really even a bad weather day. The storm only lasted a couple of hours and wasn’t even on radar until a day or two before.

Another airline boot-licker, don't worry AA is headed the same place as Braniff.

AA is the worst. I know no one can control the weather but it’s not like airlines don’t know to expect severe weather in the spring and should have figured out literal decades ago how to accommodate this.

What are they supposed to do? Book everybody in a hotel? There aren't enough rooms and they aren't responsible for the delays. It's like blaming Toyota or Chevy when there's traffic on the freeway.

@@andyleo8418 actually they are responsible for rebooking in a timely manner. I never claimed the delays were their fault. But those delays should also not be a surprise, especially in the southeast during tornado season. They could reasonably accommodate this by booking a small percentage of less capacity on outgoing flights and then using that wiggle room if a delay occurs. They choose not to because capitalism.
So delays? No, not their fault.
      This pile up? Absolutely.
Their lack of ability to accommodate the passengers displaced? Also absolutely.
I have experienced something similar in Atlanta and it was unavoidable to an extent. It happens in every hub. It’s also inexcusable in every hub. These are businesses that have decades of data to show expected schedules and capacities along with decades of weather history.
They just choose money over people. That’s all.

Every airline would be affected the same way and are. DFW is American's major hub, meaning most of their air craft route thru DFW, so it's a huge impact to AA when this happens, the same way Continental is affected in Houston or Delta is affected in Atlanta. You don't understand the airline industry at all if you do not understand this.

@@mostlyvoid.partiallystars what evidence do you have to say they aren't rebooking those people in a timely manner?

@@andyleo8418 observation? This particular news story where it’s mentioned? Personal experience with AA for the past decade? I also don’t have time to hang out in RUclips comments anymore. Take care.
