I was going to get a gretsch 5420t but found the same swingster he's playing used at a great price so I got it, I do not regret that decision, I love it.

I traded my grestch 5420t for the swingster and even though the gretsch was made in Korea the Epiphone is way better and way more playable and way better tone !

You should demo the different sounds switching from single coil / humbucker for the different pickups. Lots of different sounds, it's like owning several guitars.

Wrong at 1:16 Will Jones Dr Epiphone...pull isn't humbucker sound but single coil sound just like any regular push/pull. So, push (normal) is full humbucker while pull gets the single coil alike sound.

No that's not right. When the pot is out it's full wired humbucker. Mine is a 2009 model .

To bring it to the right point:
It's wired like classic Filtertrons, wich are wired parallel. That's one of the secrets to the jangly sound.
Parallel wiring reduces the resistance of the pickup, wich leads to more high frequencies but lower output signal. Serial wiring increases the impedance and cuts some of the higher frequencies due the doubled length of pickup wire, but has higher output.
So the Swingsters Push/Pull's switch between parallel and serial wiring.
Nothing at all to do with single coil, wich would be coil splitted mode or coil tapping wich is another thing, often mistakenly mixed up with coil splitting.
If you like to wire it with coil splitting, it is possible due the pickup have 4 wires, but it's a lot of work to do new cabeling on a hollow body. If someone needs help or hints to do it, just let me know.
Btw. There is a Epiphone vid were they exactly show the serial / parallel push pull pots.

@@TheElrondo I’m thinking about getting the emperor over Gretch g5422t which has the filtertrons. Any idea how those two guitars compare to each other? Much appreciated 😊
