    I like this type of video. It is interesting to see your estimate of retail value for the components. I also appreciate your residential property videos- they are very relatable for homeowners.

    Looks like you can use a little advice from someone who does concrete flooring. First of all I’m not trying to be rude I just came across the channel and I like the content. I have been considering doing the RUclips thing for my company for some time. Looks like you are pretty squared away. The cut off wheel for screws is a great hack. If you really want to get more efficient at the flooring removal I’m happy to share my 20+ years of experience. I’m not a sales rep I’m an installer so I’m not giving advice based on a profit. You mentioned you know of the larger walk behind grinder’s but you feel they aren’t worth it. Although they are expensive they are worth their weight in gold. An 800+ pound 3 phase 208 grinder will do what it takes a guy a day or more with a 7” in a few hours. Especially on thinset and carpet glue. Also a good vacuum is a game changer not just for production but for the health of your guy’s. Silica dust is no joke and OSHA is going after contractors heavily for violations. Even if you stay with the hand grinder at least get yourself a Joe Due dust shroud and a SASE bull vacuum. You won’t be disappointed even with the sticker shock on the price of the vacuum. I know a guy in your area who has connections to new and used equipment if you want his contact. Same thing with ride on scraper’s. You can remove thousands of square feet in a couple hours even tile that’s putting up a fight.
    Either way pretty cool channel and I would be happy to give you my contact information and highly experienced advice on flooring removal in exchange for some advice on the RUclips thing.

    It's nice to see things getting re-purposed. I see so many videos, mainly the urban explorers going into mansions, homes, hospitals, factories, you name where everything is just left to rot. It's sad because it sits and rots yet if you took anything they would say you are stealing, pretty FU.

    I hear you on the arches over doors and windows. The whole Mediterranean/Tuscan look is SO over. My home built in 1999 is a desert modern on the outside. Had to keep that as it matches the neighborhood. The inside however looked like a "Cheesecake Factory" gone wild. We did pretty much what you did in this video and took the house down to the studs and replaced all systems, windows, doors - essentially a brand new house. The lot and the neighborhood warranted that investment. At the time, 2016, they would not allow complete teardown just to remodel but have since revised that HOA police in our golf course community here in Las Vegas. I made a bit of money as the homeowner utilizing a company to come in and do an auction inside. They took everything which was nice. Glad to see it recycled as much as possible. When the HVAC systems were being removed, I insisted that they capture the refrigerant, I believe Puron or whatever is common now. A lot of people will just let it gas off into the atmosphere. Now the house matches the exterior - modern, restrained desert modern and no more Cheesecake Factory. During the process I went in myself to use a shop vac to clean up every bit of dust dirt and debris that I could find myself.

      Wow, I was in the Air Force in Las Vegas, lots of similar style houses here. The renovations are going on everywhere here how about there? How is your RE market?

    • @kennixox262
      @kennixox262 5 месяцев назад

      @@removeitprosdemolition Deepening on how long ago you were at Nellis, things have changed a lot. The RE market is booming and I lived through the worst of the crash in 2008. I live on the west side in Summerlin in a golf course community built in the late 1990's. A lot of the homes are "dated" in that "Spanish" style and while the outside can't change too much the inside, more and more are gutting and renovating and one or two now are full tear downs. While never stationed Nellis myself, moved here after I retired. If you have not been in a while, Nellis has been pretty much rebuilt and remodeled itself. Still, your typical military base. Not exciting. One note about Las Vegas, most homes have the same round door bell button in all price ranges.

    When you cut the screws aren’t the little ends still in the wood?

    • @removeitprosdemolition
      @removeitprosdemolition  6 месяцев назад

      Yes. The tips of the screws are still in the wood. We cut the screws so the drywall guys can come in and lay the drywall on the wood flat. That's all. Then they just use more screws to secure it.

    Dave, all then content in your videos is interesting. When you do salvage of materials/equipment to resale, do you also salvage building materials (can lighting, air duct pieces, switches, doors, etc) for personal re-use…resources for when you do a project like your recent Air B&B dwelling?

    the floor sander could be done with a larger unit in the center of room, then use the hand sander for tighter areas. seems like that guys back is being over-worked because of the method you are using.

    Is there not a different sanding tool that has a long handle like a floor power washer machine in order to do those floors?
    Y'all do a great job...

    Sir I am a cabinet maker / finish carpenter/ contractor! I say that to point out the dovetail joinery u missed. Slides and hardware simply replacement! Face frames are solid wood and all cabinets are plywood. Why ? Movement of wood does not allow solid wood cabinets! I would use a cabinet maker to consult with to properly price high end cabinets ! That looks to be a wood stained cherry because over the years solid cherry face frames or drawer fronts darken!
    I am sure just using good pics a wood guy could help you earn that extra grand on a set of cabinets ? A new set of custom cabinet 30 G ‘s easy ! I know it’s often more !
