This is my favorite series by the Blues...obviously nothing beats the 2019 cup but beating this Blackhawks team comes close. They were an unstoppable force in those years.
Here almost 7 years later I regret not going to this game. Almost did but chose not to..... made up for it in May of 2019 with game 7 of the series against Dallas.
@@SeekandDewhiplash I had a beer league game in St Louis on the night of this game (lived in Columbia) so I was really hoping we could keep up with the action on the bench. A lot of people had their phones on the bench. Then at puck drop, we hear the game come over the speakers, and they played the game in the rink while we played. Afterwards, pretty much everyone shuffled to the lobby in their gear and sat in the chairs watching the last few minutes of the game. I don't know that I could have asked for a better way to watch the game.
I was at the hospital in the waiting room watching this game . My daughter was in labor. My daughter gave birth to a healthy baby girl, about a half hour after the game. My first grandchild. The Blues put a stop to the Blackhawks winning ways. They haven’t been competitive or relevant since. What a great day!
No matter what side you were on, this was a game for the ages. Tense, close and a all out war. This game had the feel of a Conference final, yet it was the first round. It was to bad the blues didnt actually win it all in 2016, as this was, in my opinion, one of the best blues teams I have seen. Though 2019 they finally did it, I still feel like this was a team that should have won it.. but having the hawks in the first round really wore them down by the third round. This was all out war. Either side could of won, and both deserved to go beyond the first round.
Never have I enjoyed a game like this one. In all my 77 years have I seen a better hockey game. Thank you for it's post. Thank you both teams-EXCELLENT.
I will always remember that double post that Seabrook did. Ik that Panik tipped it but I still count it as Seabrooks. But my heart sunk when I heard that post. I had never been more nervous ever before. It was nothing more and nothing less than a miracle. But when I heard that post I thought it was over. But this was a hell of a Game 7. You don't see many better games than this
Now you know how us Wings fans felt after 2013… granted, there wasn’t a dirty *missed Dave Bolland boarding on Gus Nyquist* before the nail in the coffin with this game, like there was preceding Seabrook’s OT goal. Felt a lot cleaner, hence, deserved by the Blues. With that said, you guys will be back, no doubt. Connor Bedard is an absolute god. Granted, the Hawks are certainly harder to root for nowadays after that whole scandal, but you guys passed that torch to Edmonton after they hired Stan (side note… the Oilers are ran by morons. Lmao), and I grew up near Chi-town, so it just feels completely wrong not to have great hockey around here. Regardless of who, let it be an Original 6. 🤝 (Except the Leafs. I wish nothing but first-round exits and playoff-choke-galore for them. 😂)
If you're going to lose to the Blues in game 7, then this was a game to watch. Pathetic loss by the Stars to the Blues in the second round. Even worse the place emptied out. Dallas had entertaining hockey all year and their fans should have stayed to the end. The Playoffs is about peaking at the right time. I expect a Blues - Penguins final and that should be hard played hockey. Thanks for posting the game.
+ml k I really hope the Blues can make past the Sharks. My unbiased opinion is that the Sharks are a much better playoff team right now. A few examples: 1) Sharks have been consistently good through the whole playoffs. They weren't necessarily outplayed in their losses. The Blues are a hard team to beat when they play their best, but have not played consistent. They have had bad games and bad periods in both Dallas and Chicago where they were heavily outplayed by the other team. 2) In game 7, Sharks scored 5-0 on a top goaltender Pekka Rinne. All 5 games Rinne had very little chance on. That is not comparable to the Blues scoring 6-1 in game 7 v Dallas, as that was because Dallas had very shaky goaltending. The Blues could not get a 5-0 or similar lead on a goalie like Corey Crawford. Blues only beat Chicago in their games by just one more goal. 3) The Blues frequently allow the other team to have more shots on goal. In the Blues wins, they were heavily outshot, but were saved by Elliot. In the Chicago series, the Blues victory was really decided by the right power plays/penalties at the right time, good breaks, lucky bounces. If Blues want to win against the Sharks, they have some serious work to do. The Sharks are a team than can score 4+ goals on a great goaltender. Blues have to find a way to do the same. They play consistently offensive with no bad 2nd periods like the Blues have had. Blues have to play consistent. One goal leads aren't going to cut it, so Blues have to ram it up offensively and outshoot the opposing team for once.
From Playoff Rivals to Draft pick rivals.. we're always in the same place lol. This was a hell of a series, should be been closed earlier but Chicago really didn't want to go out early. We can both agree, Fuck Nashville.
Hockey, and all pro sports, are so much better with fans. Wish the Hawks could have kept Tereveinen and Panarin. The hard salary cap sucks- your organization scouts, drafts and develops young talent just so they can become prohibitively expensive and cornerstones of other franchises.
I was at work and couldn't watch so I tracked it on my phone. I'm glad I didn't watch this live. It's tied for 2014 game 7 vs Kings as least favorite game in my time following the Blackhawks. I knew the game was over when I saw the 3rd goal update on my phone.

Thanks for the post! Here I am, mid-August. I'm going thru serious Hockey withdrawal. This is relief!
ha! me too, friend. me too.
I feel bad for you that your withdrawals came this early! Mine just came tonight while doing math homework!
I still get goosebumps watching this game. It will forever be in my heart.
In my opinion this was the beginning of the end for the Blackhawks
6:29 Blues Goal 1
25:24 Blues Goal 2
33:12 Blackhawks Goal 1
42:25 Blackhawks Goal 2
1:22:31 Blues Goal 3

Having serious withdrawal and stumbled on this video. Put a smile on my face. Thanks for posting it.
1:36:25 Still gives me goosebumps. What a series.
That shit was 🤯🤯🤯
Still can't believe that puck stayed out...
Especially when Doc shouted *_"Hit both posts!"_*
I agree with Gregory. Awesome stuff! It's hard to keep up with the playoffs when I don't have cable. I appreciate it!
Here due to covid suspended season...
best subscribe on youtube in a while, you're the best man, keep the games coming!
Heartbreaking loss. But what a grinding series this was. Back and forth the entire series. The Blues deserved it this year.
Ian Taylor BOO go blues
What a series, congrats to both teams 👏
As a NYR fan, since we got knocked out round one, it would have been nice to see St. Louis or San Jose get it done
As a Hawks fan, this series still haunts me
JK 64 And you never won a playoff game after that
@JK 64 Dude, Im just a hockey fan, why does your reply need to be so... mean. St. Louis kicks our ass in every game anyway.
I'll forever hate Troy Brouwer for this game even tho he was on the 2010 championship team.
This was officially the end of the hawks dynasty

One of the best playoff games of all time.
Energy of the crowd was crazy. What's taking so long for the NBA to get franchise in St. Louis???
