LOL!!! exactly what you said i did. Bought mine about 30-35 years ago have the same exact setting on it... its just what you said Magical!! I run it through the FX Loop, cleans are heavenly, but love it when i run it together with a MXR Micro Flanger (at very low settings, at about 7 o'clock) on Heavy Gain, love love it......
Cool settings Louis- I like the both knobs at 3 O:Clock setting. I’m going to hook that one up. I have two black label metal screw jobbers. Great demo video 👍🏻
Man, I used to have a green label CE-2. Was the best Chorus I've owned/played! Loved it, I mean LOVED IT! Nowadays, I've been debating trying to waza version, or plunging down for an old one...maybe even thoughts of trying the waza Dimension C. Never owned or tried that one though.
I am a Chorus junkie. I recently purchased the Boss DC-2W and it's phenomenal. No Seasick pitch warble. It just Sounds expensive. (think Steve Stevens on Flesh for Fantasy) If you want more of the Alex Lifeson Sound - I also own the Free The Tone Tri-Avatar Multi-Chorus, which is the Best Chorus I have ever heard (bar none). Good Luck. oNe LovE from NYC
16 year old me would have never thought i'd ever become a chorus person. here i am, thinking about the tonal differences between a silver screw and a modern CE-2.
Great sound from the CE-2! Will buy one for sure! 😃 i am also thinking about a Boss Cs-2 compressor to get that spanky 80's sound and Whitesnake "Is This Love" tone 👌 but that xotic compressor doesn't sound that bad either 👍
I personally prefer the DC2 but my all time fav is the high headroom 18v mxr vintage 3 knob chorus that sounds like a rack unit since it outputs phase reversed chorus on both ends?! Also made in 1979 to compete against the ce1 so it might be older than the ce2 but ce2 was the first compact one ye. Also you can distort the ce2 dc2 with hb but the mxr can handle them so its cleaner and less ss clipping.
I'm so glad I got this pedal today, it's my first pedal :D Unfortunately the seller couldn't show it as there was no original adapter. Do you know how to fix the problem? Or should I look for the original aca-220 adapter? (google translate)
I have an early 80s CE-2 just like the one you are using. It has too much of a low-mid emphasis and tends to sound muddy. My Arion SCH absolutely destroys it. But I use Fender-voiced amps and that could be the difference.
slick playing
Best CE2 demo out there, thank you!
Thanks William!
A really great channel you're building here. I appreciate the attention to detail and the production value, and the playing is top-notch.
One of my first pedals I ever bought. Bought mine new in 1981 and still have it today. I think it even got better with age.
Great sound quality pal. Well done.
Thanks man!
@@LouisMalagodi the Boo pedal sounds great, just a little brighter on the top end than the CE2 - are you hearing this in the room?
@@baroidrig1435 Yes I agree, ever so slightly brighter. I noticed as soon as I got the Boss that it had just a slightly rounder sound.
OMG, he has the box!!!
Great breakdown of settings, samples, and tip on the eq!
Great video ! Very informative ! Great playing !
Thanks Eric!
I like the sound of the Boo - and the fact it has the true bypass. Nice video man, Keep them coming.
Thank you!, yes, it's a great pedal! Boo's Klon clone is also excellent!
@@LouisMalagodi Yeah I hadn't actually come across them until I saw this, I like the look of them already.
@@mikebinding23 Excellent components and build quality, Made in England!
JHS pedal guy said 'true bypass' is bunk'. (Argue with him not me)
@@pdkett1 Haha, I guess it depends on the situation, I don't mind buffers as long as theirs not too many of them in the chain
This strat sounds so HUGE! Great playing, loved your phrasing. Amazing production, too. Subbed🤘
I bought one new about 35 years ago, always had it set exactly like yours at 3:20, that's a magic sound
Classic tones man, I love it!

Me too....
Love the t-shirt, now I have March of the SOD in my head :D
Nice lead tone u had going w the strat on the intro,
Thanks man, the CE-2 adds a nice bit of presence.

Thank you bro! means a lot man!

Get an original for sure, unless you want the more transparent sound of the Waza. Dimension C looks great, I've also never tried one

I'm using Ibanez BCL Bi-mode chorus, also from 80's, also made in Japan..and it's awesome
They look awesome, yet to try one out!

First I had read Malagoli, haha... there's a company here in Brazil which's Malagoli. They make guitar pickups.
Is that an American Original 60s strat btw?
Hey Josh, yeah man, I think so!
Thanks for posting. Thought the BOSS sounded slightly better than the BOO. Wouldn't be able to tell the diff much on a club gig though.
Thanks Peter!

Had one since original.
If it ever leaves the board it invariably get's itself back on.
Original is warmer, smoother, and less harsh in the high frequencies.
Danelectro cool cat chorus 18v vs ce 2
had a 1990 MIT for a while, nothing too special imo. My much cheaper MXR sounded more or less the same, but I really prefer the Walrus Julia to both.
The CE-2 is ok. The Tortuga Martini is better in my opinion.
Agree. Amazing Pedal. I also love the Jam Waterfall, Analogman Bi-Chorus and my FTT Tri Avatar Multi Chorus ( my all time favorite ).
