Did the same job on my wife’s Disco 2 a couple of years back on the floor of my garage.. I ordered some large ramps and got the vehicle up as high as I could and level but even then it’s a bastard of a job. I pulled both box’s out in one and then split them on the floor to make it easier to put back in which is what you did. It really is a ramp job and as we won’t ever get rid of ours as we’ve owned it from new I put the solid mass flywheel in with a LOF heavy duty clutch. I nearly got Ashcroft to do the R380 gearbox when it was all out but it would have delayed the job by weeks. 208,000 miles now and the gearbox is the original and the transfer box (put a few seals in when it was out) and both axles are original. I did my apprenticeship on Land Rovers when I left school and I’ve worked on many 4x4s when I was working in garages and all the big 4x4s are the same…HEAVY! I will say it’s the hardest job I’ve ever done on the floor and I’ve told the wife when it goes again then it won’t be me doing it lol.
Hi great video i just brought a 2002 landrover discovery td5 with a crook auto gearbox the owner took it to a gearbox place they said the the trigger wheel sensor was off center trigger wheel was found to be very loose and can move back and fourth 10mm would that cause it to only have first gear and reverse ive been told its a common problem the bolt comes loose
Because the clutch on a Toyota never goes! You 🤡🤡🤡 really need to listen to yourselves.. I’ve been around 4x4s along time and they all break! I know one thing.. if Jackanory drove a 4x4 it would be without a doubt a Toyota!!!!
I have put two of these clutches in. Loved working on them. Quite straightforward
they are straightforward butttt everything is so heavy 😁 lil arms not used to it
You can come and bleed mine then 😊
