My Sega CD collection includes most heavy hitters including snatcher. The Sega CD deserves more love as it was a new tech back in my childhood. Sega was ahead of it's time. WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL
NIGHT TRAP: RELAX PRETEND ITS A GAME

Maybe it'll even be fun...SHOOT THE TUBES DOGMEAT! lol Love it!

YES, it absolutely deserves more love, or at least not the hate that it gets. And I love me some Snatcher and Night Trap😁 Thanks for watching!!

Wow, your collection is so different from mine! As a kid I went more for the Working Designs RPGs instead of the FMVs.
The fuse thing totally makes sense now! I went through multiple model 1s as a kid and could never figure out why. I had a whole system of cobbling together enough money to buy a new one, swap out the broken one, and then return the busted one. Eventually I got a model 2 but like you think the model 1s just look cooler.

I love how you start off with the only 2 games I owned for Sega CD as a kid lol. Got Bram Stokers with my model 1 for Christmas in 1993 and got Cliffhanger as a random gift from my uncle while on a trip in '95 lol. Probably a bargain bin game at that point but my brother and I spent a lot of time on those snowboarding stages lol.

Oh no, Cliffhanger and Bram Stoker's Dracula were your only Sega CD games?!? You probably HATED the Sega CD, and I wouldn't blame you, lol😜I promise there's better games on the platform!! All that being said, I guess the question is, with all the time you spent in the snowboarding stage, did you ever get past it??? Thanks for watching!!

As a big sega cd fan this was a great review. Rise of the dragon is a terrific game. One of the most iconic games for the system. Jurassic park is a good game as well but it really picks up deeper you get into the game. Long live the sega cd.

Oh man I absolutely loved my Sega CD! My favorite ,hands down, is Ground Zero Texas. A great sci-fi FMV game. I actually beat this one and Double Trap, which is my second favorite. Of course, who can forget the amazing Blade Runner-esque Snatcher. Sonic CD, Star Wars: Rebel Assault, Road Avenger, Heart Of The Alien are some of my all-time favorites! I think it was a great system regardless of the unpopularity of the Sega CD. Great vid!

Yes! All great games. Of that list, I REALLY want Heart of the Alien; I love the Out of this World/Another World series... even though the second game has some... issues, lol🤪 Thanks for watching!!

I had cliffhanger on the regular Sega. It was a great game on there. I had a sega cd and didn’t know they had cliffhanger on it.

Hey, Jake. REALLY enjoyed your video (ESPECIALLY the part where you repaired/replaced the traces on the SegaCD board?!?!?) - badass, dude!!! Uhh, bout Ecco The Dolphin, dough...🙄
It's NOT the same as the Megadrive (Genesis) build of the game - save the redbook audio.
    Some "upgrades" -
    - Q-sound - one of the few games that Sega included this tech to immerse the player in 3D(ish) sound.
    - the sound samples are "truer" to real sound (ie - Ecco's splashes)
    - the full motion video glyphs (they're kinda hokey, but informative) in the Atlantis library. A full motion video intro.
    - Five (5) additional (redesigned?) levels.
Just thought I would mention a few differences I've noticed while playing, Bruv. Love your content & your channel. Liked & subbed. Rock On!!! 🎸🎸🎸

It tool a few days to get through it, but great video! I was a genesis kid who never got around to the sega cd or 32x.

Thanks!! I was a Genisis kid too, and if it weren't for my first job I never would have had the Sega CD or 32x... priorities, lol😜 Both are "flawed" in their own right, but there are some cool experiences on them that aren't available on other platforms. Thanks for watching!!

So I have jurassic park for the sega cd. It's basically a point and click adventure game. It gets all the hate because there several sort of action parts where you have to be fast and do things just right or it's an instant death. It was common for pc adventure games of the time to have 1 or 2 spots like this, but I think jurassic park sega cd has too many. You're probably gonna need a walkthrough at some point to finish it.

    • @retrojakexy
      @retrojakexy  4 месяца назад +1

I've actually played a decant amount of the game since making this video, and you are 100% correct, lol😆 I really like the point and click adventure games of the 90's like Sam and Max, Monkey Island, Phantasmagoria, Bioforge, etc. so I've really enjoyed Jurassic Park. It's an old school game for an old school crowd. Thanks for watching!!

Next time do the 32X.. A failure worth looking into

It's coming eventually, but I want to build that part of my collection up a bit more first. I've got about two thirds of a complete 32x collection, and I'm working on a complete set. Thanks for watching!!

I know I'm young so... yeah but, keep forgetting SEGA made consoles. Keep thinking they only made the Sonic Games.

@@retrojakexy I mean, I grew up playing the 360... in its late years 2010-2015... I mean like, I'm not old but I guess I'm a seasoned veteran now 😅😅
