    Thanks for the video! This video was perfect. Gave me the confidence to buy the battery direct and do this myself. Saved me a ton of money instead of going through the dealer for the battery and labor. This was a fun project and the video allowed a desk jockey enough information to handle the battery swap job. Much Appreciated!

    The side metal piece you removed with nuts on either side with the plastic clip does not need to be removed when removing the battery. Neither does the fan. I find it quicker to leave them both in.

      I agree, I think I was just so used to removing from doing so many 1st Gen Camry hybrids. The 2nd Gen Camry is a little easier, tho the cabin interior can be a pain.

    Does this procedure require any actions with configuring/calibration electrical modules on a vehicle? Before/after?

    Question: I agree this was a great-detailed video for exchanging the hybrid battery. My question is the Check Hybrid Battery indicator light comes on when I start the car having replaced the hybrid battery. I have unplugged the orange breaker fuse and also disconnected the 12 volt battery in hopes of resetting the system. This morning I put in a second refurbished battery having sent the first one back two weeks ago. I am STILL getting the Check Hybrid Battery indicator light on. I have double checked all connections and everything is as it should be. What do I do now? take the car to a Toyota dealership and have them diagnosis the 'new' problem? Is there some reset process I am unaware of?

    • @PalmettoBatteryPros
      @PalmettoBatteryPros  Год назад +1

      Yes, you need to have proper diagnostics done by a tech or the dealership. Could be several things keeping the DTC present.

    digging into my 12 camry .., have priuses i've had and camry is another ballgame ..quite a bit of deesign change not to mention the dang bigger 17 block amount ... in humid locations , a pin on the battery computer will totally disintegrate,, this happened to me and i m still putting the thing back together ...

      bus bars were very blackish and some whitish corrosion layer requiring wire wheel to remove .. did some soaking in vinegar ad then baking soda ... -- i might but vaseline over top when its all torqued down .... of course battery modules (several pairs ) needed charging .. or cycling .. D>C cycles at least 3 ... very very time consuming ....
      on the prius. it was not just the battery issue that kept creeping back but then about 165k .. the brake module /ABS goes bad and u hear warning of the pump coming on more and more to make pressure ... man that break module removal just about 'broke my back' ...

      We replace bus bars with Nickel plated bus bar kits. I do retain the old copper bus bars to scrap. I probably have 30lbs of old bus bars in a box.

    Do you have a video on how you, "fixed", your battery? It seems like it was like a mileage based service problem that Toyota built into the unit.

    • @PalmettoBatteryPros
      @PalmettoBatteryPros  2 года назад +2

      I'm sorry, I'm not following your question. The modules fail due to age or usage, 175K+ or 12 years are the averages.

      @@PalmettoBatteryPros My system which is a 2014 Camry decided to cut out on me but I wasn't sure if it was something that Toyota built into it for me to maintain at about 125,000 mi so I just wasn't sure if they put like a little maintenance switch in there that triggers at 125,000 mi to get me to go to the dealer and then consider options about changing out the battery
