What makes me crazy is that he is confident enough to directly insult (not re all an insult though) shadow in team sonic racing. A spin off is more true to him than a main title.

I kinda missed Archie tails, then again, I miss all the Archie versions of the sonic characters. Silver was useful and had a great backstory, shadow wasn’t evil, knuckles was fucking badass, Sonic actually expressed emotions and was allowed to cry. There were times when Archie messed up, but I’d rather take those mess-ups than some soulless sonic.

Once the shonen era aka Adventure games ended, the writing for the characters and overall series gradually fell from grace. It seems Tails just happened to last longer than most of the characters who were written poorly way before Unleashed (Knuckles, Amy).
Tails is to Sonic what Krillin is to Goku: a best friend who knows him best and always has his back. Basically, Tails has been “wimpified” in order to give Sonic more shine. It’s similar to how Super had Krillin regress and lose his fighting edge/bravery until the TOP arc, when he started training with Goku again. Just an example of rehashed progression so that the “sidekick” doesn’t surpass the main hero.
The sidekick doesn't need to surpass the main hero, they can take the place of the main hero if they step down or are absent and that's when they really shine
If it helps "sonic final fantasy" tails(it's a game I used to play as a kid and I think it's getting more installments) Is a beast in a fight I loved playing as him during some battles he really is hero and honestly MVP
Tails had his own adventure against the Kukku Army! I would love to see a return to that, include the Super Emeralds and see Super Tails face off against the final boss because he deserves that much respect! #Tailsisaherotoo!!

Hope Tails gets some love in next Sonic movie. Hope he gets another game one day, even if fanmade. Loved his Metroidvania game on the GameGear. Tail's best moment in Sonic X was when he outsmarted Shadow, when all the others got their butts handed to them. Even if Shadow cheated with chaos control. >>
I wish SEGA would give Tails his own moment in a game, something that helps his character development, but it might be too late. Also, random thought, but just imagine how badass a Dark Super Tails would be!
My biggest pet peeve is great characters who stick around for twenty years... but their arc finished in the first few so they're kinda just there (looking at you, Toriyama). I wish more writers would give those characters a second arc to keep them relevant.

Sonic 2 was one of the first games I'd ever played. As the younger sibling, it meant playing as the fox boy more often than not, but I was fine with that. Tails eventually became my favorite character in the series, not just because his gameplay was fun and his design was cute, but also he seemed pretty similar to myself. Watching him come into his own while still respecting his hero during the Adventure games was delightful, as I had been growing up more myself during the time those were released. It's heart wrenching to see what poor writing over the years has done to him. He's no longer the loyal partner who could step up if anything happened to Sonic. Instead, he flip-flops between cowardly fanboy and arrogant smartass, neither of which are true to who he started as or who he became. I remember how Miles Prower is supposed to be, and I won't let SEGA or Pontac and Graff try to gaslight me into believing otherwise. On another note, I rather enjoyed your video about Archie Sonic's power in base, as well as your other Sonic content. I think it would be cool to see similar videos about Tails and Knuckles in the Archieverse. Keep up the good work!
In Sonic X and the Archie comics, Tails was brave, loyal and could stand on his own as a hero. Sadly, the current Sega team does not understand or respect Tails and turned him into a pathetic joke of a character. Same goes for Amy, Knuckles and even Sonic himself.

Back in the day, Tails was basically us. Y'know that bit in MGS2 where Raiden fights alongside Snake? Tails did it first with ol' blue. He was living our dreams of paling around and kicking Robuttnik with our hero. And as an eternal sidekick and proud of it, Tails is still one of my number-one best boys. Not for pride, nor for prestige, but for being an ideal good guy who's easy to like.
I can't take the treatment of Tails seriously post colors. This from the kid who took on Robotnick and Chaos 4 in adventure 1, to using his new found confidence and playing to his strengths in SA2, to fighting side by side literally with Sonic and Knuckles in heroes. To cowering in a corner pathetically at the sight at Chaos 0 in Forces. The recent writers either not know or not care about the strengths of the characters and only write them based on their archetypes or flanderizing certain aspects of their personalities.

