    Id recommend leaving the ecu map for atmospheric pressure reference and wirring another boost reference like a gm or a haltech specific one.

    • @JCYT
      @JCYT  2 года назад

      Thanks for the recommendation. Is there any reason why i need another boost reference? Shouldn't the onboard suffice?

      @@JCYT Having an atmospheric Pressure reference allows the ecu to adapt to the varrying changes due to weather/temperature.

    Nice vid mate, after getting my Spirit back with much of the same set-up as you, it makes it more understandable! 😊👍

    I have always heard to mount wideband sensors at the end of the downpipe before it meets the midpipe. This way the heat does not damage it.

    • @JCYT
      @JCYT  2 года назад

      Thanks for the message. After reading this, I actually went back to the WB1 manual and saw that they specify for sensor placement to be 1m from the turbo outlet. I have seen other manufacturers specify 1ft from the turbo and other tuners put these on the tailpipe for tuning. So logically i'm not entirely sure how much of a difference it makes given these wideband sensors are self heating. Perhaps i will relocate it :) Thanks mate

    Nice Job! On the aux connector that you added the pins to, what did you do with the remaining wire that it was connected to before? Thanks!

    • @JCYT
      @JCYT  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey mate thanks and sorry for the slow reply
      From Haltech the aux connector only has a few wires going into it with room for more. You add additional pins and new wires into the connector, so we aren't taking anything from the existing harnesses. Hope that makes sense?

      Hey there, no problem! Makes sense now. I will be getting my harness today, but I really like the way you did yours so you can disconnect it if needed. Awesome build, and thank you for the help!

    My factory ECU has been replaced with an older Adaptronics & since they got bought out & no longer around I was thinking about getting with this or the 2500 but here's my issue, the stock harness is not in the best shape so what could I do without buying a new used ECU harness for $1,500, Does Haltech offer a complete harness for our FD if I choose to take my stock harness out completely?

    • @JCYT
      @JCYT  Год назад

      Hi mate sorry for not getting back to you sooner. The factory harness can still be bought brand new but they are not cheap. I would consider what engine functions you require. If it is a street car and relatively stock, I would definitely buy a new OEM harness. If it's essentially a fully built setup where most factory functions have already been replaced ie. Deleted AC, air pump, omp, rats nest, single turbo etc - I would definitely go with Haltech's harness and just cut off what you don't need. I hope that makes sense! Wiring is frustrating, I generally like to start fresh if possible.

    why didn't you use the raceonly air temp sensor?? not compatible with the haltech? no tapping required

    • @JCYT
      @JCYT  9 месяцев назад

      Definitely could have if you didn't want to tap the manifold. I don't really have a problem with that

    I just bought an FD with Haltech Elite 2000 and its running good but the coolant fan are not working. Any tips you can give to pin point this issue? Thanks in advance!

    • @JCYT
      @JCYT  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi mate!
      It was plug and play for me with the factory engine harness, however i don't believe the Elite 2000 came with a patch loom? Sounds like it could be a wiring issue. A few things you will need to verify.
      Connect to the ECU and check whether Thermo Fan control is active under engine functions. The thermo fans are powered by the fan relay in the engine bay which is triggered by one of the DPO from your ECU. You need to check this under the wiring tab and trace the DPO wire to the fan relay with a multimeter.

    If youre somebody like me whos never touched a wiriring harness before, what do you recommend to guide somebody like me? Looking to buy the haltech 750 here soon and essentially do what you just showed

    • @JCYT
      @JCYT  Год назад

      Hey mate firstly good on you for giving it a go.
      If you have never touched a wiring harness before, make sure you read up on some basics before even touching the harness. HP Academy have some excellent and free resources on the basics.
      First of all make sure you are super organised - sit in front of a computer and table everything in excel beforehand. You should know exactly what wire goes where before even being near the car. This way also you should have all parts ready. You do not want to have to stop and start over a few days waiting for parts. Make sure you have some decent crimping tools. I've tried to make do in the past and it's just not worth it.
      Good luck with it!

      Hi mate!
      Sizes are 18x9 and 18x9.5
      I cant remember the offsets unfortunately but between +20 and +30 front and rear
      I can check next time the wheels are off. Maybe i'll do a walkaround/rundown video of the car sometime.
