Can't remember if I mention this (forgive me, I'm pretty ill!) I did clear coat the frame after I peeled off the tape and before I showed the finished result. I just didn't film it
You could use the pink paint with a small paintbrush/eyeshadow brush and fill in dinosaurs. You could use a small plastic cup and spray in some pink paint and brush it on
Juliet, You are definitely fun to watch! I made my own decals by purchasing decal paper online then designing the decals on my computer and printing them out. After printing I clear coated them with the same paint as I would use on the bike. Then it was just a matter of transferring them to the bike, clear coating the whole thing and done! That is easier than stenciling I would think. You have a great sense of humor and are pretty quick to boot! Way to go.
I came on here as i am thinking of re spraying a bike and after watching your video, I am inspired to do it ASAP ...you did a fantastic job!! Thanks for uploading this video and the link for the spray paint too! Have a great day!
Nice work. The frame turned out really nice. I do like the dinos. They are unique. This frame will stand out in a crowd. Better than having the same thing as everyone else.
Juliet, check out the Satin Oil paint job of the top-tier Specialized Diverge 2018 model. Or Trek's Project One paint jobs, such as the Gloss Purple, the Purple Flip, the Candy Emerald, or the Refliptive. Or the Genesis Datum Women's 2017 Purple. Or the purple of the Scott Foil (Model : 274713), the glossy gradient purple of the Garneau A1 2017. Or the Norco Search XR Ultegra 2018 model, but with its beautiful pastel blue transitioning to a somewhat more vivid, matching colour in the rear; idem with the Rival version, but with either a lighter or a darker green in the rear end. Sublime! All worthy successors to Klein's paint job excellence. I must say, you did a remarkably good job of spray painting the bike without professional knowhow and equipment. What strikes Me more - is the choice of your colours. I like your taste! Oh, and a compliment on your delightful eyes. I hope, your husband is endowed with matching good genes: it's very painful seeing truly beautiful women (more like, bimbos), such as Doutzen Kroes - defile their flesh and ruin their genes by a thoroughly and insufferably poor choice of bedmates: www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3798072/Doutzen-Kroes-step-style-Clinton-Global-Citizen-Awards.html (excuse the nauseating nature of the snapshot).
Juliet that was fun to watch. I loved your plan JUST GO FOR IT . At least I’ll have a full size garage to work in And I need to make a broomstick stand . Hope you are well again cheers ivor
thought of something to add a few days ago but have been out of touch in the woods since. the 2nd bike I painted was a fade that started with your two exact starting colors. my third color was a yellow/orange at the extremities. i'm not a fan of the cream base layer, and have a suggestion if that color still bothers you. have your daughter practice coloring in dinos until you both feel comfortable enough for her to do it, and without worrying too much about staying inside the lines, or messiness, etc. in fact, the more expressive the better. the bike would have more meaning for the both of you, and when she gets old enough to ride, she can have Mom's bike!
FWIW - I spray painted a good frame thinking that it would be non-descript and I could lock it anywhere with no worries. Got loads of compliments from strangers & loved the bike to death (the frame's; not mine). Wait till it's built up and you've had it out in the world. You may love it. And awesome job painting and sharing!
Perfect timing! Been looking at this paint and can see it's decent stuff and covers really well. Like you I haven't done a bike before but seeing you do it gives me the confidence to go ahead and give it a try. I'm not doing bright colors though, probably matt and gloss black :)
for a first time paint job it looks nice and you should be proud of your work. i would suggest that once you put the tan undercoat on, if you would have taped the fork to the frame and painted the whole bike together, i think the it would have looked better because without any of the painted stencil on the frame, it gives the appearance of two different paint jobs even though you used the same colors. im glad i watched your vids cause ive been wanting to do a custom paint jobs on one of my bikes and seeing you do it makes me want to do it more. thanks for inspiring me.
cutest video ever! I loved all about it! you painting dinosaurs for your daughter, your hubby helping out and being supportive, your honesty! I loved how the cream colour looked like. I think I'm going to paint mine just that colour. Maybe you didn't like the dinosaurs because of the contrast but perhaps if you aim from far away you might smooth the edges. Anyways this was like two years ago so. Subscribed!
Also have to add that I love your content over any others cuz you're so personal/personable. Dirty counters???? And not asahmed.... Brave and lovely... Thx for being real!
Nice work for your first time out. And I loved the dinosaur idea. I think it could work. May I suggest a couple of pro tips? 1) Hang your frame from the ceiling of your shed using thin wires. Screw several small hooks into the roof beams of your shed to provide a variety of attachment points. 2) Spray the inside corners of the frame first before moving on to spray the more accessible outside surfaces of the frame.
Nice job Juliet. Im trying to learn painting also. Great colors on your frame. I really like your joyful enthusiasm while you work. Very fun to watch .Cheers :)
Looks funky and the line is a nice contrast from the fade - I have to say I smiled a bit when you got the cling film out to protect the pink as I'd mentioned that it's a handy thing to use for jobs like that when we were chatting through Instagram so nice to see it worked nicely for you 👍🏻 looks awesome and you could always draw the outlines of the dinosaurs on in liquid eyeliner or nail pens afterwards and then use a very basic and cheap nail varnish remover/makeup remover to take the lines off if you made a mistake or if not then just clear coat over the top to set them in 100%. Looks good :P
