  • The Seaside Discourse is a Platform created by SambaSports Youth Agenda to afford people of coastal counties the thirst and convenience to engage in dialogues, debates and conferences to dissect and re-strategize on matters affecting Coastal Communities. Through funding from the Fazil Chinoy Fellowship, the Fazil Chinoy Debate Contest is part of the Seaside Discourse, coordinated by ILLP program, the Intellectual Literacy and Leadership Program, which mentors young high school students on language proficiency and ethical leadership.
Led by Amani Nuri, one of our pioneer Fazil Chinoy Fellowship beneficiaries, the ILLP has been a breath of fresh air in the lives of students at Waa Boys, Kaya Tiwi and Mwanambeyu Girls High Schools. The ILLP program also nurtures ethical leadership grooming for pupils at Mbweka, Yeje, and Mkokoni Primary Schools.
In this particular debate contest, Waa Boys and Kwale Boys High Schools are debating on the impact of overreliance of tourism to the fortunes of Costal Counties. Is Tourism a Blessing, or a hidden Curse?
