Thanks for the video! This video was perfect. Gave me the confidence to buy the battery direct and do this myself. Saved me a ton of money instead of going through the dealer for the battery and labor. This was a fun project and the video allowed a desk jockey enough information to handle the battery swap job. Much Appreciated!
Great to hear! This made my day. Thank you so much. A thumbs up and subscribe would mean the world to us.
Hello. Did the car needed any reprogramming afterwards
Thanks for making such an awesome video , just replaced the hybrid battery myself on Toyota camry hybrid 2016 model . Im in Australia so the battery configuration was on opposite side but followed the steps from the video and it went great.
Thank you so much. Your video was a lifesaver when I worked on my TCH. Best video so far on RUclips
Glad it helped! Wow, thank you so much for that compliment.
This reminds me of taking apart my Xbox 360 back in the old days when I was a kid, and reassembling it. but on a much larger, complex scale here. LOL
The side metal piece you removed with nuts on either side with the plastic clip does not need to be removed when removing the battery. Neither does the fan. I find it quicker to leave them both in.
I agree, I think I was just so used to removing from doing so many 1st Gen Camry hybrids. The 2nd Gen Camry is a little easier, tho the cabin interior can be a pain.
Great video on how to do this the right way, I believe that I could do this job my self, but I'll let my mechanic do it for me instead.
For sure, it can be time consuming and cleaning the battery tray is pretty dirty work.
Hi, You have explained very simply and informatively in this video, thank you very much
I have a question,
I have Camry 2013, and its hybrid battery is dead can i drive it?
The system hybrid check light is on.
I would be grateful if you could help.
Its a good idea to pause after all electrical connections are made, to start car to make sure everything is working before installing trim. Otherwise, good video.
Doing mine tomorrow ,thanks a bunch !
Great! Good luck with it
Hello. Is it safe to perfrom this procedure with out checking the actual potential difference on the high voltage wires like it said in workshop manual?
Does this procedure require any actions with configuring/calibration electrical modules on a vehicle? Before/after?
Question: I agree this was a great-detailed video for exchanging the hybrid battery. My question is the Check Hybrid Battery indicator light comes on when I start the car having replaced the hybrid battery. I have unplugged the orange breaker fuse and also disconnected the 12 volt battery in hopes of resetting the system. This morning I put in a second refurbished battery having sent the first one back two weeks ago. I am STILL getting the Check Hybrid Battery indicator light on. I have double checked all connections and everything is as it should be. What do I do now? take the car to a Toyota dealership and have them diagnosis the 'new' problem? Is there some reset process I am unaware of?
Yes, you need to have proper diagnostics done by a tech or the dealership. Could be several things keeping the DTC present.
Gracias amigo desde Costa Rica!
I’m test driving before I put the interior back in.
This is a K I C K - A S S Video- Thank you!
I appreciate your compliment more than you know.
nice work. you definitely earn my subcriction and like . question do you think I must use a computer memory keeper?
Did i watch this video to learn how to change the hybrid battery in my car? YES. Am i gonna do it? NO
Haha, best reply I’ve seen in a long while. It’s not fun for sure.
Definitely not a job for a DIY average guy...take it to a pro....
😂 same!
Wuss!
@@douglasb.1238I guess you’re not a DIYer?
Hello dear Friend, amazing video boosted me to more confient. I have 2 question s: I want to change my camery battery, can you sell to me if you have used very good battery?
Can I replace by myself? I appreciated your dedication.
Thank you very much for the good words, we really appreciate it. I have the rebuild kits for sale, but we do not ship used batteries, we only sell them locally.
Clean job👍🏻
I really appreciate it.
I love your video you did well thanks a lot
Thank you so much for this comment
Hello. Can you please name the connector you referred to as "this guy" in minute 9:22, right before connecting the orange and white. Thanks in advance.
Super helpful video thank you!
Thank you so much! Comments like yours keep me going.
Thank you,
You are welcome!
When replacing the battery does one need to sync the battery to the car’s ECU/ECM?
No, it doesn’t need to be programmed.
I was wondering that too. Had to have a 2010 Lacrosse towed to the stealership to reprogram computer after I replaced transmission. Ripe off.
How much does it cost for a new battery for Hybrid Camry 2714? Also did you see any changes in fuel consumption? Thank you.
We should do a test on improved fuel consumption. So many factors though. The price is $2650 to your door.
@@PalmettoBatteryPros Thank you. 🌷🌷
@@PalmettoBatteryPros what is the total cost for the whole job ?
Hi i would like to ask you if you don't mind? because i have Toyota Sai from japan and i want to clean battery filter & fan, now my question is it the same how to dismantle the sets of your toyota Camry? Thanks
I'm sorry, I am not familiar with the Toyota Sai.
is it lithium-ion or nickel metal hydride?
Nickel metal
digging into my 12 camry .., have priuses i've had and camry is another ballgame ..quite a bit of deesign change not to mention the dang bigger 17 block amount ... in humid locations , a pin on the battery computer will totally disintegrate,, this happened to me and i m still putting the thing back together ...
bus bars were very blackish and some whitish corrosion layer requiring wire wheel to remove .. did some soaking in vinegar ad then baking soda ... -- i might but vaseline over top when its all torqued down .... of course battery modules (several pairs ) needed charging .. or cycling .. D>C cycles at least 3 ... very very time consuming ....
on the prius. it was not just the battery issue that kept creeping back but then about 165k .. the brake module /ABS goes bad and u hear warning of the pump coming on more and more to make pressure ... man that break module removal just about 'broke my back' ...
We replace bus bars with Nickel plated bus bar kits. I do retain the old copper bus bars to scrap. I probably have 30lbs of old bus bars in a box.
Great video.
Thanks! Comments like this keep us going.
How many miles did this battery last?
I’m not sure, it’s still in use.
how u didnt even check before tp put the interior back on ?
that fan was clean. i checked mine at 120k and it was Cleaaaaan and mine has no filter
Do you have a video on how you, "fixed", your battery? It seems like it was like a mileage based service problem that Toyota built into the unit.
I'm sorry, I'm not following your question. The modules fail due to age or usage, 175K+ or 12 years are the averages.
@@PalmettoBatteryPros My system which is a 2014 Camry decided to cut out on me but I wasn't sure if it was something that Toyota built into it for me to maintain at about 125,000 mi so I just wasn't sure if they put like a little maintenance switch in there that triggers at 125,000 mi to get me to go to the dealer and then consider options about changing out the battery
why is the battery casing red? The OEM is silver.
This is our cover with aftermarket modules inside.
@@PalmettoBatteryPros do you know why the es300h has a different OEM part number than the Camry hybrid for the battery? They are they same spec and looks the same from the outside. Are mounting holes in different positions?
I replace the battery and now my car won’t start?
I would check the 12v cranking battery and make sure your service plug is installed properly. You can also unplug 12v and service plug, then reinstall service plug then 12v battery in that order.
How did you fix it ?
How did you fix it?
@@kenanisa3455 I had missed one of the plugs 😂.. just make sure that you find out why your last battery went out.
Hi are you based in chicago?
I am located in Charleston, SC.
What is the highest mileage you have seen on Toyota hybrid battery? Is it true that time kills the battery and not mileage?
My dealer says they can't sell me a hybrid battery. I have to go through service department and let them do it. Why is that??
They want to charge you $5k, that's why. Even other shops charge less than what the dealer
Yes that's what they quoted. But I'm not getting any codes so I'm going to keep driving it.
