That is amazing I had 77 apk files removed them went from 89% full to 69% now giving me 1.98GB of space and that before clearing cache which I do frequently. Now after clearing cache I have 2.27GB. Thank you thank you thank you. I always wondered what was up with the storage shortage. AMAZING!!!!
The problem for me is even if I delete every app I have less than 500mb of storage. The issue is Amazon has pushed so many apps you can't delete it's hogging all the storage. The amount of space the firestick or tv gives you is a joke
So the first time you set up the initial stick, you can elect to not have all that on there. I had over 4gb available after install. Just a tip. Also it's only about $10 to add a 32gb memory stick to it. Super easy (we have videos on both processes).
As always your videos are fantastic, I have multiple file managers and I also have a terabyte drive that I use for tivimate to save videos on, if you could make an end up the video on how to save your apks and apps to the file manager to move them over to the terabyte hard drive it will be wonderful I need a new firestick and I don't want to have to reload everything I'd like to see if either a I can run them off the terabyte orbi save them to the terabyte and then move them back over to the new Fire stick that would be such a blessing so I don't have to redo every single thing looking forward to your answer thanks so much

Hello You have a great channel. My problem is with the fire cube I go into application to clear my cash out and then it comes right back again. When I hit clear cache it goes to zero but when I hit the return button for the next app the previous cash comes back.

16kb? That’s like a grain of sand in the desert. Too small amount to worry. Some apps require a small amount to launch. We talk about that in our videos. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Worry about MB

The only fire device that has the automatic ability is the firestick 4k max. Max meaning you can maximize it. The tv editions or older models you have to use a file manager and it’s more of a place to store recordings than anything else.

I have had Best Buys Geek Squad come out 4 times trying to get this to work. I've been given several reasons for this not working. Needs more power, thumb drive to large, needs to be a USB 3 thumb drive, need 4k firestick. I have bought 3 OTGs, thumbdrives 1g 2.0, 32g 2.0, 32g 3.1, early versions of the firestick, & a 4k firestick. My firestick is in my hdmi port, otg connected to firestick, thumbdrive, and power. This setup exists on all 3 of my smart vizio tvs. TV can't find the drive just the firestick. What's wrong.
Thank you for this video. However, I just installed Firestick on 3/26/23 and can't clear all the cache for Amazon apps that my elderly parents don't use. I follow the process and cleared the cache. But when I back out, it goes back to what it had before. Am I missing a command? Also, all the apk files on my downloaded apps were empty and I never clear them. HMM
Some apps have a very small amount of cache required just to launch the app (and collect your information in the background). You can deactivate those apps in settings. But KB cache doesn't affect your storage like MB does
I recently upgraded a Firestick 4K to a Firestick 4K Max. When I setup the 4k Max, I was able to import the apps from the 4K stick. surprisingly after a week of using the 4K Max, I started receiving the error that I was running low on space. Never received it with the regular 4K.
Yeah, it''s how you initially set it up. We have some videos to help with this. You might have to factory reset it and start over after watching our videos. So many people just allow amazon to put all their stuff on there. Never do that.
I downloaded the ES File Explorer App, and when I run the Def Squid Virus scan, it says that ES file explorer (and Cinema HD V2) apps found 'harmful virus'.......Is this something to worry about? Thanks again for all this info!!
when you say Cinama is a different story are you saying it's harmful? I can do all these steps and still have less than 1g.. I don't get it. I've used total commander, def squid and es explorer and even checked files in down loader and find nothing.
Dora, it's only harmful if you don't have a VPN. It's open source, so who knows what servers you are accessing and what hackers are there. So, to answer your question... without a VPN it's absolutely risky. We use this one: expressvpn.com/curiositycafe

Thanks for trying to help. Your videos are really well done and easy to implement. Unfortunately there were no downloads. Apparently this is a common problem that so many encounter and rarely can remedy. I will try a factory reset, and if that doesn't work I will try to use my Firestick with the TV, and/or a USB drive. Such a shame I've had 6 years with no issue then, suddenly out of nowhere, with nothing new added this happened. Otherwise I really like the TV. Good picture and sound quality.
You need to find out what you downloaded. Are you using a program that you could pause tv, record tv, or download content? Might have done that. After clearing cache, etc did you do the REQUIRED task of restarting your firestick like we mentioned in the video? Just asking

Yes of course. We all know (from our previous videos) that some apps require a small kb amount of cache to be able to launch... Usually 12-16kb. Luckily that doesn't affect your overall storage unless you have over 5,000 of those apps.
I did everything on this video, including removing APK's via es file explorer. It only freed up less than 1gb. I only have 5 apps installed and the firestick is only weeks old. Yet i only have 1gb left on the firestick. My apps only take up 1.2GB so what is taking up all my storage? HELP! Does anyone have any other advice, I'm so confused

You updated low storage won't be cleared unless you restart. Also most storage is taken up by apk installers. We have a full video on the process. You could factory reset it, but you will lose everything. Be sure delete apk installers in the future after installing anything.

