Remember the part about no coincidence. Dongeun scouted out the homeroom teacher's son for years. If she had any doubt the son wasn't ambitious and selfish enough to kill his own dad to get ahead, she would have looked for a different option.
I agree with this. She knew him since college remember? and even flirted with him, so in a way he has some kind of attachment with Dong Eun coz it was hinted that he was attracted to her too. I think Dong Eun knows him well enough that he is too ambitious and that if she threatened him to exposed his father he will do something bad. It's actually the perfect revenge for the teacher, his son that he loved so much killed him for his career and that was his last memory with him. Damn! Very well written for me.
you guys think it too far, actually it was told that that teacher's son actually took the teacher qualification exam for SIX TIMES (if i was not mistaken). it means SIX YEARS for him to finally pass to become a licensed practicing teacher. in Korea it is known how hard it is to pass the bar to become a teacher. He also said that it was hard if he didnt make it because he also has to take care of his dad and his hospital bills who's getting older and sick. Meanwhile he also has family on his own, he got wife, he got kid. So it means he's been jobless after graduating college and maybe been living on his dad's pension (this is assumed). While Dongeun only took the test TWICE to make it, it means she studied that hard. Imagine living under insecurity because you see your junior make it in 2 years and you need 6 years to pass. And you about to lose it because your dad's bad past history that's risking your reputation because now you are a teacher. The office of education will not hire him and all his hardwork and patience will mean nothing. Altogether with the burden for him as a breadwinner for his family, and taking care of his old sick father. It will be too much to handle. And that's why he took that choice. And that's why he cry-acting so people will pity him and his dad's bad past history will not affect him. So it's not because he is ambitious, it's just now he's frustated and desperate.
@@hansandika it didn't say that on my Subtitle. It only says that his wife was praying that he'll pass and Dong Eun is praying for him too. Well it's basically the same analysis and you just left out the ambitious part.
@@hansandika There are a lot of people in Korea who have spent years and years trying to pass different type of certification/qualification tests. However, very few of those people have the willingness or balls to kill or help to kill their own family member. So, failing the exam 6 times gives the audience a glimpse of his desperation. However, the really dark side that would allow him to kick away the inhaler is a personality trait that Dongeun saw in him. Another way to look at it is Dongeun may have been grooming him for years, just for that outcome. Anyways, I think there is no doubt that Dongeun knew the son had it in him.
I don't think Dongeun was ever meant to kill the teacher but her revenge is the sunbae/teacher's son future, crumbling down the hope the teacher had for years like how it happen to her. What she did and warn him is about posting her experience to the teacher's board and therefore, making the son can not be accepted in his license. Not just because he has been trying a lot but also because his family reputation going to the gutter. She thought that is his punishment, that's why her lines/dialogue is asking, are you asking about his death or his punishment. The punishment is her doing but the killing isn't exactly the outcome she predicted, she knows the son will do what he can to get the license but she left it to the son's choice.
For this part 13:00 In earlier episodes where Dong Eun was talking to the teacher’s son, she hinted that he’s failed the teacher qualification exam many times before and that means he had no real source of income for all those years despite being married and having a child which meant that he was desperate to pass this time. If the post Dong Eun was gonna make became public, he would have had zero chances of becoming a teacher in Korea. Dong Eun probably didn’t plan for him to kill his dad but she knew his desperation would turn him against his dad and that was enough for her because she knew how much her homeschool teacher loved his son. Also in 14:12 Dong Eun telling her not to “dream of transferring Ye Sol” is a threat that she’ll do something even bigger if she tries to do that.
oh damm i haven't thought about the second thing you said like that.. i just thought she said that bc even if she would transfer her daughter she'd go to the new school as well
16:20 as far as I know, go clubs in Korea are usually considered as those places for local senior men getting together to spend time playing go or just hanging out. It is very rare to find young women playing go, let alone senior women, at local go clubs, so the main bully's husband, who seems to enjoy GO a lot, must have found Dongeun really interesting and even intriguing I guess. In addition, she is beautiful and has this captivating, confident, and intelligent vibe. I guess that's why he kept thinking about her. He's definitely attracted to her as she planned. I can't wait for season two.
The man with the weird hair is the 28th man in the squid game drama Ep5. He is a man who was shot to death by a detective while with a detective disguised as an organ carrier.

