Great video thankyou sir. I just built myself a pizza oven in the yard and now thanks to you I'll have a dough roller. I can't wait for the kids to come home to visit dad.
I like that the shop you have a universal and versatile master of you. Often, those who are engaged in joinery absolutely can not work with metal and where you can do elemental metal structure begin to make difficult and unwanted items from the tree. You have all balanced as needed. Thanks for the video and good luck!
when i was taking ceramic classes, the platform we used had a heavy duty cloth attached to it that was secured at one end. this would allow the clay to be removed from the slab roller much easier than trying to remove it from a smooth table top. you had the right idea with using the doubled over cloth, just needed a longer cloth. awesome job!
We had many layers of canvas & then dense but soft sponge/rubber before putting down clay we used damp newspaper which doubled as a non~stick & removal sheet! I once had to roll 50 slabs & using the paper it was easily removed & stacked onto ply overnight, for use in a class I ran for the elderly! I am after a steel roller as I will be printing as well!
This is brilliant! I have been wanting to make something incredibly similar to this for sheeting certain kinds of bread doughs - laminated doughs for croissants and pastries etc. Your design makes a ton of sense and answers a lot of questions I was starting to ask myself. I really love the drive wire mechanism and the stacked plywood roller assembly. Thank you for your videos!
the way that you are creating , is what I was looking to find for years in RUclips between different channels... I should say I really like the creativity and the simplicity of your concepts ... well done man ...
Your work is interesting for many reasons. Partly because your a multi material guy. So many people just work in wood, or metal, not both. I also like your recycling of materials. Your desktop and corner shelves are lovely. Your DIY domino cutter is great. Nice project, the cable drive is interesting. It reminds me of my old drawing desk.
YESSS!!! This is what I have been looking for all these days! I have been yearning to make a die cutting and embossing machine but I had no idea how to do it. Now I can show this vid to someone who can make it for me, in shaa Allah. Keep up the GREAT work. You made it very easy to understand, ma shaa Allah. May Allah reward you for generously walking us through the whole process.
You are a super super genius bro. I love you and your idea that definitely will assist me to safe million dollar as a poor guy to startsomething new. Thanks a lot for your tremendous efforts and time for us.
I have only recently discovered you and am binge watching all your vids. I have ALWAYS wanted a mangle but you just cant find them any more (not without selling yer granny anyway) so I have come to the realisation I will have to make one. Now I've watched this I now have a couple ideas how to start!! Thanks :)
simple and excellent..congrats. I've been working with Clay and pottery for four years. your project looks very effective..so, very soon I will try to make a one. when I finished, will share with you. Thanks a Lot for idea.
Wow! What a fabulous project. Thanks for sharing. I came across your video whilst searching for DIY printing press ideas. I might try adapting your design in wood. Really inspiring! Thanks again, regards, Sebastian
I'm making one very much like this one but I'm using a roller from a free treadmill I picked up. Not the same diameter as yours but it might cut down some of the fabrication time. Your cable drive is awesome!
You are a very talented inventor. I wish I had your gift for ingenuity. I have been looking for a clay slab roller plans for several years. Do you ever the sell construction plans?
WOW... can I come to your house to use the tools and make myself a slab roller or better yet can I pay you enough to make me one... who has all these tools an the skill to accomplish such perfection... what else do you do so well... love this video
@@PaskMakes Well I hope by now you are using a video editor that allows you to remove / swap out the audio track. Pretty standard thing.... RTFM issue perhaps ? ( Read The 'Flipping' Manual ). lol
That is so incredibly cool! Is there a rough list of materials you could give me, for when I manage to source a metal working person??? I’d be perfectly capable of doing all the woodwork, but will need considerable help with the metal! Congratulations! You’re amazing! Many thanks for posting this! Johanna
Hi Neil, just checking out some of your older videos. Just wondering about this one: why not make the roller on your lathe? And after seeing quite a many of your videos: what is your professional background? You seem to have a very large and diverse set of skills, not to mention a large and diverse set of tools as well, haha.
Hey Corne! I reckon you could do it on the lathe, it was a while back now so I'm not sure what my thinking was. My background is the building trade and landscape photography. I'm not sure what real skills I have I just give things a go! :)
@@PaskMakes That 'giving it a go" is one of the things that make your vids realistic: if you "screw up", you say so and tell us how you fixed it (or are planning to fix it / do it otherwise in future builds). Keep up the good work, Neil. I love your scrapwood challenges too!
What a rollercoaster! Well made, nice cuts, very pleasing to watch! As a side note, I would've completely understood if you'd have splitted it into two videos :)
Thank you! I did think about two parts for this video but personally I don't enjoy videos in a series as much. That said I may need to do so in the future. It was difficult to condense this into one and not have it drag on - I kept going back to it for a couple of weeks until I was happy with it.
I can see the effort you've put into this, it's really well made and very nicely cut! :) If it's got to be one, keep the quality and it's going to be fine. Respect for the effort!
Bonjour, votre laminoir pour la poterie est vraiment exceptionnel. Serait-il possible d’avoir le plan pour le reproduire. Merci de me donner la procédure. Bien cordialement

