Thanks @ReefDudes. It is a pretty amazing trailer. Lithium and solar have come a long way. To be able to use all of the creature comforts off-grid is huge.
@@christianherrmann2842 I was using propane (LP) for heat and hot water (Truma Combi). The heated tanks, as well as everything else, used batteries. Thanks for the question.
Thank you, Ember. It was fun to fully test the Overland in its elements. We are planning on doing more tests and trips with your RV's. Let us know if you have any suggestions 👍
Wife and I are actually looking at this trialer right now and that off grid package they have really sets it apart. And it's nice to see a practical, real-world test of it.
The Truma Combi Eco Plus is a game changer! It is almost completely silent and extremely efficient. Thank you for keeping us warm @trumaNorthAmerica 😎 We can't wait to test the Truma Aventa A/C this summer!
I want to know how the Ember sta is up to rain and wet weather I have seen where an owner had problems with leaks I want to know if Ember has fixed this problem and also how often do you need to worry about resealing stuff here because I'm looking at purchasing a unit
Excellent question! Ember has promptly addressed and resolved known issues. They are a dedicated manufacturer collaborating closely with customers and dealerships to tackle problems. If you visit the 'Official Ember Recreational Vehicles Group' on Facebook, you'll see Ember actively engaging with the community, addressing concerns, and answering questions from owners. Here is the group link: facebook.com/share/wV2TAVa7CajJKbJL/ This would be a great place to ask other owners about their experience with Ember and address your concerns. Regarding Ember roofs, the roofing and maintenance requirements vary based on the model. For example, the Overland Series features an Azdel roof, eliminating the need for annual re-sealing. However, it's important to remember that regular roof inspections, cleanliness, and debris removal are crucial maintenance practices for all models, ensuring the longevity and performance of your RV. Good question @joehysong2078. We un-winterized the trailer and put fresh water into it for this test. The Ember Overland has 3 electric pad heaters to keep the tanks from freezing. A lot of the power that was consumed was from the tank heaters always running.
Hey @legenjerry96, this Ember came from the factory with all the options we talked about in the video. We got the MAX SOLAR PACKAGE, which has a 3000W Victron Inverter (instead of 2000W) with Cerbo GX Communication Center, a 270Ah 12V Battle Born Gamechanger Lithium-ion Battery, Two Extra Roof-mounted 200W Solar Panels (800W total), Upgraded Victron Bluetooth MPPT Controller, and a REDARC DC to DC Trailer Battery Charger. Hope this helps :)
So, let me get this straight... You want to watch us suffer more? Ha ha ha. 🤣🥶 We're looking to do more cold-weather camping in various RVs. When you mention "smaller campers," are you referring to Truck Campers or compact Travel Trailers?
The compact travel trailer's I live in northern Minnesota and I was looking to get something that would be warm and comfortable for the winter 💪💪😁@@voyagerrvcentre
Hey Greg, every part of the Ember was used during this test: the fridge, water, hot water, heater, microwave/air fryer, and tank heaters to keep them from freezing. We wanted to make sure the Ember lived up to its claims. And as you can see in the video, it did. 😎
That’s looks pretty awesome. Love the idea of all the luxuries running of battery for thsoe off grid excursions!

Yes, the Off-Grid Package is amazing. I'm glad you found the video helpful. It sure was fun to do.
Very cool video! 🔥🔥🔥

We have the Max solar and live off grid so far 4 mths and rarely have to charge the batteries with our gas gen
That is fantastic to hear! The Max Solar Package is what was on the Ember we tested in this video.

We used the bunk area as our closet and pantry

Ibex and nobo should be next for his test… I am looking a all these
Steer clear of the NOBO. Ibex might have more insulation but my 19.6 caps out at like 30f

What did you do for water were you already winterized?

What do you do the second night? What is the backup for heat?
It was only the one night. As for heat, that is still ran off of Propane (LP).
Did you install more batteries or just the 400W solar that the dealership installed?