For the confusion why the teacher's son killed his father: Teacher's son is going to have last step of test to become a school inspector, but like Dong eun said to him she is going to post something in Office of education website (i think she wanted to post evidence about her being beaten at that time by the teacher). If she post it, bad rumour will spread and the son will fail to become inspector (in korea, you must have good family reputation to be an educator). That's why he is pissed at his dad and killed him.

he was also one of the guards in Squid game; he was #28, the one who Joon-ho ended up shooting after he revealed that the "zombie" was a woman that they took turns on before cutting her up. he really tends to play a creep a lot doesn't he? haha
Back in the days, teachers were allowed to hit their students if they misbehaved actually. My husband actually went to school in korea during those times and they made it illegal right after he graduated. Now hitting a student or even bullying is such a big deal. Celebrities will get canceled and alot of actors have gotten cancelled because they bullied students when they were in school and those who got bullied speak out. Also your homeroom teacher is basically your guardian too. Thats why when they end up at the police station or hospital and they cant get in contact with your parent, they will call your teacher to pick you up.
Yes the glory is based on a true story , there was an interview with the victim too. The girl even wondered the same if she should’ve had revenge like the show . The fact the bullying really happened ? along with her burns? It’s crazy .
It's basically a crossover between two stories. The main, as you're saying, is about that girl but there was also a story of a guy who's got a good education in chemistry and tried to get revenge on his childhood bullies. He failed to do so though. That's why he's mentioning a guy in the video.
The co teacher that have the same hair as our main girl is familiar because you saw him on Atty Woo also. He's the one with the lottery thing, the one with the wife and mistress then died of car accident. Also, Sa Ra, is the one in Atty Woo also. She was the North Korean with a daughter. 😁

19:59 the woman is the mother of Sohie, the girl who got killed by the bully. Yes she got slapped first time but when she try to hit hue second time, the guy stopped her Also, a teacher beating students were very common until about 2000. Koreans valued education very highly and educators were respected. Parents and society believed a teacher hitting students were out of love and wishing students to do better on studies… Also, many of teachers and principals wanted no part in reporting to authorities or help the victim because if the bullying incident got out to public or authorities… then school’s image will be tarnished as well as their career. That kind of thinking comes from the Confucius teaching where the clan/group is more important than one individual.
The girl working at Jaejun's store is the girl who was also bullied after Dong Eun drop out, it's in ep. 1 when they bully a girl by trying to also burn her with the ironing right before Dong Eun came to the gym and confronted the main bully. Anyway, the teacher with weird helmet hairstyle was in Atty Woo, he played the husband who cheated on his wife and killed by truck. Also Sara, she's in Atty Woo played the NK defector mother who's put in jail for trying to take her money back.
I knew it! The casting looked perfect. I recognised her the second she gave that look to the asshole. She will definitely have a bigger role in season 2.
The woman appearing at the 20 minute mark is the mother of Sohee. The mother is still grieving. Dongeun drops by her house time to time to secretly drop off some groceries and household items.
Hye-Jung - the flight attendant is NOT the one who was bullied after the main character left the school. Remember there were two boys and three girls who were bullies. she was just one of them. Also, Sara- the junkie is also a painter and is selling her paintings.
As always. Great reactions! You guys are my favorite drama buddies. Your reactions and perspectives are as fun as the dramas. Love laughing and feeling intrigued rewatching these shows with you all!❤😄
9:06 Of course he looks familiar; he played another evil character in Attorney Woo Young-Woo😭 (the one who got killed in a road accident) Same for the actress who plays Sa-Ra (she was the main character in the North Korean defector episode of Attorney WYW)
Oh man! Your reaction at the last part! The tension between them. Also, he is fixated with Dong Eun coz not only she is beautiful but she is smart and mysterious, while his wife Yeon Jin is just a pretty face. He is smitten man, just like the Doctor. This is a good episode really good and it"s just gonna get better and better!
The teacher with the bowl haircut that looks familiar is the actor that played the scammer husband from one of the cases (He scammed an illegal gambling house and his gambling friend). He then left his wife to another woman he was cheating after winning the trial) on Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
I love how like you guys are so into Kdramas now. Love it. I see myself in you. Loving dramas so much. Its so different from western series. The story takes you in and thats pretty rare in western dramas. There a few but not as good as how kdramas pull you in.
You are right. True stories are mixed. For example, abuse with a straightener, a body that has been stored in a morgue for over 10 years because the parents did not admit that their child committed suicide, and so on. In fact, storage fees exceeded 100 million won. Facts are mixed in the story.

