      No you can not connect it with an OTG cable. The only way to connect a Fire Stick to the Cloner Alliance will be to connect the Fire Stick to the HDMI IN input of the Cloner Alliance box and output to the TV. Now if you have more than one device that you want to use with the Cloner Alliance box, I would recommend getting a 4K HDMI switch.

    Hey, how's it going? I would like to know if I can write directly to it. Is the flash drive writable, or just read-only?
    Does it only allow formatting in FAT32? So, can't you put files larger than 4Gb? Thank you very much!

    • @DJsTutorials
      @DJsTutorials  2 года назад

      If you are asking if an app can write to the drive directly then it will all depend on how you set the drive as. If you use it as "External Storage" then the 4K Max can only read from it. If you set it as "Internal Storage" then you can write on it. The drive does need to be formatted as FAT32 otherwise the 4K Max will format it as FAT32 if you choose to set it as Internal storage.

    If I want to put apps on usb drive should it be formatted as internal or external

    • @DJsTutorials
      @DJsTutorials  2 года назад

      In order to move apps to the USB drive that you will USE on your Fire Stick it needs to be formatted as internal shared storage. If you want to copy apps to move to another device (copy the apk file) then it needs to be set as external storage.

  • @n1kkri
    @n1kkri 2 года назад

    Does this external storage when configured as INTERNAL work the same way as the older FireTV 2nd Gen (metal box) that has a SDcard slot for added storage? I have the 2nd Gen and noticed the SDcard slot only made a slight difference on how much of the original internal storage transfered to the SDcard. I am hoping the FireTV Max when the external storage is configured as INTERNAL storage is much more effective freeing up space on the internal storage. Would a USB SDcard be faster than a USB 3.0 flash drive.

    • @DJsTutorials
      @DJsTutorials  2 года назад

      In a way, yes it does work the same. You can install some apps (not all apps can be installed on the USB drive) to the USB drive but not all files are installed on there. Application files are installed on the internal storage and data on the external shared storage. A USB 3.0 will be better than the SD card.

      Hi Chrisa. Which Fire Stick are you using? If you connect the thumb drive to your laptop and "Right" click on it and select "Properties" what does it say next to the "File System", FAT, FAT32, exFAT, or NTFS? Most SanDisk thumb drives come as FAT32 File System so you shouldn't need to format them. Do you have the X-plore File Manager app by any chance? If yes, launch the app and see if the SanDisk drive shows in there. Let me know please.

It did not prompt me whether to format as external or device storage. installed a couple of apps - Downloader, Netflix and NordVPN and checked my usb drive and nothing in there. For the Fire Stick Lite, you will only get the option to format it as Internal Storage. If you are just planning on using the USB drive to access movies that are already on there, there is nothing else you need to do. If you have X-plore File Manager installed, you can go in the app and see your USB drive and content.

If you remove the USB drive and connect it again, does it see it then? The apps need to be reinstalled because the drive was formatted again when you reconnected it to the Fire Stick, did some move to Internal storage? Give me a little more info please.

      @@DJsTutorials Thanks so much for your help. I’m using a 256 USB 3.1 thumb drive. After successfully migrating quite a few apps, at some point, in settings, it indicates no external storage, like it doesn’t exist.
      In ‘manage applications’ the migrated apps have a check mark but also an indication they can’t be launched.
      When trying to launch the missing app it ask if you want to install. I have successfully employed a remedy that I heard of along the way in my research by turn the Firestick off, disconnecting the power, waiting a few minutes before reconnecting. Now the external USB storage reappears intact and I can once again migrate apps from internal storage.
      I did notice that I when put Netflix on the external storage and got a message that appeared for a brief moment indicating something to the effect it wouldn’t be happy running off the external device.
      I was able to launch Netflix as well as all the other apps I migrated without any perceivable issues.
      Now that the Firestick acknowledges the USB external storage, everything thing is back in order.
      I guess, as it applies to me, “a little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing”😂
      Thanks again for taking the time to help.

    • @DJsTutorials
      @DJsTutorials  10 месяцев назад

      You need to keep in mind that even though you added 64GB as Internal shared storage, not all of it is available as internal storage. When you move/install an app to the USB drive, not all of the files are moved there. The Application files will be moved to the USB drive but the Data and the Cache files will remain on the internal drive. The more apps you install, the less free storage you will have left for internal storage. I will check how much free storage you have left for internal storage. Not the USB drive. Most likely you are below a Gig like 600 - 800 MB.