I liked how Tails was based on the lore of kitsune. In the beginning, Tails was written to be a smart, yet cowardly fox that was dependent on Sonic because those sort of traits are what’s associated with foxes: being intelligent, but also a bit cowardly. But according to kitsune lore, they can ascend to become more powerful and more intelligent and wise with time. In the adventure era, Tails followed that path, in a way, he ascended to become more powerful when Tails decided to be his own independent hero instead of being a scared little kid who’s dependent on Sonic. And then the modern era happened and they completely butchered his character. It’s like they thought cowardice was the only trait associated with kitsune and just completely forgot about all the positive traits associated with them.
As much as I despise Sonic Adventure 2 having Tails stuck in the Cyclone Mech, his character is what got me back into Sonic Games after Sonic and Knuckles. I loved the creativity of his levels, and being the younger cousin when we played Genesis, Tails was always the character I played as. Because I related to him as a very young man on his first video game adventure. And I loved that he grew with me in Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, and the Adventure Series. But to see him regress, even with a soft continuity reboot, is just painful. It's not like Gohan, where he just decided on a career change and wanting to have a comfortable life. Because, say what you will, but I think by the Cell Games, Gohan had done more than his fair share and deserved to retire. I felt as of now, Tails is best portrayed in the IDW comics, In issue 21 Tails tries to find a cure for the Metal Virus but the data gets destroyed, goes into His Cyclone and goes to town on the Zombots only to be heart broken the He had to abandon the Cyclone to not get infected, I just hope Sega can fix Tails aswell as Knuckles and make them playable along with Sonic in the 3D games (just only Sonic, Tails and Knuckles for the most part)
Remember Hyper Tails in the Archie Comics and Sonic 3 & Knuckles? He fought with fucking Ultra Sonic!!!! Which is the strongest form of Sonic yet Hyper Tails can power at the same level!!!! I disagree with you about Unleashed. Those are litterily gods which Tails has never seen before, and it was 7 against one. I don't know about you, but I don't expect Tails to take on 7 enemies at once, especially ones he's never seen before.

Not related, but SEGA announced that apparently Team Dark aren’t friends anymore which is really dumb. Besides that even though Tails was depressed in Forces. It was made poorly so they made him look like a coward and it would have been fine if the first cutscene showed Tails protecting the citizens, but since it was Forces. They messed it up. I really hope that if SEGA hires fans to write the games or Ian Flynn. Hopefully they speak up to SEGA to tell them “This is not how you write characters who have made it so far.”
Recently watched Sonic X. Tails gets good development in that series. He starts off a bit timid. But finds his courage a bit over half way through becoming the teams leader with Sonic as its mascot and MVP. I love how he built and commands the Blue Typhoon. A massive 300 meter Battle Cruiser, Light Carrier hybrid with energy shields, cloaking device, laser and missile launcher batteries, FTL drive, several fighter crafts and the Sonic Power Cannon _(Literally a mass driver that fires Sonic)._
exactly he fights Shadow. *Shadow* he beat up Sonic and Knuckles and he bravely takes him on. Even tho Tails is outmatched, with sheer brainpower and cunning he outsmarts and escapes from Shadow

My biggest pet peeve is great characters who stick around for twenty years... but their arc finished in the first few so they're kinda just there (looking at you, Toriyama). I wish more writers would give those characters a second arc to keep them relevant.

When I first say tails crouch down and yell SONIC HELP ME!after he beat chaos 4 in sonic adventure I was like

Sonic 2 was one of the first games I'd ever played. As the younger sibling, it meant playing as the fox boy more often than not, but I was fine with that. Tails eventually became my favorite character in the series, not just because his gameplay was fun and his design was cute, but also he seemed pretty similar to myself. Watching him come into his own while still respecting his hero during the Adventure games was delightful, as I had been growing up more myself during the time those were released.
It's heart wrenching to see what poor writing over the years has done to him. He's no longer the loyal partner who could step up if anything happened to Sonic. Instead, he flip-flops between cowardly fanboy and arrogant smartass, neither of which are true to who he started as or who he became. I remember how Miles Prower is supposed to be, and I won't let SEGA or Pontac and Graff try to gaslight me into believing otherwise.
On another note, I rather enjoyed your video about Archie Sonic's power in base, as well as your other Sonic content. I think it would be cool to see similar videos about Tails and Knuckles in the Archieverse. Keep up the good work!

