Choosing not to marry is not haram in Islam. In Islam, marriage is considered sunnah (recommended), Those who choose not to marry for valid reasons will not be punished by Allah. One example of a Muslim figure who chose not to marry throughout her life is Rabiah al-Adawiyah.
