I saw GmanLives' review, and although I already had it on my wishlist (as I owned the original games and loved them), the moment the review pointed out the very fact that the devs are NOT messing with the story/dialogue at all, I immediately preordered it to support them.

"This review probably sold a few more copies!" While I was listening to you read this article, I pulled up the game's page on Steam and literally clicked PURCHASE just as you said this. XD I still haven't finished the first game but I love the style of classic games so in my library this one goes!
I usually stick to sales (the more they cut the price, the better) and the virtual bargain bin categories ($10 or less / $5 or less) in most of my Steam purchases. And then on top of that paying full price for a remake of something I've played before is always a hard sell for me. But now I'm feeling really tempted here to go all in on reliving both the 1st and 2nd game's remakes at full price. And hopefully they'll continue with the rest of the series as well. I've played the first two on Ps2 and I've played the third game that was on Wii, but I only just found out today that there had been a fourth game that I missed out on (I liked what I played on PS1 and PS2 but I got tired of Playstation (and never cared about Xbox to begin with) and returned to only caring about Nintendo's systems after that).
Yeah this is an example of a game that actually feels like you should do a preorder on because it is one of those that actually sell the product complete and with no strings attached. This game basically brings people to the old days before all the microtransactions, bad dlcs, and especially the blasted NFTs and lootboxes. Man I miss the days of the AA devs. Another studio that basically brings back these days would be Krome studios and how they did the same thing as these devs with their Ty the Tasmanian Tiger remakes. These devs are those that we can definitely say are basically reminding people of the Golden Age of gaming aka the early to mid 2000's in other words the era of the Xbox/GCN/PS2 and early to mid Wii/360/PS3 consoles. These devs are even trying to bring back the Cheat Codes where if you input certain commands or went to the game's cheat menu where you input a password you basically either unlock something early or get special treats. Ah good times.
I heard people say in the remaster of the original some of the dialogue was cut however that must be a regional thing if it's true at all because in my copy which is updated to the latest version none of that dialogue is cut it's all there.
It's funny because they call jokes and stories "problematic" because they "promote making fun of certain people/ideas" but in reality, the problematic part is it actually creates "resentment and annoyance" due to demanded special treatments all the time. The best part, is the majority of people demanding the special treatments are demanding it on others' behalf, or trying to speak for others lmao.

@@CptPhilippnes if youre subbed to ANY platforms channel or gaming news channels or even tuned into a game reveal evnt or two there was plenty of advertisements or gameplay reveal trailers for a while now. mainstream wise though like tv? i doubt it but then again i dont watch tv. ive been excited for this game since the first remake cause murmers about remastering the trilogy have been around for a while.

Even if it's a mediocre game, reviews like this just insure some level of success. At this point, gaming journalism is utterly irrelevant at best, or have an opposite effect at worst like here. It's all word of mouth in the gamer community by this point, so they aren't doing themselves any favors.

I still haven't finished the first game but I love the style of classic games so in my library this one goes!
I usually stick to sales (the more they cut the price, the better) and the virtual bargain bin categories ($10 or less / $5 or less) in most of my Steam purchases. And then on top of that paying full price for a remake of something I've played before is always a hard sell for me. But now I'm feeling really tempted here to go all in on reliving both the 1st and 2nd game's remakes at full price. And hopefully they'll continue with the rest of the series as well. I've played the first two on Ps2 and I've played the third game that was on Wii, but I only just found out today that there had been a fourth game that I missed out on (I liked what I played on PS1 and PS2 but I got tired of Playstation (and never cared about Xbox to begin with) and returned to only caring about Nintendo's systems after that).

Yeah this is an example of a game that actually feels like you should do a preorder on because it is one of those that actually sell the product complete and with no strings attached. This game basically brings people to the old days before all the microtransactions, bad dlcs, and especially the blasted NFTs and lootboxes. Man I miss the days of the AA devs. Another studio that basically brings back these days would be Krome studios and how they did the same thing as these devs with their Ty the Tasmanian Tiger remakes. These devs are those that we can definitely say are basically reminding people of the Golden Age of gaming aka the early to mid 2000's in other words the era of the Xbox/GCN/PS2 and early to mid Wii/360/PS3 consoles. These devs are even trying to bring back the Cheat Codes where if you input certain commands or went to the game's cheat menu where you input a password you basically either unlock something early or get special treats. Ah good times.
I heard people say in the remaster of the original some of the dialogue was cut however that must be a regional thing if it's true at all because in my copy which is updated to the latest version none of that dialogue is cut it's all there.

It's funny because they call jokes and stories "problematic" because they "promote making fun of certain people/ideas" but in reality, the problematic part is it actually creates "resentment and annoyance" due to demanded special treatments all the time.

Most of the time a single storyline with a few side quests is what I want to play, not these long branching storylines that's more popular lately
Part of the reason I'm still a Rockstar fan even though they are pushing microtransactions more,the main games like rdr and gta still have a simple storyline with simple objectives and easy to follow plots, with a bigger world to discover if you choose to go along with it

On average: if the critics hate it, I pay to enjoy it... if they love it, I don't pay or even watch it.