In Sonic X and the Archie comics, Tails was brave, loyal and could stand on his own as a hero. Sadly, the current Sega team does not understand or respect Tails and turned him into a pathetic joke of a character. Same goes for Amy, Knuckles and even Sonic himself.
This is why the Mario franchise is better than the Sonic franchise from now on.

Back in the day, Tails was basically us. Y'know that bit in MGS2 where Raiden fights alongside Snake? Tails did it first with ol' blue. He was living our dreams of paling around and kicking Robuttnik with our hero.
And as an eternal sidekick and proud of it, Tails is still one of my number-one best boys. Not for pride, nor for prestige, but for being an ideal good guy who's easy to like.
I can't take the treatment of Tails seriously post colors. This from the kid who took on Robotnick and Chaos 4 in adventure 1, to using his new found confidence and playing to his strengths in SA2, to fighting side by side literally with Sonic and Knuckles in heroes. To cowering in a corner pathetically at the sight at Chaos 0 in Forces.
The recent writers either not know or not care about the strengths of the characters and only write them based on their archetypes or flanderizing certain aspects of their personalities.

I liked how Tails was based on the lore of kitsune. In the beginning, Tails was written to be a smart, yet cowardly fox that was dependent on Sonic because those sort of traits are what’s associated with foxes: being intelligent, but also a bit cowardly. But according to kitsune lore, they can ascend to become more powerful and more intelligent and wise with time. In the adventure era, Tails followed that path, in a way, he ascended to become more powerful when Tails decided to be his own independent hero instead of being a scared little kid who’s dependent on Sonic.
And then the modern era happened and they completely butchered his character. It’s like they thought cowardice was the only trait associated with kitsune and just completely forgot about all the positive traits associated with them.
One word: _Forces_
As much as I despise Sonic Adventure 2 having Tails stuck in the Cyclone Mech, his character is what got me back into Sonic Games after Sonic and Knuckles. I loved the creativity of his levels, and being the younger cousin when we played Genesis, Tails was always the character I played as. Because I related to him as a very young man on his first video game adventure. And I loved that he grew with me in Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles, and the Adventure Series. But to see him regress, even with a soft continuity reboot, is just painful.
It's not like Gohan, where he just decided on a career change and wanting to have a comfortable life. Because, say what you will, but I think by the Cell Games, Gohan had done more than his fair share and deserved to retire. But seeing Tails just go straight back in character without a real explanation just makes me think Sonic team just stopped caring.

agreed, but you can also blame Sega for listening the moronic fanboys, dumbass critics and blind haters saying that Sonic games were sucking due to the "oversaturation" of Sonic characters and ppl like Tails, Knuckles and Shadow were just useless side characters who were devaluing the games quality and needed to be ditched even tho they were further developing and adding substance to the games. I felt as of now, Tails is best portrayed in the IDW comics, In issue 21 Tails tries to find a cure for the Metal Virus but the data gets destroyed, goes into His Cyclone and goes to town on the Zombots only to be heart broken the He had to abandon the Cyclone to not get infected, I just hope Sega can fix Tails aswell as Knuckles and make them playable along with Sonic in the 3D games (just only Sonic, Tails and Knuckles for the most part)

Not related, but SEGA announced that apparently Team Dark aren’t friends anymore which is really dumb.
Besides that even though Tails was depressed in Forces. It was made poorly so they made him look like a coward and it would have been fine if the first cutscene showed Tails protecting the citizens, but since it was Forces. They messed it up. I really hope that if SEGA hires fans to write the games or Ian Flynn. Hopefully they speak up to SEGA to tell them “This is not how you write characters who have made it so far.”

Recently watched Sonic X. Tails gets good development in that series. He starts off a bit timid. But finds his courage a bit over half way through becoming the teams leader with Sonic as its mascot and MVP.
I love how he built and commands the Blue Typhoon. A massive 300 meter Battle Cruiser, Light Carrier hybrid with energy shields, cloaking device, laser and missile launcher batteries, FTL drive, several fighter crafts and the Sonic Power Cannon _(Literally a mass driver that fires Sonic)._

exactly he fights Shadow. *Shadow* he beat up Sonic and Knuckles and he bravely takes him on. Even tho Tails is outmatched, with sheer brainpower and cunning he outsmarts and escapes from Shadow
