I had three of these trucks in my life. Same style that is. One was a fluid drive. It was like a straight drive but had a torque converter that allowed you to stop at a stoplight without applying the clutch. I think the engine had a whopping 70hp. Geared so low that 55 was about top speed. However, I trailered a 4000 Ford tractor with a bushhog with one. I probably a traveled couple of hundred miles altogether with it. They weren't pretty trucks but, they were some tough old girls.
my dream is to own one. i am contented just to see these trucks on youtube i am trying to find one here in the Phils and i dont know if i could find one. If i am able to find one maybe the price was too high if they decided to sell. I still have hope because many of the 1960 s american trucks are still running and a few 1950s trucks you can only saw these trucks on the southern part of luzon. You have three youre so lucky sir.
Not so much luck Sheena. I bought these trucks back in the 70's. Back then, these trucks were fairly easy to find. I could still find parts in local Junkyards for them. Fords, Chevrolets of this vintage were all over the place and inexpensive. I'm here looking at these and reminiscing. I wish I hadn't sold all of them over the years. Good luck to you and I hope you find one some day soon.
Was she restored, or did someone get it and have the sense to just clean her up, make her road worthy and hit her with some clear coat to save that awesome patina?