Love the frame! I love the sudden line between the green and pink with the fade between the purple and green. I find that going from cool to warm/highlight colors is best done via a smash cut. The forks I'm kinda eh about. Your right in that a pink base would work. I'd ask your daughter if she likes it. Since she's the inspiration. Hope y'all have been well!
Wow! Love that track frame. Wish i can afford that too, its too much expensive here in my country 😂. I have a steel fixie/track bike, im gonna repaint it and your video is so usefull to me.
Owwww my g.i will make my own but your steps are my insight and i will choose my own color hehe thankyou for sharing this kind of video -from philipines
It's really cool and I think you should keep the dinosaurs. I find the mix of fade and hard colour transition a little jarring, but what do I know! The colours are great.
Know that feel. I’ve got 4 bikes in the hallway in various states of completion, plus others stashed in secret spots the wife doesn’t know about. Love the dinosaurs, they’re super cool!
Well done Juliet You done a great job👍 hope we see you ride it. Thanks for the link for the spray paint. I’ve got a frame that I need to spray I will have a go. All The Best Juliet keep up the great work xx
OMG 😍 love your content, as usual. The fade is sick, the dinos are the best - I might have gone with pink dinos too, since it's my fav. As others have said, the dinos will always be a sweet memory with your daughter. Can't wait to see it with matching wheels and bar tape.... Oohlala....
You could air brush the dinosaurs and eggs when they’re white like that, you’d then take pink in your airbrush and add shading and whatnot to blend them into the background so they don’t look so stark and bold against it
I just heard about this paint. I have an origin 8 steel frame that is boring grey. I think I'm going to strip it down and do a celeste with pink unicorns because my daughter loves them... mostly because I do 🦄. Nice dinos.
Hehe.. niceley done, these projects can bi realy funn and sometimes furstrating, but mostly funn. I also striped paint off my cx bike. I made raw aluminium look with clear coat so i had to use a paint remover, and the clearcoat was applied in the paintshop at galvanization factory, so its a durable coating that sticks realy good on difficult surface such as brushed aluminium.
I think that in about 30 years you and your daughter will be rummaging thru the shed and will come across this frame. You'll look at each other and laugh and cry, and anything you've ever done in your life will be worth that moment.
That's an excellent 10-foot paintjob (but ok, a not-so-great 3-foot paintjob.) You'll be zooming past fast enough nobody will pick out the imperfections. Pretty cool DIY project and honestly a good advert for what a typical user can expect - good solid colors that come out "good enough" for a garage project and are nicely priced for a home mechanic.
Love the paint job reminds me of the Klein Mountain bike frames I think back in the 80's or 90's one of my favorite bike but they went the way dodo bird the prehistoric dinosaur on your fork...... cant wait to see it built back up and ready to roll
Hello, I tryed to paint my bike frame as well but the paint sucked und got cracks and stuff. I want to undo the process with sandpaper and then I would like to paint it again. What paint did you use and does it holds good? Your color mixture looks great. 👍👍 I would love to hear from you. Joris
that looks sick. If you could change one thing about the process what would it be? From watching if you had a basic vice you could have held the frame, so that you could go around it 360 degrees, that would have made it a tonne easier. (I don't have a vice either)
I’d get the frame stripped by someone else, all that sanding was a pain. If at all possible id have more space and a stand or something to hang it on. I’d also take more care with the design, I wasn’t that fussed with it once I’d done it. I enjoyed the process more than the result
Finally I found this video, I've been looking for it for a while. I've ordered some paint from them, and as soon as it gets a bit warmer, I'm going to paint the frame on my old GT XCR 4000 MTB, as it is now, it's red/white/black, but it's going to be completely black with a satin clear coat. Anyways, as always I'm enjoying your videos. A quick question, do you have a Patreon account I can support?
a pink base coat for the forks would give you pink dinos. I think that would look amazing with the rest of the frame. Wondering if cling film the forks and cut out the dinos and spray would work? Or, need to do a proper pink base and then redo the fade? Even if you leave it, great job on your first attempt. :-)
Well you did good actually. The dinosaurs are simple and so is the fade and it all kind of works. I really like that shade of purple, at least how it looks on my monitor. Was the white base coat a primer or just regular paint? Because if it's a primer then it should help the other coats stick. Your obviously artistic because even with doing everything unprofessionally it came out looking good. Now for the finishing clear coat, clear gloss pearl or mat finish?
Can't remember if I mention this (forgive me, I'm pretty ill!) I did clear coat the frame after I peeled off the tape and before I showed the finished result. I just didn't film it
I actually thought about why you were whispering.
Question.....How many cans did you use???
You could use the pink paint with a small paintbrush/eyeshadow brush and fill in dinosaurs. You could use a small plastic cup and spray in some pink paint and brush it on
Proper mask instead!!!
OH MY GOD. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AROUND RUclips FOR SOOOO LONG FOR THIS TYPE OF TUTORIAL. THANK YOU KIND MADAM.
That turned out nice,Julie! Glad you went with the fade. I'd keep the dinos as an homage to your daughter.
Love the dinos, frame looks great.
Juliet,