The man who died was a friend of the doctor's who would make fun of him every time he went to the park and Dong-eun wasn't there. If I recall correctly, he wasn't allowed to have caffeine and the coffee the doctor had for him was indicating he was giving him a little cheat day. ~ The guy with the weird hair is the man from Attorney Woo who won the lottery and then went crazy and got killed.
The bully guy ( the guy who is in the bath tub with a red hair girl) he color blind. So, that’s why he always pissed when ever someone said about not know what color or colorful. So, ya. I really enjoyed your reaction can’t wait for the next and see u guys tomorrow. 💜
8:17 he looked familiar to me too Then I realised he looked like Snape from Harry Potter cause I haven't seen this actor before, maybe that's why he looked familiar to u guys too😂
Like back then things like that happened. But nowadays if any celeb or anyone bullied anyone in the past or present, omg they are done with their career. Korea takes this issue super seriously. So yeah Yeon-Jin is scared that the public finds out and her daughter finds out too
Okay, clarification on this being a "true" story. The entire story is pure fiction. However, the writer incorporated some real life events into the overall narrative. A girl getting burned by a curling iron did happen (in junior high, not high school as in this show). The victim of that real life event recently came on few shows to do some interviews. She's still traumatized and has burn scars on her arms. The perpetrators (two) of the real event never received any serious punishment. The victim looked them up on social media recently and found out that one is a nurse and the other is a social worker, living happy lives as if nothing happened.
14:26 Idk why the subtitles got repeated here, but if you go back, Dong-eun said, “I’ll move schools with her.” after saying “Move her to another school? Don’t even think about it.”
The male teacher with weird hair is the husband in Woo Young-Woo who was gambling and his pack of friends won a lottery then he betrays his wife and get killed by a truck.
Dudes, Sa-ra is not drugging those people. Those are vitamin IVs to boost energy and focus. Those people are her art students. In Korea, it is common for people to get vitamin IVs if they are feeling under the weather. It was a thing for awhile but not really any more. Sa-ra is an artist and she sells her own artwork. The drugs are for herself.

I don’t do well with any bullying scenes and since I did come across some spoilers about how bad it was I had to prepare myself mentally before watching it… but I literally binged the whole 8 episodes yesterday 🙈 I did have to look away during a few scenes but the revenge plot is soooo freaking good!! What she's saying to Yeon-Jin isn't very well translated for context. What she means is that if she moves her daughter to another school she'll follow her to that school and she won't be able to move her to another school because of the dirt she has on the boss. She's basically saying no matter what she tries she won't be able to escape her punishment.

19:59 the woman is the mother of Sohie, the girl who got killed by the bully.
Yes she got slapped first time but when she try to hit hue second time, the guy stopped her
Also, a teacher beating students were very common until about 2000. Koreans valued education very highly and educators were respected. Parents and society believed a teacher hitting students were out of love and wishing students to do better on studies…
Also, many of teachers and principals wanted no part in reporting to authorities or help the victim because if the bullying incident got out to public or authorities… then school’s image will be tarnished as well as their career. That kind of thinking comes from the Confucius teaching where the clan/group is more important than one individual.
i ain't reading that
@@Chadmi333 and nobody asked you to read
Pues en LATAM era algo similar recuerdo que cuando iba a primer grado todavía nos pegaban los maestros, luego todo cambió.
@@Chadmi333 liking your own comment is insane 🎵
Yes if you keep going at this rate you’ll finish it in time for Season 2 on 10/03
their chemistry god damn
22:47 he was too quick w tht response😭🤣 I almost screamed LMAO
She knows everything she deliberately brought the flowers to Mr kim
The woman appearing at the 20 minute mark is the mother of Sohee. The mother is still grieving. Dongeun drops by her house time to time to secretly drop off some groceries and household items.
Hye-Jung - the flight attendant is NOT the one who was bullied after the main character left the school. Remember there were two boys and three girls who were bullies. she was just one of them. Also, Sara- the junkie is also a painter and is selling her paintings.
Usually oldest or man play Go. So when he saw young lady play between old man, it was very unique memory for him.
Justo y necesario! After a long day at work, here we are eating dinner watching this amazing guys, thank you so much 😖🤌🏻💜🇨🇴
As always. Great reactions! You guys are my favorite drama buddies. Your reactions and perspectives are as fun as the dramas. Love laughing and feeling intrigued rewatching these shows with you all!❤😄
This drama is inspired by the true story of a student who was bullied with a hair straightener
23:20 It is so nice to see that you guys understand story!! :)
Yeah. I'm hoping they will upload the other reviews soon.
23:53 Rj picked up on Go faster than me 😂😂😂
Love watching The Glory with your reactions! Pretty much loving it!
I love that you’re uploading this asap.
I love how like you guys are so into Kdramas now. Love it. I see myself in you. Loving dramas so much. Its so different from western series. The story takes you in and thats pretty rare in western dramas. There a few but not as good as how kdramas pull you in.
I'm telling you first few episodes were confusing at first then it gets better and better ! I can't wait until I get to see season 2
I absolutely love your reactions. I'm subbing now.
YAAAAY!! always waiting for the upload😌
You are right. True stories are mixed. For example, abuse with a straightener, a body that has been stored in a morgue for over 10 years because the parents did not admit that their child committed suicide, and so on.
In fact, storage fees exceeded 100 million won. Facts are mixed in the story.
Is BULLYING is really happens happening in Korea like this..i thought only body shaming and stupid korean beauty standards..is this for real after all watching this my view on Korea just changed ..such a evil country..i

