    Thank you for these instructions! Just followed this process on the Ubuntu 22.10 release and it worked...eventually. Had to be patient during the first boot and continue past some sort of emergency mode twice. Then edit the fstab file after finally booting so it didn't fight with berryboot. But it worked!!

    Hi Lee, I use Berryboot and have a stack of different images in a ISCSI disk within my Synology NAS. It works really well and no need to have a seperate external drive as all images can be booted via my network from the NAS.

    A common presumption is everyone is at the same level of accomplishment and details are insignificant. When one presumes to be an information provider the details are in the presentation.
    Do I sudo or not, is a start.
    I understand the task at hand, when it didn't work for you to start, is no more advanced at this time, for others less accomplished.

    Hi Lee, Sorry to go a bit off subject but you may wish to investigate the massive different in the speed that the USB To SATA adaptors can have especially in random read speeds, here some results changing nothing but the adaptor

      Yes that the one, I'm not saying it's the best but better then the eBay one and just a pound more, the only thing I'll say is the 12v input uses a very small jack not very standard, not that is a standard for barrel jacks

      Your CSL USB 3.0 to SATA uses an older ASM1053 chipset, if you live in UK, you should try it with UGREEN SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter(£11.99 w/ Newest ASM1153E), you may be able to squeeze some extra KB/sec, specially for random reading and sequential writing speeds.

      When I try to convert official FydeOS_for_you_Pi400_v11.4_SP2.img to bb image, it fails. although no error, 4 KB converted image gets created. When I looked at the fdisk -l output, I noticed 12 partitions for FydeOS. Similarly there are 4 partitions for lineage. Further www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot/adding_custom_distributions does not advise anything, for this exceptional scenario. If either of you have been successful, please share a video with steps (howTo)

However Ubuntu 18 just loaded to a purple screen, rp os and twister os would not update, raspi config does not work, if you set an overclock and restart the system it does not store it just resorts to stock again. So whilst it was nice to have it, I went back to rp os and retropie with noobs and they work fine.

    • @akagordon
      @akagordon 3 года назад

      @@RelihSchneider I don't remember the exact procedure at this point. However, I remember that Berry Boot uses a type of compression known as "squash", though with the .img format. It results in a much smaller file size. The Berry Boot version of Twister OS is only around 3.5 GB. Search for "berryboot alexgoldcheidt Twister OS v1.9.3 for Raspberry Pi 4" and it should be the first result via Google. From there click "Download OS Image" next to the appropriate OS and it will redirect to the respective Source Forge page.

    Is there a way to create a Berryboot compatible image file from a microSD card?

    • @leepspvideo
      @leepspvideo  3 года назад

      You can backup an sd card with this video
      Raspberry Pi OS. Backup, Shrink and Restore to SD, USB or SSD. Raspberry Pi 400, Pi 4.

      Not all operating systems are compatible with Berryboot or Pinn OS.