All firesticks do. However not all apps can be uninstalled. If they are preinstalled apps, they must remain. You can uninstall any apps YOU actually installed no problem. Hope that clears it up.
After every software update, storage decreases... Even if i keep zero apps ,i will get 700mb free storage...what happened to the rest if space, i understand new update file consumes space but they should be deleted after installation
It's how you have it set up. We actually have videos to show you how to properly set it up. You should have 4GB free. We show it on our video. Are you subbed? Perhaps you missed this video.
It's sad because they don't teach how to properly use the stick. Sooo many people use amazon photos. if you sync the stick to your account and don't turn that setting off, your stick is full in a day or two. Another issue people don't know is that if you don't add an external drive to the stick and use an app that pauses or records tv (many iptvs, tivimate, even netflix and sling) it saves it directly on your local drive, filling it up. We have videos that will show you how to set it up properly. I have over 100 apps on my demo stick and over 4GB available internally still and just under 2TB on external and can record whatever I want. Just have to set it up correctly. We help with that.
Please get back to me. I did everything u said now my remote to firestick won’t do anything!!! Stays on just ONE app. Can’t volume up or down, can’t mute, can’t up and down, can’t turn off from remote.. etc.. what happened. Do I have to buy a new firestick now? Shit!!!!!!!
Unplug your firestick from power AND your tv, wait 60'seconds and plug it back in. You can also use the fire tv app to control the stick to get into settings. Also replace your remote batteries
I have deleted every app I have accept Freevee and I still no room. Cache clears, but immediately comes back. I have no need for the apps that come with the tv. I would never have bought this tv.
You need to open es file explorer and analyze what’s taking the space. Clear it and don’t forget to restart the stick. Changes won’t happen without. Also make sure no silly apps like kodi

Are you talking about the small KB? Or the MB that comes back? All apps require a little bit to operate. It's when it gets in the MB that it matters.

I have4 TV sets and 4 Fire sticks. If i clear the Cache etc on one set does that clear all sets?

I think you missed an important part of this video. The difference between KB and MB in regards to cache. Might want to rewatch.
Funny because on my stick I have cache collecting on apps ive never opened or used that come on the stick. Can that be explained???

Any app that you've allowed access to your system will pull up that way. It's harmless (cinema is a different story)

If the app is able to be uninstalled (not a preloaded app) then you can use this method.

When I clear the cache and hit the back arrow on my remote, the cache reappears.
How much comes back? MB or KB? Look at that. Kb is like a grain of sand and some apps require it just to launch. Learn the difference
I've cleared cache for Apps Airplay, BETplus & Freevee that has 16.38kb and when I hit the back arrow key on the remote the 16.38kb reappears.

We have a few different videos. Probably the way you set it up. I would watch our setup videos and reset the stick and set it up properly.

mine wont let me delete any apps bc the low storage message keeps popping up so it brings me back to the home screen everytime

Followed your instructions to delete the apk and it says i have none on the system
All that means is you never installed 3rd party apps to get free movies, tv, games etc

All firesticks do. However not all apps can be uninstalled. If they are preinstalled apps, they must remain. You can uninstall any apps YOU actually installed no problem. Hope that clears it up.

After every software update, storage decreases... Even if i keep zero apps ,i will get 700mb free storage...what happened to the rest if space, i understand new update file consumes space but they should be deleted after installation

I literally have 3 apps and im critically low on storage. This seems like Amazon's fault...why are we having to deal with this?
It's sad because they don't teach how to properly use the stick. Sooo many people use amazon photos. if you sync the stick to your account and don't turn that setting off, your stick is full in a day or two. Another issue people don't know is that if you don't add an external drive to the stick and use an app that pauses or records tv (many iptvs, tivimate, even netflix and sling) it saves it directly on your local drive, filling it up.
We have videos that will show you how to set it up properly. I have over 100 apps on my demo stick and over 4GB available internally still and just under 2TB on external and can record whatever I want. Just have to set it up correctly. We help with that.
Please get back to me. I did everything u said now my remote to firestick won’t do anything!!! Stays on just ONE app. Can’t volume up or down, can’t mute, can’t up and down, can’t turn off from remote.. etc.. what happened. Do I have to buy a new firestick now? Shit!!!!!!!
Unplug your firestick from power AND your tv, wait 60'seconds and plug it back in. You can also use the fire tv app to control the stick to get into settings. Also replace your remote batteries
I have deleted every app I have accept Freevee and I still no room. Cache clears, but immediately comes back. I have no need for the apps that come with the tv. I would never have bought this tv.
You need to open es file explorer and analyze what’s taking the space. Clear it and don’t forget to restart the stick. Changes won’t happen without. Also make sure no silly apps like kodi
