I would definitely test how well the materials diffuse before taking it apart of course. So 6000K is roughly the temperature of our Sun, and the white balance you get from that is mimicked by a lamp with that output. A smaller star would output yellower light and lower surface temperature, say 3000K.

I still don't get how people destroy stuff so often. Even when I did manual labor and driving heavy machinery, the only time I cracked a screen was when it literally got ran over, still worked fine though. Do people not use cases or something? I also don't get the LED's. There's an entire screen for notifications on the other side and I can't remember the last time I was staring at the back of my phone. Most people carry their phone in their pocket/purse, so they'd be pulling it out to look at it anyway, might as well be the screen that actually displays information. My old phone just had an LED that shined different colors right above the screen, so I wouldn't have to flip my phone over to respond to a text like a mongoloid. Just seems like a huge waste of battery when you can just have a dot or text on the screen instead.

      Accidental drops happen.
But yeah, I'd rather just have an LED on the front of the phone than that weird glyph system on the back. A notification LED is the single thing I still miss after moving from Samsung Galaxy to Google Pixel. Although with no bezels anymore, I guess no LED is preferable to them putting another hole in the display. I already hate the camera hole. And anyone who says "you can hide it with software" is full of it, I can still clearly see the camera in the screen.

I'm so lost on this. I looked into it loads over the last two days because I love the design and wanted to swap to it....problem is...I have a s21 ultra and if you compare it all to that (which you can buy new for £350 btw) it's well overpriced and under spec'd.
Yes the CPU is better. But after that it loses out in all regards and that's hard to swallow.
Also before everyone kicks in with updates. Nothing says they'll do 3 major updates, Samsung does 5 meaning they'll get updates equally even if s21 ultra is a 2.5yr old phone.
    Pure disappointment.

I was looking at what's behind the hype for these phones as well. All I could find that holds up is the LEDs on the back. Everything else is no different from any other phone. And like you said, it's overpriced for what you get.

I purchased this phone, coming from a oneplus 7 pro. The reason I purchased this device is not because of the LEDs, but because of how smooth and snappy early oneplus (And now Nothing, thanks Carl) devices are. My oneplus 7 pro is going on 4 years now, mid 2019 if I remember right. I got the 6gb ram model and this thing is more responsive than my friends S20 that came out around the same time. Is this device overpriced, yes lmao. But when I can get more than 4 years of snappy and agile use out of my phone, its far more important to me than things like a camera or processor speed for gaming. Now I just pray that somehow, dbrand makes a case for this phone. I dont care how they do it, but I want it.
Edit: My friends phone is the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, not the base model.

@@BigChumbaWumba I had the 7 pro also. Loved that phone, the pop-up camera failed on me but not mechanically (oddly), camera would pop up but screen would just be black.
I don't doubt the snappiness of the phone, but still find it a shame they could keep the price lower or the specs better. If the base price was IP67/68 and had the 12 gig I think they'd be laughing and be in a far better spot because they d be hitting a lot of people's top spots, which inturn equals more sales and more profit.
I'd also like to see more baked in camera functionality. Does it even have the object remover function for example? That's a good send of a feature once you start using it (and I say that as someone who is quite apt with Photoshop).

@@DisturbedM86 This is purely a silly view on my part, but I have never cared much for IP rating. End solution, don't drop your phone in water :) I bought the 12gb model and I agree, for the 599 base price, it absolutely should be the 12gb+256GB model. I bought it for a few more reasons, I love the apple style design choices, but I hate apple products. I like that they are making things more inclusive like the headphones, which I got a discount when buying as a bundle. Just more personal enjoyment kind of things.

This guy seems to be biased don’t listen , i have seen fanboys like them everywhere for every product , they conveniently ignore what their favourite doesn’t give them like ip rating or good performance, they will just say oh i never cared about that? Really if u want software +camera+ip rating just go for pixel performance isn’t the best on this phone o on pixel

The “Nothing” team are good at hyping up their products, but they are not honest. They advertise that they provide 3 years of OS update, but they launch the phone a month before the release of Android 14, so they count it as 3 years. In fact, there are only 2 years of OS update.

    • @spacewolf363

They are working on their Nothing OS regardless of Android. They release Nothing 2.0 before Android 14 release. But you are correct unfortunately.

I think it would be a cool idea to do a burn test on the leds too, to see how durable they are to heat. A lot of people might put their phone on top of a hot surface that's been in the sun for a while.

    • @unloveableandre
      @unloveableandre Год назад +8

Burn tests are useless... nothing gets that hot. Hot surfaces is one thing, a flame is a complete different scenario where if it happens, the phone is gone.