Thanks Sebastian! I've been thinking about making a printing press - not sure when I'll get around to it though! :)

You are amazing! Thanks fo the great videos and inspiration!
Well now I know how I'm going to build my cat flattener!
Awesome video, nice details. not idle chit chat!
Thats an awful and disgusting thing to say, joking or not !
I jumped soooooo hard at the table saw in the beginning. Haha thanks for the wake up
Congratulations. Very good slab roler.
Does anyone have technical specs for this? To build it at home? It’s looks great. Any pointers? Thanks
You can also use a rolling pin (like for pie crust) to roll out slabs of clay.
This was built for a customer that made tiles. She needed the tiles to be a consistent thickness. :)
Yep, for tiles you do need a uniform thickness. :)
Our teacher have used a rolling pin to this kind of work. That was simple this is elegant. :)
Very cool project
Thank you Bill!
Very excellent
Yes, that's It. I was looking for one. I will try to do the same. thanks a lot.
do you have the plan of this machine?
I'd use it in the kitchen for rolling dough. It's hard to get the thickness even when doing it by hand.
Simply brilliant!

I am a new subscriber... Really enjoy your videos

You could also use this to make super tasty croissants by getting a very even slab or butter and dough!
Tysm ✌🏽❤
This is quite interesting!
Thank you! It was an interesting project. There was some head scratching and problem solving!
Dziękuję za świetny pomysł , szukałem takiego . Gratuluję Jerzy
Great skill
Hi, tried to find the plan to this amazing machine on your website, but with no luck. How can I get the plan?🙏
nice job.
Una buena base para un aplanadora de tableros, usando lija para envolver el Rulo y alimentándolo con un motor o un taladro potente.
Brasil, muito bom trabalho
its like a dough sheeter
Chewbacca noise at 7:33!

Vc mandou muito bem ,obrigado pela aula ótimo vídeo parabéns
Excellent Idia
Hi @paskmakes , do you have a project plan with measurements?
What kind of speeds were looking at, 20x? 30x? The only faster were the racecars outside of your house! Good project!
I hate the sound of the cars sped up in my videos but there's nothing I can do about it! ;)
@@PaskMakes Well I hope by now you are using a video editor that allows you to remove / swap out the audio track. Pretty standard thing....

Great video
Are they any plans available ? Please send link. What is width of the roller ?
This would make a great printmaking press.
thanks
Thank you 🖒❤
This is fantastic! would it be possible to the sizes for all of the parts? Want to make this for my wife. Thank you in advance!!!
Mate I have a dip in ceramics and have use them a lot it will be fantastic with clay regards Rob

Di sana jarang kayu bonggolan apa memang fanatik sama kayu lapis ya? Di channel2 lain juga banyak yg selalu pake kayu lapis utk bikin alat2.