Fantastic effort, great result and I love the joy you put into these videos.
Thanks Alexandra
I think you did an awesome job for a first attempt at spraying a bike. I love the purple and green together and the fade idea looks really cool.
Best “ASMR” video ever !
The Jurassic fork is my favorite part of the paintjob
That is what I call quality time
I am not being sarcastic!

Ah brilliant. It’s great and I like how you mixed things up as you went along. Chapeau to you both!
Very good tutorial, thanks for sharing. It really help me out with my project.

Excellent! I adore the dinosaurs. The 3 color fades really came out nice too. Great video.
Perfect timing! Been looking at this paint and can see it's decent stuff and covers really well. Like you I haven't done a bike before but seeing you do it gives me the confidence to go ahead and give it a try. I'm not doing bright colors though, probably matt and gloss black :)
Looks good for your first time painting a frame.
It's a good job, bikes are whatever you want them to be, bet your daughter loves it and that's priceless 👍
Yaaaas. Looks amazing. Jurassic Fork is cute AF. I bet your daughter loves it. 🦕🦖 brilliant first effort. You should be really proud of that.

If you stick the stickers to your shirt or like a towel first it will allow them to release much easier without pulling the base layer of paint off
nice to see. just bought the paint and was wandering how it worked. thank you!
No problem 👍
Loved it Sooo much... I am a bike mechanic and a framebuilder... Planning to execute your theam on my next project....
Also have to add that I love your content over any others cuz you're so personal/personable. Dirty counters???? And not asahmed.... Brave and lovely... Thx for being real!

Juliet, Dave! I'm loving this, when i get back from my tenerife week riding I'm totally respraying my bike!
Wow! Love that track frame. Wish i can afford that too, its too much expensive here in my country 😂. I have a steel fixie/track bike, im gonna repaint it and your video is so usefull to me.
Cute frame. Now I will have some motivation to do my bike's frame as well.

Amazing. i want to do a black finish on mine and this process would be so cost effective. great touch with the dinosaurs.
Frame looks good - agree the dinosaurs would look better in pink or a different accent colour. Nice job!👍🏼🔥🔥🔥🚴🏻♀️
Well done Juliet You done a great job👍 hope we see you ride it. Thanks for the link for the spray paint. I’ve got a frame that I need to spray I will have a go. All The Best Juliet keep up the great work xx
I think the fade is great. Considering this is the first time you've tried painting a frame, it's awesome.
I'd liked the dinos in red, one the white forks. Looks like a polka-dot jersey! Extremly cool!
The frame looks awesome!
OMG 😍 love your content, as usual. The fade is sick, the dinos are the best - I might have gone with pink dinos too, since it's my fav. As others have said, the dinos will always be a sweet memory with your daughter. Can't wait to see it with matching wheels and bar tape.... Oohlala....
Go with some white bar tape and a white saddle to pick out the dinos, it'll look smashing.
I really like the dinosaurs! Though you're right they would probably look cooler with a brighter colour base coat coming through
Looks great Juliet, Keep the Dinos, put on clear coat 😀😀
Thank you. Already clear coated
You could air brush the dinosaurs and eggs when they’re white like that, you’d then take pink in your airbrush and add shading and whatnot to blend them into the background so they don’t look so stark and bold against it

aaawwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhh . . . what a lovely comment- made my day reading that.
Nice retro design and colours. bit 90's like :)
I think the dino's are a nice personal touch.
For a gloss finish you really need a coat of clear.
Hope you feel better. The frame looks way better then the pic you posted on instagram. I actually love it! Good morning!
You can color in the dinasors. Then clear coat it.
Nice bikeosaur 🦖!
i like the taped hard contrast at the bottom more than the fade :)
I would totally take that bike for a rip. Good job, subscribed immediately lol. Cheers 🍻
Awesome! pop on some clear coat and maybe a little bit of the hot pink on the bottom of the fork? (like a small pinstripe up from the axel?)
The results look brilliant if you as me. I may order some of that paint to restore an old bike I've been restoring. :)
Who's are the Shreddies? Shreddies are the best cereal out there!
Looks good! Deffo keep the dinosaurs. Your daughter will love you for it 👍
Love the paint job reminds me of the Klein Mountain bike frames I think back in the 80's or 90's one of my favorite bike but they went the way dodo bird the prehistoric dinosaur on your fork...... cant wait to see it built back up and ready to roll
I love this - im gona spray my sons bike x
Fantastic job I'd love that frame
I think the dino's are DOPE! But I agree with you in that if they were pink they'd look better.
Lovely paint job!
Video title marketing suggestion: "ASMR Bronchitis whispered paint fade"
Great color choices. I like the dinos on the fork as well.
Hello,
I tryed to paint my bike frame as well but the paint sucked und got cracks and stuff. I want to undo the process with sandpaper and then I would like to paint it again. What paint did you use and does it holds good? Your color mixture looks great. 👍👍

Joris
Thank you for trying out my idea. 😄😄
Good job. The dinosaurs are kinda fun. I think they suit you.
It looks amazing and I love the dinosaurs!!!
This is awesome! Got a track frame that is asking for a respray!
I think it looks great! Digging the dinos.
Looks fine, good job.
Hi Juliet, i was just wondering what the longevity of the paint has been like since you lacquered the frame? Does it last well.
That is a KILLER paint job- what's the purple paint?
Look great! Love the colors.
that looks sick. If you could change one thing about the process what would it be? From watching if you had a basic vice you could have held the frame, so that you could go around it 360 degrees, that would have made it a tonne easier. (I don't have a vice either)

Wow, you did a great job that's a beautiful paint.
GREAT JOB GURL!
The dinosaurs are great! Did you use primer and finish? If you used finish, which kind? The finished bike looks very tidy, great paint!

A quick question, do you have a Patreon account I can support?
let us know how you get on with it
Looks great! Where did you get your dinosaur stickers from?
Crackin' first attempt!
I think you did a really good job with it. For a first time effort. Well done
Cool , what paints did you use. And dinosaurs are awesome
Awesome paint job haha.
I agree the dino's would look better if they were pink. You should put you channel icon on your down tube, really make it yours
stellar. well done
If you wanted to fill in the dinosaur s, you could use some fingernail polish? also film the build up of the bike and also riding it around.
Velociraptors😀 velo but apt for bikes. Looks a good choice of colours just some gloss to keep it looking nice.
looks dope . think you should outline the dino's in the pink
Nice job all around!
a pink base coat for the forks would give you pink dinos. I think that would look amazing with the rest of the frame. Wondering if cling film the forks and cut out the dinos and spray would work? Or, need to do a proper pink base and then redo the fade? Even if you leave it, great job on your first attempt. :-)
that came out super hot. what about putting on a glossy clear coat on it?
Well you did good actually. The dinosaurs are simple and so is the fade and it all kind of works. I really like that shade of purple, at least how it looks on my monitor. Was the white base coat a primer or just regular paint? Because if it's a primer then it should help the other coats stick. Your obviously artistic because even with doing everything unprofessionally it came out looking good. Now for the finishing clear coat, clear gloss pearl or mat finish?
my god I love your bike 😍😍😍
Looks so great!
