Agreed. Although, I'd honestly say ditch the music. I found it a little distracting especially since this guy does a pretty good job with phone reviews.
Just watched main channel video, and this guy was saying we need new generation of hosts in lmg, and he is right, most of guys there seems passionate about their job and I'm glad he is making entrance on stuff like this
@rahmanhakim1, but he is right, though. Better give them some feedback while they are new so they can improve instead of being 'kind' and cutting them some slack. It's a multimillion subs channel, so they better get proper feedback. I also found him very monotonous and above all extremely negative. I get it.. the phone sucks.. but please don't repeat it over and over again because that's getting annoying
Agreed. I had to step away for a moment and I suddenly heard music. I thought a video or something had somehow opened up in the background. Came back and realized it was just the background music.
the music that started playing at 10:55 was waaay too loud. it was really hard to focus on whats being said from the host. imagine watching a video in a different language than your own and then having to focus harder because of the music background. its a hard time...
Bit of an odd feeling video, I thought? The sudden change of set early on with no acknowledgment, an overly loud piece of background music starting at around 10:50 running until it ends (and then again around 15:20). Also the whole thing feels a touch... flabby? I know it's ShortCircuit and is meant to have a more loose style, but nonetheless this felt like the footage wasn't (or couldn't be) tightened up in editing. Just a weird collision of production/editing things perhaps (or it's just me).
I agree 100%, the new set is alright, but it was so random when it got switched, as well as the music was a pain to watch through. I appreciate LMG switching things up, but I think it has to be done one at a time, because this was jarring.
It’s all because of speakers being only on one side, they warped space time fabric a little bit more on one side, that transported Jake forward in time a bit, and also misplaced him
whats up with the random music coming in at 11mins, especially during the audio section for the phone, kinda ruins the point of having a "phone audio" section if there is something distracting going on at the same time
I know specs aren't as important as they used to be, but at least mentioning the SOC and amount of RAM and Storage would've been nice, unless I missed it somewhere in the video? Especially for lower budget devices like this, were specs still make more of a difference to performance than the high end phones that basically run anything nowadays without issues.
300g is a lot for a normal non-folding phone, especially since it's frame is made of plastic and the battery is only 5000mA, I remember the galaxy m62 having a 7000mA battery and it weight was around 220g
This is crazy! I thought my rugged phone would be still heavier than this, but no! It "only" weights 270 grams, while made of metal and having 5200mah. This one is not a rugged phone, and it manages to be heavier
The level shot of the new set is extremely jarring when you've just come from the old set where the camera is angled down ever so slightly slightly, gives the whole video a much more sterile and de-personalised feeling. And the random loud music that kicks in half way through, what was that about?
IR BLASTERRRRRR but I think nowdays every phone should have at least one user-programmable button, it's fine if it defaults to some assistant app, like bixby or google assistant, but it should be USER-PROGRAMMABLE to do stuff like launch any app, or activate flashlight, or camera, or other such miscallenaous stuff
I love the IR blaster reference. I had neighbors that would watch TV at all hours of the night blaring so loud you could hear it through the ceiling. There was nothing the building management could do unless it was measured above some dB level. So when they were doing it I'd use my IR blaster to just crank it up and up and up until other people in the building called the police and just like that: problem solved.
Love the updates! The new set looks great! The flatness of the background helps simplify the video. As well I love the new split view when it shows up to see top down and front view at the same time! Good work!
Thank you for including Genshin impact in gaming performance. I often have to advice people what to get and knowing that Genshin can be played or not, gives a rough idea how usable the phone is. Great metric.
Very cool video. I love going in depth on a cheaper phone. RUclipsrs calling iphone se or pixel a series „budget phones” really annoys me. I would love to see cheaper tech get more care and attention by reviewers. I know it’s generating less clicks etc. but when you cannot afford the best and you look for good enough it is sometimes hard to find profesional and serious reviews.
LMG, please keep this guy around, i love his take on phones and the truth there has to be with the "lower end" models like he just did. I wished he did a more thoruogh explanation on the Samsung phones, since i got the S23, not the Plus or Ultra Edition just... the basic one, and the reason for that, is the Hearing Aid Compatibility system and the fact, that 6,5 inches screen is getting too big for me... Anyway, keep him around regardless.
idk who this new guy is but I like him and his voice. would enjoy more of him edit: looked back and saw his face in a handful of videos over the past 2-3 months but hadn't watched any of them. just the first time I've seen this guy
Unihertz is a really interesting company for their jelly 2 and ruggedized phone with a walkie, but having daily driven both for a month each and on and off over the last 2 years, note that they are finicky. For example, I think their gps antenna is fucky or something. When I'm motorcycling this means google maps keeps getting confused about my direction, being way behind on notifying me for turns, etc. Super annoying. Sometimes it doesn't recognize my location for motorcycle navigation either. Also, they have AGGRESSIVE battery throttling on apps that can cause wild shit with wifi connectivity or syncing apps. It's all third party weirdness and takes some googling to figure out how to turn off. On that note, their wifi antennas can suck and I sometimes have trouble connecting to certain wifi networks, especially tethered ones. That said I'm grateful there's at least one company out there experimenting with unique phone designs, especially mini phones like the jelly 2. It's simply the best mini phone, best combo of features against dumphoning.
Adding to a lot of the comments, the music got a bit too loud around 11 minutes. Not sure if that was intentional or an editing oversight, but it is not great.
who ever choosed the volume and the kind of the background music - you nailed it - i was vibing while i still could understand everything nice and clear
The only thing i ''like'' for this phone is that it actually has colored lights instead of just white on the Nothing Phone, but eveything else the Nothing Phone does better.
First time I've seen Jake host, probably not his first time. But you did a great job, very professional. Only thing id like to see in this video is more of a side by side speaker and weight comparison. It was there but it feels like it was edited later as opposed to how laptop speakers are compared in LTT videos Going back to watch the other phone reviews I missed.
All I could think about was: I can root and install a custom firmware on most Poco phones that outperform this by landslides. Why should I use this Nothing Phone-alike? It has not a single edge over other budget phones. Thanks for the review! Also: Childe in 3 FPS was a mood, ngl. All the screen time the poor lad gets per week, really. xD
Yeah true, though I don't have a good experience with poco phones, mine died a week before the warranty was over (luckily). There are so many better phones in this price range then the Luna.

Focusing way too much on the performance of Genshin Impact, it's not intended to be a CPU/GPU powerhouse. It's legitimately supposed to be a gimmick to pop out at a party like the Nothing phone. You aren't looking to buy one for though intensity gaming.
I miss my hotkeys from cybershot&walkman and nokia express music era. Being able to switch tracks without turning the phone on using volume button is something that i still can't figure out (yeah, maybe with root shortcuts that works half of the time it's achievable but would like to have that in stock)
Seems like trying out the IR camera in a room lit by the IR illumination for the security cameras would make the image look way better than if it weren't being helped.
I've got a Pixel 6a (which I got because my 5a bricked itself), and honestly, I have yet to find anything that I prefer about the 6a vs my previous 5a (battery life seems a bit worse, no headphone jack, I can't just touch the fingerprint reader to unlock), and honestly the only reason I'll take either of them over my old OnePlus 3T from like 2014 is the edge-to-edge screen and crappy battery life (even after two battery replacements).
I am just waiting for nothing to do a comparison of the Luna I myself have the nothing phone for about 6 months It still has a few little bugs but mostly "inconvenient" bugs, nothing gamebreaking, the 1.5 update fixed a lot of the issues