The other teacher whose hair is weird af is actually also in one of the episode of Atty. Woo. Remember the husband who cheated rode a new car and then got hit by a big truck? Thats him! Haha
9:05 the man there is the bad husband from Attorney Woo, the case about the lottery ticket in which he ends up dy ing.
한국인입니다. 더 글로리를 본사람으로 같이 보면서 리액션하는 느낌이네요.
한국 작품 많이 사랑해 주세요.
I love you for dropping the next episode so soon❤
Mr. Chu, who looks familiar with long hair, is a man who died in a car accident while betraying his wife after winning the lottery in Woo Young-woo.
Waw... Episode 4 already, yessss 🔥❤️🔥
You guys are amazing ❤️ please keep watching you'll all love it and stay tuned this Friday is the second season and yes he is from sweet home.. love you guys 😊 🙏
You guys' reaction is awesome. My fav!!!
actually starting from ep 4 it will get more intense so Im looking forward that you'll say that every eps will be your favorites😅
I just watched 1 part of the glory fully (without any spoilers) I’m just sure that this weird teacher with long haircut and the girl who works at the Jaejun’s store are gonna be key side characters in the 2 part which will
come out in 5 days
Playing "Go" bet money, 20,000 won is about $22 and 50,000 won is about $53.
The man who died was a friend of the doctor's who would make fun of him every time he went to the park and Dong-eun wasn't there. If I recall correctly, he wasn't allowed to have caffeine and the coffee the doctor had for him was indicating he was giving him a little cheat day.
~
The guy with the weird hair is the man from Attorney Woo who won the lottery and then went crazy and got killed.
The bully guy ( the guy who is in the bath tub with a red hair girl) he color blind. So, that’s why he always pissed when ever someone said about not know what color or colorful. So, ya. I really enjoyed your reaction can’t wait for the next and see u guys tomorrow. 💜
I think the RUclips channel K-digest posted an interview with a girl who was bullied and burned with a haircurler when she was at school
8:17 he looked familiar to me too
Then I realised he looked like Snape from Harry Potter cause I haven't seen this actor before, maybe that's why he looked familiar to u guys too😂
Like back then things like that happened. But nowadays if any celeb or anyone bullied anyone in the past or present, omg they are done with their career. Korea takes this issue super seriously. So yeah Yeon-Jin is scared that the public finds out and her daughter finds out too
The only thing that creeps me out is when the main character say “ my dream is to be you.” O.O yep. That says it all!
I've been following you guys since the My Name reactions and feel like you might love the Arcane series!!
I would love to see them react to it too but....They saw it off screen🙃
Clicked it as soon as I saw it. Oh my gosh!!
14:26 Idk why the subtitles got repeated here, but if you go back, Dong-eun said, “I’ll move schools with her.” after saying “Move her to another school? Don’t even think about it.”
The guy with the bob is a soldier in Squid Games! I knew I saw him from somewhere.
The drugs are for herself.
omg episode 4 already. yesss
ima give your reaction 10/10
Batman and Joker? Bro she’s the Batman who Laughs 😂
Just finished watching the reaction to ep 3 like a min ago
J’aime trop leur réactions 😍😍🫶🏾
His punishment was that the son he put on a pettle stool! ended up betraying him👀
Love watching your reaction guys.
I want to recomend you another kdrama that really really great, its Hospital Playlist. I hope i can see your reaction to this drama 😁
ANOTHER EPISODE YASSSS
Guys I just watch reaction episode 3 damn you guys are fast keep it up love it ..
Jeff: “how you know?” had me weak 😂😂😂
By the way Sara is the painter of those paintings and her father is the pastor/preacher of the church.
You can react season 2 too the glory season 2 is coming on march 10 be ready guys that season will be full of action and revenge
Liked this video before even watching xD I hesitated so long to watch this drama because of the heavy bullying. And this is my psycho side speaking lol but I hope all those a-holes get what they deserve!
Hye-jeong was never bullied by them but they look down on her because she's poor, she was the other bully with a donkey cut
I love kdrama's because of psychological genre? I'm not sure of the term. And it's so poetic too.
Can't wait for season 2 fr
It gives a different kind of fun rewatching these dramas again with you guys… looking forward others too!
I know you guys mostly do Videos with K contents but if you guys have time and any chance, give reaction about ‘we are the world’ song covered by CHINLUNG CHUAK ARTIST by using your platform to spread more words about Myanmar.
Omg thank you uploading so fast!! Are y’all are gonna finish before part 2 comes out?! 😆
Omg y’all should watch uncanny counter after the glory it’s really good ❤
What she's saying to Yeon-Jin isn't very well translated for context. What she means is that if she moves her daughter to another school she'll follow her to that school and she won't be able to move her to another school because of the dirt she has on the boss. She's basically saying no matter what she tries she won't be able to escape her punishment.
